Why I feel comfortable with my gold!

Last week my newspaper printed the ratings of the various local banks and reported which bank was the least exposed to the real estate market and the banks that had taken risky positions.

Even if they underlying American economy does well, it will have to do extremely well to cover are future obligations in regards to Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid. Congress may act and cut benefits somewhat, our economy might grow extremely rapidly although the former government comptroller said a great economy could not make up for the debt, or the u.s. could inflate the currency supply while then report inflation at 1% thereby doing the ole two card monty inflation tax.

Foriegn investors could lose faith in our currency and dump all of our government bonds/ treasury notes and real estate.

Israel could bomb Iran causing massive instability causing many commodities including gold to shoot through the roof.

All kinds of things could happen that could potentially further harm the dollar or lift up gold. Whether any of it will happen or not I don't know but I do feel better with 15% of my investment money in silver and gold while keeping the rest in banks or foriegn stocks. That being said your an idiot if you have 100% of your investment money in gold and are at risk of wiiping yourself out just like the fools who put the retirment money in one stock(ENRON/Healthsouth/). Don't bet on one thing. Put money on several horses. Stock geniuses are often wrong and rarely right .
