This development intrigues
This development intrigues me. All I want to know is her position on the CFR.
If she is NOT a member, or being courted as a member (I think it takes 2 years) then why would they nominate her? I do not know anything about her yet, but that is the main question I want answered.
Because she can win

McCain's VP pick is Senator Ted Stevens from Alaska. Though McCain and Stevens have sparred in the past over "The Bridge to Nowhere" they have come together to find common ground.
Both have been accused of stealing money, and both believe that the internet is a vast series of tubes. When Stevens recently handily won his primary after being accused of corruption and scandal, McCain decided he needed that kind of perserverence on his Presidential campaign.

...so I surely can't submit that I know who InSane will choose (not that it's up to him to choose!!...but I digress...)
Now, this may or may not mean anything more than wishful thinking on the part of her supporters, but, here's a website that exists...per a "whois" check, it was created Jan. 29, 2008; last updated July 1, 2008; and has an expiration date of Jan. 29, 2009:

I performed a few searches using various combinations of McCain with Romney, Lieberman, Stevens, adding an "08" suffix, etc...nothing turned up. Only the McCain/Palin combo brought up an existing page.
But heck, I could create a McCainFanOfWalt.com domain if I wanted to, and it wouldn't mean anything realistic, so take the above with a grain of salt.
(ew...I now feel all ashamed and dirty, linking my name with his that way...)
UPDATE 8:13am PDT: The headline on that website has changed. It now reads: "The Wait Is Finally Over -- It's Official! !! Congratulations Sarah Palin!"
