New to Daily Paul

Hello everyone, Ron Paul supporters and not.,

Just wanted to introduce myself and get to know some fellow bloggers.

My name is Kristiana and Im a Ron Paul paulition. Ive watched my mother obsess over this website for quite sometime; so I figured I would see what all the hype was about. So far I am very impressed and dont plan leaving anytime soon.

This is the first year I get to vote, and even though Ron Paul will not be on the ticket, I plan on writing his name in. Some people believe that voting for the lesser of two evils is the way to have your vote count. I believe that I rather vote and not have it count then vote for something I dont believe in. Does that make sense? Ahaha Its a little hard to explain.

Well if you have any questions please feel free to ask me cause, though I havent ran out of things to say, I dont want to rant.

amen to that nwind

The government and all the liscensing and fees and forced expences cost me my business. Not to mention having to have a bookeeper because the more money you make the more complicated it gets. My last year in business I found $13,000 that my bookeeper had stolen from me and when I went to my accountent he said if I took it to court it would end up costing more than she stole from me and even if I got a judgement I would probably never see the money anyways. Oddly enough that was the same year the towers fell. Things have changed so much since then I have now found myself layed off and cannot collect my unemployment unless I let them do a profile on me and enter myself into their database. I have a four year degree in my field and the government and banks have destroyed my livelyhood. I now find myself with $35 a week for food and am being suported by my daughters small income. A few weeks ago my dog got out of my fence for the first time in 12 years my neighbor called 911 the dogcatcher picked up my dog from this man and they have given me two tickets that total $200 I do not think I can come up with the money she said if I do not pay the fines I would be going to jail. So in 7 years I have went from building some of the biggest homes in my state for some of the weathiest people in my state (many of them bankers) to looking at going to jail because my dog got out of my fence and I am not able to pay a simple fine. The thing that bothers me the most is I think I am one of the more fotunate ones. I have a very suppotive daughter. Think of those who have noone to turn too. If they send me to jail I intend to tell everyone in there about two people Jesus Christ and Ron Paul and if they put me by myself I will just spend my time asking the first one to look out for the the second one. Actually this day was coming anyway I will never accept a Real ID card anyways. Someone has to go first must say I would have never thought it would be me. I'm sure there are alot of people setting in there thinking the same thing though. Last night at the RNC rally their theme was "country" that means more national patriotism. They showed a video of people who come to this country to find a country where they could find freedom. I laughed at that The first people who came to this country where criminals. It was a bad thing to be sent here. Then the people who where pursecuted for religion decided anything was better than being beheaded or burned at the stake so they came. It was nothing about freedom it was about making the pain stop. Most were probably scare to death on the way here. They where seeking the place of the least fear not freedom. But when they got here they they got a blessing. A chance to breath a sigh of relef and realize there was noone around to do them harm they felt for the first time the feeling of freedom from the democracies they escaped from. Yes they had kings then but they were democracies non the less. After living her for a while and having the time to think about the sum total of their life and tasting freedom for the first time the democracy decided to also rule over them here. Once a person has the taste for freedom they are incapable of going back. Our Forefathers where very smart men they lived through a time like no other they understood the political structures of history and they understood democracies and confederations most of all. These are the most ancient of all tyrannies. Our Forefathers did not win our freedom they only shackled the beast for a time. My point is if "country" was what it was all about why would these men have left england of any other nation for that matter? They did not come here for a free nation. They came here so their families would be left alone. Even in the bible it gives man and order to live by. Man has a set of responsabilities and an order to them. 1st God 2nd Wife (family) 3rd others 4th self. If you notice "country" is not in the list. You could put it under others I guess if it is a cause that is honorable to stand up for but the choice to pitch in a helping hand still resides in the individual and it is a decision that is made between a man, his family, and God. My point is we did not come here for a good country! A good country formed around good people who were willing to step up and support each other even when they might not agree. Why would people do such a thing? They remembered what it was like to be pursecuted and democracies always divide to create a mob. Then they let the mob do their dirty work thus keeping their hands free of the blood. People feel safe if they run and get into the mob. But after you help distroy all the minority the mob will always be hungry and will then begin destroying itself from the tail to the head. And those who run and jump in to be left alone they are in the tail. Only there is noone left to save them or hold their hand. This is why or Forefathers said "we hang together, for if we don't we will surely hang seperate". I have no choice but to respect anothers freedoms to do something I feel is not right, for the day I stop standing up for his right to do it I have become the mob and have actually destroyed my own right to be free. There is only one type of freedom and that freedom allows one to worship the God of their choice and that same freedom allows someone to smoke pot and that same freedom allows someone to be an athiest. I would argue it is more important for me as a Christian to stand up for an atheist rights than it is for me to stand up for my own right to worship the God of Abraham issac and jacob. Why because I know I will always worship him. Nooe can take away my individual right to pray it is impossible. But they can take away my right to move freely and they can take away my right to provide for my family which is one of my responsabilities. The only thing they need to do to take these rights from me is to make me feel it is ok to take someone elses because they are diffrent than me then they let my guilt shut me up. No they didn't come here for "country they came here for "family". We are not a "country" until we are a "family". The elites have made sure to destroy the family first and they intend to repace it with this thing they call "country" sorry but my Forefathers left that place a long time ago and I will not go back there and disgrace my Forefathers sacrifice. I am not a sheep I am from the stock of Lions. I am from an english family not the country. The family left england along time ago. They have always hated us for our families and they still do. The NWO (europe) hates us and or ignorant leaders are being wooed by these family destroying socialist (communist / fascist) pigs. Our Forefathers warned us about Europe and not to get into intangling alliences with them. They know them better than we do and they trusted them way less. The young lion might have won a physical fight in the early 1700's but the lion has never left but be ye warned lion! It has been many years and the young lion is now older and wiser. This time it will be for eternity. this time it will be your end. It is time for democracy to die. It is time for the republic to stand up. Here us Roar world here us Roar heaven. The revolution is over. Get ready for the revalation. The lion cometh show me your fear!

Criminals

The first "criminals" who came here were debtors.

Back then it was a really big crime to be a debtor, but at least you had a chance to go somewhere new, start a new life, and work your way out of your woes.

And the pilgrims weren't setting out to escape religious persecution (the puritans took over Great Britain not 30 years after the pilgrims landed in plymouth)... They wanted to create a "city on a hill" which would serve as a shining example to the rest of the world.

Although their vision was primarily religious, we are all inheritors of that spirit of spreading the word of propriety by example. Sadly, whether religious or secular, we are fast on the path of failing their legacy.

Welcome, Kristiana! If you

Welcome, Kristiana! If you plan to vote for what you believe in rather that whom you are told by the media to vote, you are a natural for this site. The situation is this nation is very grim. People your age have no memory of living in America when there still some freedom left in this country, no memory of living in a land that was not ruled by a Bush or a Clinton. There was a time, not so long ago, when you could start a business without government approval, endless regulations and taxation that barely allows a profit. You could build a house, garage or treehouse on your own property without paying for endless permits and inspections. You could tell a joke without worrying about whether someone would be offended. Police, even the FBI, were the good guys and people welcomed their presence rather than feared them.

There is a lot riding on your generation. Young people like you, people who are not afraid to think, not afraid to stand up for what you believe in, are the last hope for freedom, the last hope for the future. From what I have seen of young people in the liberty movement on this site and others, the light of hope is shining brightly.

BOHICA!!

I have to agree

Once I got past the stage of dependency on my mother and the ignorance of "Im an American and America is great no matter what" mind-thought. I truly began to be aware at how freedom isnt free. I have come to terms and realize at what type of counrty I live in. I love my counrty, dont get me wrong, but not what the Government has made it. I dont feel free, I constently feel as though I am under question.

Happy Belated Birthday, Kristiana....

Welcome to Daily Paul. Come on in, pull up a chair, make yourself "to home". You'll find many like-minded individuals at this site. Sometimes things get a little heated here, but don't let that scare you off. I think the arguments occur because we so passionately believe in this cause...plus we won't QUIETLY tolerate those who come here only to attempt to "divide and conquer".... Also, I and many others consider the Daily Paul a one-stop source for "real" current events...perhaps you will, too...

Hi there...

Just wanna say I was really excited this morning when I got off work to see that C-Span had repeated the Rally. Before I found the rally on TV I took a little time to look at the RNC to see what was going on and I felt a little saddened to see all the shiny eyed hopefuls clapping to the generic go-no-where promises and praise coming from McCain's speakers. I could only handle twenty minutes of it then happily stumbled across the Rally. I must say my spirits were lifted when I saw Dr. Paul giving his speech, and the number of attendees! And knowing that a lot of other people where seeing it too. I'm also a NORML supporter and really liked the mention of legalizing cannabis, and removing the federal reserve.
I'm excited about the revolution and I'm glad to see more people willing to enter the fight for freedom. I work at the post office and as a government employee I'm not really supposed to talk to coworkers about politicians/or views or have huge political stickers on my car...but I do, I also anonymously post Ron Paul's writings on the bill board to hopefully be seen by some of 300 or so employees, none of them have been taken down yet surprisingly (probably because there the only source of common sense in the building:) A couple people have already approached me to ask me questions about Ron Paul. (because of the stickers on my car its easy to guess whose been putting up the paulisms.)
I guess to sum things up, I'm proud to support Ron Paul, and thankful to have the opportunity to be exposed to so many wonderful and like minded individuals involved in a growing and powerful revolution.
Keep up the great work, and thank you everyone.
Matt

Inspire Those Of All Backgrounds

Folks, we going past the first presidential campaign stage. After tonight is over and the fun & thrilling speeches for St. Paul what are you going to do for the Campaign 4 Liberty this month? The next step is you, so how are you going to stand up for Liberty in your community the rest of the year? Make sure you get some materials or do a hand bill of your own and go to the remaining community events the rest of the year. Find out what people's issues are and get them excited. The battle to restore our republic has begun and it depends on all of us and each person we can wake up or talk to about our country's situation. Remember as always be positive and optmistic.

Please vote for Bob Barr,

Please vote for Bob Barr, Chuck Baldwin, or even Ralph Nader. Your vote will not really show in the numbers if you write Ron's name in.

I'm not telling you who to vote for, just don't waste your vote with a write-in that no one will count at the end of the day.

Voting Nader is better than

Voting Nader is better than voting for McCain or Obama. As long as, in the final results, the establishment sees that the population does not endorse its establishment candidates.

Granted, I personally recommend Barr or Baldwin. But ultimately, none of these will win. So it doesn't really matter.

WOW, I am humbled

by your thoughtful and well written responses to my dear Katy. She is making her mom really proud right now. I can't much describe the wave of self directed purpose the Freedom Message has brought our family. I look foward to watching the young people of our great country rise up and show us our work has not been in vain. Thankyou for sharing in the process of educating my family. No other forum compares with this one. The thorough efforts made by all to understand and educate is a direct reflection of the call of the Campaign For Liberty and Ron Paul. You honor him greatly. I'm reposting what I wrote below...

Because I think you should read this.

"I have no idea how to start the journey I have decided for myself. So anyone with ideas please feel free to voice them."

Here is my response:

First get some experience in the private sector. Whatever you do, don't be a career politician; have something real that you can fall back on.

It's harder and harder to do these days, but especially if you can claim to have made something, make something real. When you pick what to do with your life, know what you absolutely will not sell out for, and draw that line in your mind; know what you will compromise but reluctantly, and try to avoid them as much as possible but know that it might come to it.

And live your life your way, don't be worried about doing things the way other people want you to do it. Always, know that things will work out with a little bit of elbow grease and a little bit of faith.

For example, I am a staunch capitalist and also a conservationist, and I know that if we put our minds together we can figure out how to make products that are cleaner for the environment, or make products in a fashion that is cleaner for the environment, and that we can do so economically competitively, and make a buck off of it too, and without the 'help' of the government in the form of research grants or subsidies. So I'm looking for jobs that will allow me to realize these ideals.

Live a life by example first. Although by the numbers this is not politically efficient, when people see you do what you believe in, see you succeed at it, then they will be ten times the believer than if you only spout empty words, although your exposure may not be through as many people. If you then choose to become a politician, do so with great reservation, but you will know that you can do so knowing your beliefs have been steeled and tempered through experience. You will know, from what you have seen, that you are right, and it will be that much harder for your positions to be strayed by politics as usual.

I always have arguments with liberals who say that government must be charitable to take care of the needy. They typically have never truly been charitable in their life. I know this is not true, because I volunteer weekly to feed people who are suffering from AIDS. Many of the people who are on my route and who I volunteer with are liberals, homosexuals, or drug users (I am none of the above), and sometimes I have very difficult days; but being helpful and compassionate energizes me and makes me feel better about myself, and I know at the end of the day when I am optimistic that true need can and will be fulfilled by compassionate individuals of all stripes in the absence of government amidst a capitalist system (I'm capitalist, not objectivist), and my experience is evidence of my position.

The american political tradition derives from that of the yeoman farmer; we're no longer a community of farmers, but the philosophy of doing something valuable for your society and defending liberties is hopefully something that will persist no matter what the american vocation is.

HE MIGHT ..ITS NOT OVER...

I JUST WISH MORE PEOPLE KNEW THAT...WE HAVE SOME TIME

Happy Birthday and Welcome !!!

Like the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young song, "Teach Your Children," your Mom did a fine job raisin' you! You have a big jump over lots of us in your education. You will learn more from Ron Paul (and all these guests speaking at the RFR today), and this site, and, of course, your mom, than your History and economics teachers in college. My daughter is 22, and she is like you seem to be, inquisitive and teachable. Keep your eyes and ears open! I look forward to voting for you one day!
