McCain in talks with Ron Paul for backing ~ DIGG!

Paul's views are so at odds with McCain's that it's hard to imagine Paul could ever back McCain. And the way the Republican party dumped on Paul is shameful. So I doubt very much any such talks are going on, and if they are, I doubt even more than anything will come of it.

Obviously a lot of Dr. Pauls supporters are disenchanted , or like myself (pissed off), republican conservatives. Ron Paul has a lot of delegates and is working within the Republican party to advance the 'ideas'.

It is about ideas not about the party or tacit endorsement.
Can McCain swing a portion of the Ron Paul supporters?
If he is smart, Yes. It would take embracing a few of Dr. Pauls Bills and giving Dr. Paul the credit for ideas. That is a big piece of humble pie.
In otherwords, McCain would have to eat a little crow.
Maybe "competing currencies" , the bill removing jurisdiction of courts in abortion cases effectively overturning roe v. wade, and committing 100% as a "federalist" and end the federal war on hemp farming.

All 3 of those are reasonable, rational, and "maveriky"

But, of course Ron Paul cannot give an "endorsement" on grounds of foreign policy but he could be "happy" with the changes in the party platform as a result.

There still is the issue of Russia, Georgia, and a preclivity to war starting. Obama and McCain differ little on this. McCain is just more honest about it.

"Happy with some of the results of changes in the GOP platform" or some variation is as close to an endorsement as I think McCain has of getting. And, that may be enough.

SOME of you do not get to the reality of how politicians work. IF MCCAIN concedes to issues RON PAUL has, in exchange for support , THIS is one big accomplishment for the movement toward LIBERTY. SO don' t count this out as being bad . RON knows the game & is working for us. I do believe names should not be revealed.

ron paul hasn't appeared in an article on huffpo since march of this year -- so please - **please** - post comments that the washington times article is inaccurate, but be respectful. obama supporters flock to huffpo for political news -- & a fair amount of mccain's as well. if more stories are posted about paul, we have a chance to attract some of obama's supporters who have become disenchanted w/his recent hawkish foreign policy positions & flip flop on telecom immunity. not to mention the floodgates of repubs who are going to run like hell away from mccain & his veep's new list of scandals.

GOP tries to twist Ron Paul's arm for support.
Why else would they be so difficult if they didn't want Ron's support.

besides it is a no brainer ron would never support mccain(neither would I)

would he throw away 30 years of work to support a war monger... lol

pls tell me ron would say.. "hey you know what I have worked on this for all my adult life , but now I will support this person who oppose me on every single issue....I am just tired I give in on everything..this was my goal all along.."
