Is

Civil disobedience the same as physical opposition? I think he said civil disobedience. But I agree that he wasn't ruling out physical opposition (although that is just my interpretation) and he said it was an individual decision.

Most of us humans....

live in a physical world.

Civil disobedience is physical opposition.

A sit-in is physical, as is a march for peace or collecting signatures to impeach politicians. These are all forms of physical opposition. Dr. Paul does not advocate violent overthrow of the government. Violence is noisy and messy, which is a bad combination. The government in most cases turns the peaceful forms of civil disobedience into physical confrontation through escalation. Ever heard of Kent State? Flowers versus bullets.

We must unite to be heard.

What else can we do to be heard? I agree violence will only add to more violence. However, we will have to be heard on a major level in order for there to be real change. I found this and it makes sense, it unites all the citizens on every level. From what I understand on their website, the more people who commit to this event the longer the event will last, maybe all the way to the rally! I believe this should be implemented worldwide for peace.

What are the percentages of American citizens hurt, intimidated or worse yet killed by our own government?
I demand accountability in all levels of government!
NO MORE SECRET GOVERNMENT!

Violence is not the answer,

Violence is not the answer, you can turn more people to a cause through peaceful opposition then violent opposition. People need to read about Gahndi's movement - a whole nation was freed because of civil disobedience (peaceful opposition)- i recommend the Book, "The essential Gahndi" by Louis Fischer

I do not know what to think.

I do not know what to think. I happened to watch Gen. Victor Renuart on C-span tonight. He is called the US Northern Commander with all sorts of ribbons and buttons and medals. I did not want to watch him, but I caught one thing he said and I FREAKED!! He said that what was most important (and I quote this part) was "the security of OUR CITIZENS on both sides of the Atlantic." What the HELL was that all about??????????

freaked, i tellu

Gen. Victor Renuart

I freaked also when he said we may have to trade away some of our sovereignty!!f theres a cybor attack.

I watched a lot of that too

He talked a lot about the threats from cyberspace and their mandate to abate them, said they are still coming up with a definition of an "act of war," mentioned that he and his 16 lawyers discuss every day how to perform their duties w/o violating the Constitution, explained how only now have they developed systems to effectively counter emergencies like 9/11 and "unforeseen" natural disasters like Katrina.

The guy was sickeningly smooth.

Renuart

Gene Renuart is a son of a bitch and NOT to be trusted!

He is the US NORTHCOM commander at Peterson AFB, and he is also the director for NAADC (North American Aerospace Defense Command).

If he's opening his mouth, he's up to something, or someone has put him up to something.

He's the one who signed the secret agreement (now public) between the Canadian Forces and US forces for inter-jurisdictional cooperation of military forces for use in 'civil emergencies' dated 14 Feb 2008. This basically means that Canadian forces can come to the US to aid in said emergencies, and vice versa. While cross-training and JTF operations with allied countries is not at all uncommon, this takes things to a whole other level.

Now there is a nasty bastard of a catch to this. For those who have never served, US Military forces do not take orders from a foreign chain of command, ever. If they were sent to Canada to, say, protect a pipeline, they would ONLY be under tactical control by Canada.

This works vice versa. Canadian Forces are NOT bound by the Posse Comitatus. You draw the conclusions.

Interesting. You know, the

Interesting. You know, the government attempted to get around the Posse Comitatus Act via a section in the following law: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h109-5122 The specific section was repealed, though. I wonder how soon afterwards the agreement with the Canadians occurred...

...

I think he means

Americans in foreign lands.

well..he could have meant

well..he could have meant that..I sometimes see things inside out. But that guy was just plain chilling. I read the above post, and now I see more of whatever freaked me about that guy..he could kill us all and not blink an eyelash..

Ron Paul: Physical opposition to gov may become necessary

Why must everything run through digg?

Giving power to the technical elite is nauseating.

If you read the entire

If you read the entire article, then you'll know that Ron Paul makes himself very clear that he means PEACEFUL physical action, like Gandhi and Martin Luther King.

It was "necessary" 5 years ago

I've been locked loaded and ready, But now it just seems like a matter of time. Things are escalating in Pakistan today as well as what is happening in Poland and in the next couple days if you watch the world news you will notice a few things. Countries will start to take sides and when that happens it's gonna be inevitabely go time.

Remember history when you watch the future unfold and make comparisons. This is almost exactly like 1939 germany.

Stop the NWO....It's just illumi..Naughty !

No way.

It is no way worth all the bloodshed and misery of war. The government is not oppressive enough to be worth that. We're still pretty free.

If radicals start using guns to attack the government, believe me, that will be used as an excuse to take away much more more liberty. And it's usually the case that a violent revolution results in a more oppressive government than what people were rebelling against.

do you remember history at all ?

It was the revolutionary war that gave us our rights. It took the lives of alot of men but it gave us all the things that we have recently lost so yelling please...Oh Please !!!!! give us our rights back has never worked. They just laugh at it.

They rule with an Iron fist so we need one made of steel.

Yes

but that's rare. The American Revolution was a rare exception. Most don't end so well. The government was on a seperate continent and we were able to drive their soldiers out. Here's the government is right here with us..

I'm a free person. There could be more freedom, but still I have the freedom to do most anything I want. So I don't how a bloody revolution could be justified.

Read the title.. it say's may become necessary

and that is what he said.

The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!

He didn't say it's necessary now

so, so what?

Of course there could come a time when people have to take up arms in revolution. We're not at that point. That's all he said. Don't blow it out of proportion to something else, like Alex Jones likes to do.

I agree, he said that things

I agree, he said that things could get violent (but he wasn't implying that on our side) he talked more about the use of civil disobedience (non violent), if that time comes but he says he is working hard to avoid that time. This is not a call to arms.

Conspiracy kooks?

He said what all have known deep in their hearts.

"The Revolution was in the minds of the People. . .”

Hello, Warren. And in our minds...

“As to the history of the Revolution, my ideas may be peculiar, perhaps singular. What do we mean by the Revolution? The War? That was no part of the Revolution. It was only an Effect and Consequence of it. The Revolution was in the minds of the People. . .” ~John Adams
