"Let my people go..."

It just dawned on me. Ron Paul is the 'Moses" of our day.
Consider...
-they both had humble beginnings.
-the both had prestigious careers.
-they both spent time in obscurity (Moses in the wilderness and Ron Paul in Congress).
-They both felt a higher calling to do something that they were somewhat reluctant to do.
-They both were not taken seriously by the powers of their day.
-They both had a tenacity and pit-bull attitude about getting the job done.
-Moses had his staff; Ron Paul the internet.
And both have the same theme:
"Let my people go".
Wake up America - the Red Sea awaits!

I really like the
I really like the connection. "Let my people go"... I can hear God our Father saying it even as we tear each other apart about the question of God.
As long as He leaves us to our own devices this question will both divide and heal. Like a long convulsion of a squirming newborn still wet with the mother's water we as pink blind worms writhe and wriggle in the new, stark, altogether too bright light of Day.
Struggling to take in our own first breath we must first discover the need to expel the old drowning and we remain for another lethal instant on the cusp between life and the never ending grave.
Legislating faith doesn't work and is antithetical to freedom. Refusing to accept the convictions of others being manifest in their discussions is equally antithetical to freedom. So with freedom we find others must be both free to speak and free to believe as they see fit.
Are you the reader really prepared to embrace this wild and unfamiliar new experience called a free society? Freedom is one idea and can only be lived as one standard.

Got a good laugh out of that
Others?
I don't know if you are thinking of fundraising, etc... But, as long as we are using mythical/literary characters, what are some others? Robin Hood might be fun. I guess the Star Wars thing has already happened. Anyone?

"We are the inheritors of the American Enlightenment, which tells us that Individual Liberty always trumps collectivism in all forms."
Star Wars WILL happen-
Star Wars WILL happen- Hilary Clinton VS Ron Paul same as Darth Vader VS Obi Wan Kenobi
And they both knew how...
And they both knew how to rise above and STAY AFLOAT...LOL!
Maybe
Except Moses enslaved his people in a new way, whereas Ron Paul wants his people to be free.
You must be joking, without
You must be joking, without the law the Israelites were nothing, they would have snuffed themselves out in a few decades. 10 commandments... the constitution? With it, they came out of egypt, the world power at the time, and came to surpass her in power an influence becoming the most powerful nation on the earth at the time. Remind you of any other country?
And both were revered
by gun owners. Wait; Am I thinking of Charlton Heston?
You're right. Moses is the quintessense of savior and deliverer and lawgiver in the literal sense. He literally saved the enslaved from being worked to death. He delivered them—meaning he gave them freedom from slavery. And he also gave them the law—obedience to just law (or Constitutional law) is one of the things that makes us all free.
There is no need to keep religious discussion from conversation here (though I hardly see how this is very religious at all) but it should be focused on our overall message of Dr Paul's campaign.
Here are two depictions of Moses found at the Supreme Court building:

Please!!! Leave YOUR religion out of this.
For once...can we leave religious rhetoric out of this and perhaps attach more broadly appealing references to Ron Paul, like...say, George Washington or Benjamin Franklin?

Hey man, get used to it. In
Hey man, get used to it. In a free society you're going to have to learn to put up with people expressing more of what you don't like. That goes for us Christians too. If we have to put up with drugs, violent entertainment, porn, and gambling, then you can put up with us trying to save people from it (using persuasion rather than legislation of course) Some states (Kansas) might even put it in the public schools! *gasp*
..and we are debating religion rather than Ron Paul...now do you
...and now we are going to have a big long thread about religion which will obviously be a DIVIDING issue because everyone supporting Ron Paul all have different religions. Yet you want to post about your saviour and include yourself in what you believe to be the christian majority that is supporting Ron Paul. Where did you get this information from? You assume so much, and have to, because from your comments you show that you know very little. Save your speech or sermon for those ready to receive it in a religious atmosphere. There are plenty of venues for such talk and fellowship. You assume that somehow I don't have a faith. Did you ever think that my faith may even be the same as your own!!! No! You start stereotyping me because I want a separation of CHURCH AND STATE! The constitution...remember that document? I want to swear in this so badly that it drives me insane. Stop being ignorant! What is the one thing that we ALL have in common? FREEDOM! You are posting on a Ron Paul related site about religion... the ultimate divider of all time! Wake up _______! Here's something to remember...our RIGHTS as americans are tied to the belief that there is a CREATOR....without the creator there are no rights...there are many religions who believe in the creator, namely those religious folks who are attributed to helping elect GEORGE W. BUSH!!! TWICE!!! So, now, religions have a black eye from helping elect the worst president in our history...ever! This gives the creator a black eye, which gives your rights a black eye...and I believe we have all been experiencing the results from that black eye for the past few years!!! If "they" can get rid of GOD/CREATOR, then "they" can get rid of our rights! Educate yourself VOISINE before spouting off!!! If you want to have a religious discussion then write to me and I will gladly converse about religion with you. Otherwise....wise up!

Fantasy is Good
In addition to entertainment, myths also offer great instructional value as parables and allegories. The comparisons between Ron Paul's & Moses' respective struggles in the wilderness simply serve to point out the similarities between their missions in life. No religious component need necessarily be read into these analyses.
If Ron Paul is Moses, is Dubya Ramses?
...is Mike Huckabee Nehemiah Scudder?
...is Mitt Romney Lex Luthor?
...is Rudy Giuliani The Joker?
...does LehrBoy need to get a job?

Sorry, but First Amendment Prevails here...
If you want to worship a rock, a tree, nothing at all, or the creator of the universe, my Lord, Jesus Christ, you can do that in a free country.
I think Ron Paul, Benjamin Franklin, and all the founding fathers would agree with this. You see, I respect your desire to worship who and what you want. I won't force my religion on you, if you promise not to enforce your lack of religion on me.
A country divided will fall. Let's not forget this. Peace my friend.

Yep.
Yep yep yep yep yep.
I can appreciate this
I can appreciate the thought, being a Christian that fervently believes we need God's help if our country is to endure, and we'll need his help if Ron Paul's candidacy is to overcome the oppression of the "Pharaohs" of our day.
I suppose you might also compare his message bit to John the Baptists': "Repent you vipers and snakes!" Of course, that doesn't tend to go over as well... ;-)
Here's a prayer for the next "sign and wonder" - a WIN in NH!
The hill
Moses came down from the mountain. Ron Paul came down from the hill.
Moses was a baby floating in a basket. Ron Paul delivers babies and works with a bunch of basket cases.
Go Ron Paul!
none are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.
Aye,
Moses was also "slow of speech" & and wandered for 40 years, lets hope he's more like captain America (without the die part.)
Well...
Just throwing this in there... my candor towards religion seems to change with each new direction of the wind..

So I guess you could say he's doing God's work...
