Went and saw Judge Napolitano speak, The room was packed with college students. Some had never heard of him and were hearing the message for the first time. The seeds found very fertile soil. He spoke about the legal perspective and how our rights starting getting eroded long ago.
I think I read a winning strategy between the lines. He spoke as how the Patriot Act had never come and been argued before the Supreme Court. There was one incident but it was withdrawn the night before as the Government thought it would lose the case. If this ever goes before the Supreme Court it will be ruled unconstitutional I guarantee it.

Slavery was NOT the cause of the civil war. I know, I know, I was taught the same thing in school. Lincoln himself said that he would continue slavery if he could avoid war. The war was started by the northern mercantilists that were getting special concessions form congress at the expense of the southern economy. The south just got sick of it and walked out. All of europe freed their slaves without bloodshed and we were already well on our way to doing the same. The civil war itself is what caused the animosity between the southern whites and blacks. There were well documented arguments already going on in most southern states to abolish the slave trade. A lot of these arguments were economic in nature. Slaves are actually more expensive when you look at cost and production then it is to just pay people a wage. This was well documented in Europe and the reality of the economics was filtering it's way into the U.S. The slave issue came up when some European powers were considering recognizing the south as a nation and giving financial and possibly military assistance to the cause. The slave issue turned Europe against the south.

A local talk show here in Charleston had a two hour program about Dr. Paul, the economy, the Federal Reserve and Austrian Economics. You would be surprised how many people called in asking questions...and then saying that they wished they had voted for Ron Paul.

covers the cases of several black drug dealers who successfully used the freeman defense to avoid the death penalty.
though the author doesn't see it that way, and ridicules the men for using a defense that was pioneered by groups with ties to the KKK, white supremacy , etc....
It's still a helluva article, information-wise. Even if the author is biased against the information, he still provides very good historical basis.
I'm coming to the conclusion, that while slavery is a horrible evil....you can see the price this country paid for the solution.

What I'm saying is that in abolishing slavery, the way we did it came at a high price....worth it in my opinion, but if we RECOGNIZE that the consequence was ultimate federal power over the states....there's no reason people can't reverse the undesirable part of the results.
let me put it in a slightly different way:
in setting one sub-group that was enslaved free (a moral thing)
we have inadvertently laid a path to slavery for all. (an immoral thing)
even if only 38% of us recognize this, we can start to return power back to the states.
we might resemble a republic some day.
I realize I'm dreaming.
Sadly, the one thing that was more important to slave owners, state's rights, and state's autonomy...was the very thing they destroyed, by insisting on continuing the slave trade.
we're all paying for that. and for black folks....it has to suck, because they'll have to face slavery twice.
once under the old south
and once under the new totalitarian federal power known as the United States of America.

I think a lot of the journalist arrested
over the past week will also add fuel to the fire we've lit. There are several articles from mainstream journalists about this "police state" in America. While the mainstream media tried to spin this as "anarchists" and "anti-establishment"; these journalists are waking up another arena of American citizens who now wonder why this didn't make the news. We still have a way to go, so I agree with FireTeam - keep the pressure up, keep talking, keep passing out the literature and DVDs, keep questioning the role of the Federal Reserve and their "funny" money policies.
