RNC shut-down: Our advantage!

This has got to be a page from "The Art of War" for us. Here's an idea for the grassroots:

Any C4L'ers already in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area should immediately begin flyering/postering the areas around hotels with succinct "Conservative Republican" flyers/slim-jims announcing the C4L festivities. Politely request in all hotels/motels, as well as restaurants and convenience stores if it's cool to leave a stack of these announcements. Remember, this is a grassroots effort on behalf of our favorite Republican- so mentioning the GOP and RNC is peachy.

Don't even mention Ron Paul! So many of these RNC-goers have had their minds made up from Faux News that he is a "kook."

I think the message on these flyers/slim-jims should be that "here are some REPUBLICAN, CONSERVATIVE speeches, rallies, concerts, etc. which have not been CANCELLED!" Use the GOP Elephant logo. Use colors red/white/blue- use a LOT of red ;)

Above all, get the schedule & venues correct, and be succinct. This is not the time to use fancy graphics and quotes from Thomas Jefferson et al. Short and simple- let the erstwhile RNC-goers know that they have plenty of things to do while in town, even though many RNC "festivities" have been shelved.

Perhaps an explanation of "Due to the impending disaster of Hurricane Gustav, the following Republican venues are now available: (list of C4L stuff)"

Know what I mean? ;)

I think this will appeal to those RNC-minded folks who are already stuck in St. Paul, and those who are going to bite the bullet and fly there tomorrow anyway, hoping for the best.

As I mentioned, this is an idea. I would appreciate any feedback, but most of all I would hate to see an amazing opportunity like this squandered amongst so many in the grassroots who cannot see eye-to-eye on everything.
