Today marks the one year anniversary of the great Aaron Russo's passing. For those unfamiliar with the man. He was the one who made the movie "America: Freedom To Fascism."
Ron Paul credits him for being one of the people who really kicked off this revolution.
He was a great man and a tru patriot.
He will be missed.

When I first saw America:
When I first saw America: Freedom to Fascism I was very very excited. I gobbled it all up. I loved the idea of the government raping its people illegally with the Federal Reserve and the Income Tax. I even went out and bought a 'Destroy the Federal Reserve' shirt! haha.
And then someone actually showed me the law where you do have to pay an income tax, and explained the myths in the movie. Oh well. The theme of the movie was honorable.
Oh, and not to mention that
Oh, and not to mention that it is unconstitutional in several different ways.
Such as the 16th amendment defined income as corporate capital gains, not wages earned.
And the income tax is a clear violation of property rights.
The Congress shall have
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
I see no mention of corporate capital gains.
The definition of income is
The definition of income is not wages. Its corporate capital gains.
and that was even in a 1920 supreme court ruling. Its even in the movie.

Because I have met and spoken extensively with people in that movie such as Joe Banister, etc. As well as searching for the law myself. Needless to say, It doesnt exist.

Back to the point of the OP...
Aaron Russo's film opened my eyes...years after I already dug his earlier, 'commercial' work, like Trading Places. He was a great talent and a formidable voice in this world. Every month here in Chicago we pass out hundreds of copies of Freedom to Fascism and encourage everyone we come across to see it.
When we protested the Fed the day before the Revolution March this summer, I sat for a while thinking of F2F and all it opened my eyes to. I've done so much research since then and learned a lot of things some people would never wish to know. But I wouldn't trade that knowledge for anything. If we are to stand up for our freedom in this country we must be armed, physically AND mentally.

A Man of True Character
As many of us newcomers to the Revolution try to exchange information and ideas on how to help the country and the world, let us remember that men like Aaron Russo were out there when there was no "support group" to back them up.
Aaron Russo, as well as people like G. Edward Griffin and others were unique in their courage and strength even when they were standing pretty much alone. We all have each other and the newly formed "movement". They had only their strength of character and their consciences. Always inspirational to see a person with the courage to stand for the truth, even when nobody is willing to listen.

there was a tribute to Russo and it included this quote from Stephen Gordon, "In our last telephone conversation, Aaron told me he’d kick my butt if I didn’t do what I could to ensure Ron Paul is the next president of the United States."
Aaron Russo Was a Great Patriot
Aaron Russo was a great patriot and passionate about freedom. He was an activist and trend spotter and a change agent for liberty. I was proud to have voted for him for the Libertarian Party Presidential nomination on all three ballots at the national convention in Atlanta in 2004. I wish he was still around to help us now.
One man's experience
About two weeks before Aaron passed away we were talking on the phone.
Aaron, a tough minded, big hearted man, was weeping. He spoke through his tears and said he was deeply moved to finally see thousands of people stepping out and taking on the battle.
The last thing he said before he hung up was, "Get Ron Paul elected."
In many ways I feel like I personally let Aaron down. I could have spent more time and energy talking to more people.
I could always find people to listen, but I wasn't successful at getting the more mainstream folks to get involved.
In my gut, I felt that America needed more time (which puts us all at greater risk) to 'see' what's really going on. More time to feel, on a personal level, the consequences of the political abuse of our government, our money and our liberties.
Aaron worked for many years before America: Freedom-To-Fascism. He was fighting this battle for 25 years before he produced the DVD.
I wish he was here.

Freedom lost is seldom regained
without tremendous sacrifice and loss of blood.
I'm afraid we only have a pretense of freedom.
Anyone who pays one penny in personal income tax is a slave. Believe it. And its been going on for almost 100 years here in America.
All the political gestures and demonstrations will not recover our freedoms. It's going to take a bloody revolt I'm sorry to say. That will take massive numbers of rekindled patriot spirits. They have not arrived yet.
Our near term prospects are chilling...but we must continue to build the critical mass and that takes time.

A Peaceful Revolution is what I joined; however, I do not believe that the central bankers and globalist elite will relinquish their control and power peacefully.

You were the one bringing up your phone call with Aaron and how he asked you through tears to make sure Ron won. Well?
All I did was ask for your help ($5) and I got a bible quote which basically told me that it was all too hard and we couldn't defeat the other king's army.

I don't need to know why someone doesn't have the gas money to get to St. Paul. These people are patriots and we should be falling over each other trying to help them.
To you it's a "rah rah" event. To those of us who knocked on doors, froze in the snow, gave money, became precinct leaders, Meetup group organizers, sign makers, fund raisers -- this has been our LIFE for the best part of a year.
You can wait for your army. The rest of us are waiting for something amazing to happen in St. Paul. Aaron will be there. I am sure of that.
