McCain is afraid Paul's expert fundraisers are going to Barr.

McCain is getting scared. The only person I know that had wanted McCain since the beginning, today told me he thought McCain looks like death warmed over. My friend is now worried, because McCain looks so unhealthy, and McCains choice of Palin was a grave error, as far as my friend was concerned. Again, this was the only Republican I had heard say in the last year he liked McCain for the Rep. nomination.

They have blinders on
They still cannot grasp the idea that there are people unwilling to sell their souls, I guess it is like studies done on the criminal mind, where it is totally inconceivable for certain people to relate to others that have principals or a conscience because they do not. They want our passion and money and think we can now be roped in by either false promises, choices of VP, lessor of evil or whatever they can come up with. The blinders will be their downfall.

Donor list
When you make a donation above a certain small amount (I don't recall the threshold) it becomes a matter of public record, so your name is already in the Republican computers' "soft touch" list.
I regularly get beg letters from the McCain campaign. I just send back the business reply envelope with a Ron Paul slim jim.
Wow...good one!
I am **constantly** getting letters! I donated once for Bush's last election (before I found out about RP, of course) and since then I've gotten letters from Laura Bush, George Bush, Cindy McCain, John McCain, the Presidential Task Force, Michael Reagan, etc. and now I know just what to do.
I didn't see much about McCain in that
Ron Paul's fundraisers never were McCain's to lose, just like people who voted for Ron Paul in the primaries probably weren't considering him in the first place.
Maybe McCain is just pretending to be unhealthy to trick me into voting for his ticket.
Defend Liberty!
He can sell his donor list
to the GOP for all I care.....Hope he gets a HUGE amount of money for it and that the money goes into the C4L.
He knows most of us would never give a dime to the RNC or their "chosen one" anyway....Might as well take their money and use it against them.
They actually think that
it was the money that did it.
The "money" was just a side-effect of the enthusiasm of the support for RP.
There's no amount of "money" sufficient to elect a person like McCain.
They could throw the central bank at McCain, and he's still be a piece of shit.
Well i guess
He had to be close to right about something this year - though we wont be voting in a block for Barr, we will be voting for Barr, Baldwin, Nader, McKinney, Keyes, and writing in Ron Paul - candidates who have in them aspects of liberty, and some of them who embody it. Though the end result will be the same for McCain as if we had voted in a block - he will lose without our support.

I wish the third parties
would consolidate. I wish they would have a third party run off or gentlemen's agreement, or something and put all their efforts into one stand to try to really win. They cannot split the vote.
Fear is the problem. That's
Fear is the problem. That's the driving force behind McCain. His supporters fear an Obama Presidency. If only we could help them to no longer be afraid...
...
Yup
McCain actually desperately wanted to slect Liberman or Ridge as VP, also after the Saddleback church conversation...they did polls, but the resistance within the GOP was too big among some. Lindsay Graham again encouraged him to go for Joe Lieberman. So he had to settle on an alternative fast: Huckabee and Romney both had the problems they would not easily be able to attract the supporters of the other and he know with no exciting choice (Pawlenty would have been boring and did not impress), he had to take some risk. Palin is not up to the job, a screwd choice, helped him a lot with rallying the base and raising funds, but the experience and issues can become a big problem.
Bob Nowak wrote weeks or months ago already that the GOP is afraid Paul and Barr would attend a joint meeting (would give the sign) and help with raising money after the RNC. Paul's Liberty PAC contributed 2500 USD each in 2004 to the LP and CP candidates. Barr is still short of 1 m, but if he can raise a few million in a short time now that the election is heating up, his poll numbers can also increase.
It would be interesting to
It would be interesting to note if the savvy pick of Sarah Palin---almost universally hailed as a cunning move that could help McCain's chances--backfires in his face.
You see, the biggest problem is that the GOP base is deranged. No slick choice of a good-looking VP can alter that.

Sarah has already been "confronted" with her support for Pat Buchanan.
Her support for Ron Paul in February on MTV is not an issue she can distance herself from: if she does - as McCain may ask - then she loses her consistency and if she affirms her praise of our Dr. Paul, then the fact that she is closer to Dr. Paul than McCain will come out. She was a member of the Alaska Independence Party, the CP affiliate in Alaska. The right to life movement in AK has endorsed Cuddy, who lost the primary, but also the AIP candidate, and they are strong 50 000 plus out of a population of 600 k plus, almost 10% of the population alone.
Her experience is going to be under scrutiny. Obama - also an unknown - has been a familiarity since the past few months, but Palin is "brand new", no name recognition yet.
It's become so corporatized
They can't even fathom that we just send money because we believe in something. It's so so sad.

So true.
The concept that people are willing to give of themselves for ethical and moral purposes, is an extremely foreign idea. McCain thinks all he needs is a list of names, and we will throw money at his campaign.
I've said it before and I'll say it again....
trying to teach the concepts of ethics and morality to someone who doesn't have them...is like trying to teach colors to someone who's been blind all his/her life...

Well, what kind of profound
Well, what kind of profound thought processes can you expect from a chipmunk? Of COURSE his thinking is going to be shallow and cynical --- that's how he got to be where he is today, after all.
I think you should be ashamed of yourself, comparing McCain....
to a chipmunk. That is very insulting and demeaning to rodents everywhere.
