Damn it all

What are Colombians doing issuing loans to Kansans?

LOL!

....good.

Kinda surprised to only hear of 1 this week....Were there any last week?

No, sista

Don't think any were taken over in a couple of weeks....I believe some credit unions though. My guess is that there are several that should be closed based on the normal standards of the FDIC, but they don't want to shut them to start a panic. Again, just a guess.

I had the opportunity

to attend a presentation by a somewhat well-known local economist last week.

It was kinda funny when he made references like "Helecopter Ben" and things like that.....Unfortunately, I was one of the few in the room that understood what he meant.

He showed a really interesting graph with historical information about bank reserves.......They graph just went off a cliff right at the end (most recent). I think it was a real eye-opener for those in attendance. He said outright that most banks today are broke and that the regulators are relaxing the standards so they don't have to close them all......I wasn't surprised but most others in the room were.
