Palin to be subjected to such ridiculous speculation that her downsyndrome baby earlier this year was supposedly faked and actually her daughter's. She has reacted to these false rumors, but also acknowledged that her 17 year old daughter is in fact pregnant and that she will marry the biological father. With her work as governor she must be very busy and cannot attend so much time to her daughter... This is a personal family matter, but unfortunately in
the context of presidential politics everything is under scrutiny, also your personal life and those of your family. One has to see after the initial outburst of support, whether this will not hurt the McCain-Palin campaign again. Could well be an issue during the RNC.

Personally I think it is better Sarah is governor of AK than VP. McCain will probably never consider Ron Paul as VP, and Paul would be restricted as VP in what he can do. Paul will be much more influential as house leader, which is actually more important than VP and which he can attain in 2010, regardless who wins in 2008.

Behold I send you out as sheep among the wolves. Well, sort of. The GOP leadership, who like to eat their young, know McInsane is going to go down in flames in November. They looked around and thought who can we sacrifice as VP with this ridiculously pathetic nominee? Well there a Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, and sort-of-Small-Government chick governor in Alaska who is probably stupid and vain enough to accept the VP role. But wait, her unmarried, teenage daughter is totally preggers. How will that play with the family values crowd? Who cares? By picking Palin right now, we can kill two birds with one stone: make the GOP look progressive by nominating a woman with a soon-to-be-born illegitimate grand-baby, while we ruin the political career of an up-and-coming conservative. Brilliant!
GOP has given up in 2008. If they still thought they had a chance, no way Palin, with the lack of experience and the family-drama baggage, would be chosen as VP. All the other candidates from the primaries: Romney, Huckaboo, Phoning-it-in-Phred Thompson, Hunter, Ghouliani (except for Paul, who surely wasn't asked) know it's over and probably told the leadership they wanted to "spend more time with their families" when the idea of VP was presented to them. Duh.
I'm glad the Palin daughter is bringing the baby to term, rather than aborting it. But from a purely political point of view, in a real election, that kind of situation would be studiously avoided by a presidential candidate.
Perhaps the headline should be: I can has fake demokrasies?

I could not care less about Sara Palin's daughter's sex life. But it is hilarious how they OBVIOUSLY want McCain to lose this election. If they showed the real issues that make McCain horrible, it may discredit a lot of people and raise serious questions.

Okay, this is one of my current hot buttons. We need to be clear as to what "marriage" is. Marriage is a covenant between persons, or between persons and their god. When morality is licensed by the state, the state becomes like a god. Getting a state marriage license, putting your covenant under the godship of the state is at least creepy, and possibly disgusting and immoral. My husband and I did not understand this when we were married, all those years ago, but we will discourage our children from marrying the govt. We need to withdraw our consent to be governed in this area of our private lives.

I hope she has all the sex she wants, it is not my business...
