Gustav likely to steal a lot of our thunder

0 votes

Gustav will likely hit our coast as a strong category 5 on Monday because crossing Cuba barely affected the storm. How do you all think this will affect the strength of our message? It is clear to me now that the RNC will certainly be delayed or "transformed" as various sources have hinted and speculated.

Gustav sucks!

It will be the only news story if it hits New Orleans or does a lot of damage. (which is really bad all by itself), it also gives Bush and Cheney political cover for missing the GOP convention. Instead of showing up and embarassing everybody they can miss it while looking like they are trying to do some good for the country rather than because they are an embarassment to this country and their own party.

The perfect storm

for the GOP, provided they can distance themselves from the Bush fiascos of Katrina. They'll be sure and keep Bush and Cheney under wraps. The attention to the storm will bring many viewers into close watch on their television sets, and they'll be exposed to plenty of politics. I'm not sure what kind of coverge Ron Paul will get, and it may not play too well at the moment of a National disaster in progress to be calling for "less" government. A lot of people's sentiment will be for more, more, and even more big govenment. Bad timing for a disaster. But, Ron Paul can eloquently guide the people with his true logic, and rationale......this may be the perfect storm that Ron Paul needs.

Whenever I vacation

on the gulf coast, I stay in St. Paul. Because it's practically right there. I cancelled my haircut in DC today because it's raining in tennessee.
anyone see what I'm saying here?

ya

apparently Gustav will make landfall in Minnesota ...

not surprising since Georgia(in the south us) was occupied by Russia.

omg

I never even thought about it but, if miss teen america is right, the education in the south africa and such as will probably lead lots of americans to think that russia is attacking georgia in the us(hope they don't get atlanta, thats where coke lives)

Problem with the Russians is:

they can read maps.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Ron Paul was right

don't have maps.

Am I insenitive? This really annoys me!

The idea of McCain grandstanding on the winds of Gustav is sickening to say the least. I don't see that him going to the region will help foster an image of a man that cares about the aftermath of the hurricane and being sensitive to the residents, I see it as a vain attempt to make himself out to be the great caring President that Bush wasn't after Katrina. What a waste!

Here it comes...

Suspend the rules, backroom McCain, and announce a unified party in the face of a national tragedy.

It will make great TV.

I think they will do everything in their power not to have a

floor vote. Remember how the DNC was talking about having the delegates do a phone vote so it wouldn't embarrass Obama? This storm is the perfect excuse. They don't really care about the people, just so long as it fits into their agenda. Most telling part of the Politico article is this sentence. "Much can be changed or altogether dropped from the convention, but it emphatically must take place in some form, because McCain needs to be nominated to be legally placed on the ballot in all 50 states. “There are no exceptions to that,” said the source."
The threat of Ron Paul delegates is exactly why I think they will do anything other than a normal floor vote.

Hah,

Officials insisted that the convention, scheduled to open here on Monday, will go on — albeit in a more limited and sedate form —

The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!

Didn't stop 'em

from having a party last time, just an excuse so their convention doesn't get showed up by Ron Paul.

No Stopping the Ron Paul Party

Will Gustav or Lack of Interest hit harder on attendance at the RNC Convention? Here's an LA Times article of interest...and maybe this turn of events might benefit our message and the Rally for the Republic. We won't stay home! Invite all the disappointed RNC Convention delegates to our party instead...only wish Dr. Paul were speaking at "their" convention...imagine the impact...a voice of reason and calm with an honest message. It is truly ignorant of the RNC not to realize the value they have in Dr. Paul andhis supporters...the RNC in DC are the losers and it will show in the next few days.
