Little help...?

I'm a Scotsman who - once I discovered Ron Paul - got very interested in this political race and in American politics in general. As such - and with a Texan wife - I get into a lot of debates/discussions with people about politics and it generally swings to specifics of US policy. Something that people keep bringing up is how great Bill Clinton was (usually non-US citizens and people from Seattle). I lived across the waves when he was in power and don't actually know a whole lot about what he did while in power (other than the whole Monica Lewinski thing - and subsequent perjury that everyone seems to gloss over for some reason), but I'd really like to be able to speak from a position of knowledge on the matter when it invariably turns to 'the good old Bill Clinton days' from people who were actually there when they were happening.

People on the Daily Paul are among the most knowledgeable on political matters that I've ever come across so I was hoping that someone could give me a rundown of what he did or stood for that was good and what was bad.

Also, people keep on bringing up how Republicans are so war-hungry and aggressive. I know that the reverse is actually true - historically speaking - so I was hoping someone could give me their viewpoints or perspective on that, which I can then look into some more myself.

I'm looking into all these things for myself obviously, but any help you guys can offer would be tremendous. And information on the alternative view of Abe Lincoln would be good too as I love pointing out to uninformed bandwagon-jumpers with big mouths that their regurgitated viewpoints may not actually be as crystal clear as they think. And 'Honest Abe' is a favourite saintly icon of theirs.

Many thanks.

Here's an old article that may help put into perspective

what Bill Clinton was and is all about. Called "Clinton and Quigley" www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=14629
Then after you read this you might want to then start researching some more about Carroll Quigley and his book "Tragedy and Hope" A good starting point is a review of this book called "The Naked Capitalist" by W. Cleon Skousen.
Unfortunately, many people really think that there is a difference between the Democrats and Republicans, when in truth it is just a big scam. They all have the same agenda. Clinton was a tool just like the rest.

Aye a Scotsman

Are ye a lowlander or a highlander?
Is your name Kyle?
My name is Kyle! After Kyle of Lochlash.
I can trace my family back to the Hebrides of Scotland and Highlands by the way. I love Scotland.

I think the Clinton family are corrupt but there was prosperity for the working and middle class during the time they were in power that is why people seem to like them. Our current administraition is absolutly horrible. They should all be impeached. A clean slate is needed in general. Oh yea, don't trust people from Seattle, all Obama lovers, really hippiesh out there. Seattle is quite liberal.

Clinton repeal a

law that was put in place after the crash of 1929. It had something to do with the banks and if it were in place we wouldn't be dealing with this mess. My husband knows about it but I don't understand it. Maybe, someone else here can explain it. He is most defiantly for the NWO.

The economy was good under

The economy was good under Clinton because the tech stock bubble hadn't blown up yet.

Clinton did reduce the federal budget deficit, but total unfunded liabilities for social programs (SS, Medicare, VA) continued to mount during his administration. Total liabilities for these programs now stands at $60 trillion to $100 trillion.

UN sanctions against Iraq during the 1990s resulted in the deaths of 1.5 million Iraqis, including half a million kids under five years old (that's the UN's own number). Clinton's Sec. of State Madeline Albright said this was "worth it." That's right -- Clinton killed as many Iraqis as Bush did and he did it much more cost effectively. I guess that's something.

Don't forget Waco. Clinton's AG Reno made a big show of running that operation until it ended in -- you guessed it -- lots of dead children (a recurring theme in the Clinton administration).

Hillary and Bill were and are, very corrupt people. You can see about Hillary on judicialwatch.org as she is on the 10 most corrupt politician list. There are MANY rumors in AR about horrible things Bill had done, using people here to do them. Out government has been wrong for YEARS. The Council on Foreign Relations are the ones behind our Government. Check them out.
Good luck.
