Did Comcast Black Out Ron Paul...

or did I get the times wrong for CSPAN2 coverage?

I turned on CSPAN2 about 7PM EDT last night, and there was NOTHING. No sound, no picture, nothing. There's nothing wrong with my TV. I live in Georgia (USA). Any other RP supporters experience this?

Here is a thread with some

Here is a thread with some people who suspect they may have been fired from their Comcast jobs for supporting Ron Paul, or something of that nature:

Miami, Comcast blackouts channel 30

On Sept. 2nd I was truly amazed to witness the Ron Paul Rally. I learned a lot of new information I hadn't known before. I am a seeker of truth and knowledge so the broadcast of the rally over our Comcast channel meant a lot. Yesterday, 9/3/08, I turned to channel 30. It was "snow-white". Today, 9/4/08, it is still the same yet Comcast channel menu show "Today in Washington"-CSpan2. I can view CSpan2 from the CSpan website. How ironic if Comcast just happens to have technical difficulties while the Republicans are on fie to sell their candidates on every channel and air waves. Just to prove to you this is true, two of our local radio progressive talk show hosts, non-republican, were removed from the air waves Nicole Snadler and Jim Defede am940 and am850. Both have spoken highly of Ron Paul. The point is leadership should be transparent and not dominated by party name but by freedom, liberty, and justice. Color, race, and religion should not be a barrier. I surveyed the RNC, DNC, and Ron Paul Rally audience. Which audience really resembles the melting pot of American?

In the DC/Baltimore area

C-Span2 played a baseball game.

I live outside Baltimore and caught the entire Rally For The....

Republic on C-Span2 on Sept. 2nd, however nothing noted yesterday, sept. 3rd.

I'm not sure it was only

I'm not sure it was only comcast. Here in NY, Aimee Allen sang two songs, and Cspan2 went to Hurricane Gustav coverage. When I went on the computer to finish watching her performance, every feed I could find was off. Except CNN.com, But the Feed was messed up and looked green. As soon as she was done they came back on and went on dinner break. I thought it was pretty stange, since earlier in the day I read about the CIA and her threatining her and her record label about her message of revolution in her songs. Either way I was p'd off because I missed the anthem! At least the rest of the speeches were covered, and what a great rally it was!

I've got Comcast and I

I've got Comcast and I watched it. Comcast did have the listings incorrect for the CSPAN channel and due to that I missed DVR'ing Ron Pauls speech. But Comcast did show it.

I had it. I have Comcast

cspan has two channels. I had to flip back and forth to get the whole presentation.

Thanks for the responses...

Seems a little odd (and a little stupid) to black out transmission completely. Anyway, I'll check again tonight.

Thanks, again.

Hard to tell

Comcast is unreliable. We had Comcast phone service and our phone was out every other week for several days. I finally cancelled and they sent me a bill for months. I was also being billed by our new phone company at the same time. They both said they owned our phone number. After ten phone calls and hours of wasted time, they sent it to "legal" to sort out.

I don't think it is just Comcast though, the entire infrastructure of the United States is falling apart. We have a new phone company and sometimes when people call our house they get the sound of a fax machine. My Internet service goes out several times a day for a little while.

Go to c-span online if you want to see the speech.

Comcast

From 7 to 8 they had FEMA people on there talking about the hurricane. At 8 they switched to Ron Paul's convention. Maybe it wasn't working in your area - here in Virginia where I am it worked fine and we have Comcast.

I'm from GA with Comcast

Indeed, around 7pm the rally went into some sort of intermission. Often, there was nothing going on. Around 7:20pm, CSPAN2 switched to FEMA coverage. Around 8pm, CSPAN2 switched back to the R4R even though not much was going on. Then the guitar guy started.

I went into fits when CSPAN2 switched to FEMA, but in hindsight, I don't blame them.

Amiee Allen

I think the blackout was likely due to licensing issues with the music Amiee Allen was performing. I'm pretty sure that was the reason for the blackout on the C4L website as well, but I'm not sure if/how/why C-Span 2 played part of it-- probably an error.

BTW, this is my first post here, after lurking the site for probably over a year now? Woo.

Wrong time

Bob I think you listed a wrong time. Out here on the West Coast it came on at 5 pm PST or 8 pm EST. You were an hour off, I believe.
