"The Rally for the Republic

"The Rally for the Republic is the first step in alerting our countrymen to these dangers, and holding out the message of freedom as the only remedy. We must resist the false choices the two major parties are giving us." --Ron Paul, 8/30/2008

Transcript, Ron Paul on Fox News 8/31/08:

Fox: 20 seconds, What about this McCain/Palin ticket?

RP: Well...it still hasn't made a lot of my supporters all that happy. I have to say that Palin sounds like a very good person and has a lot of good conservative credentials, but nonetheless things won't change. We still know what the foreign policy is going to be like and the monetary policy, so we can't get too excited.

Ron Paul on Sarah Palin

For those who have been waiting for an answer, he was just on AM 1280 in Minnesota and was asked about her. He said it was a "shrewd" pick on McCain's part, and that she seemed like a good person who he hoped would help steer McCain in the right direction on limiting government and making it less invasive in people's lives. But he also said that you shouldn't "hold your breath" because McCain probably isn't going to be influenced like Bush was with Cheney.

He then went on to say he thinks people should vote for someone like Barr or Baldwin, rather then try and vote for the lesser of two evils, though he doesn't seem to have plans to endorse either (still.)

"The last thing we need is another liberal neocon in the White House. If the Presidency of George W. Bush proved anything, it proved the hazard of electing phony Republican conservatives. At least one is able to clearly see a liberal for what he or she is when they have a "D" behind their name. But put an "R" behind the name and suddenly their liberal, Big-Government, anti-freedom agenda is barely recognized, which makes a liberal Republican much more dangerous than a liberal Democrat." --Chuck Baldwin

After the stabbing in the back me and my daughter and friends

reseaved from the Republican party they will be lucky to get another vote from me (other than a Ron Paul republican that Ron endorces straight from his lips and nowhere else). They better hope nothing happens to him or the'll be lucky to get enough votes to get in the debates.

Yeah, Paul is being kind. He

Yeah, Paul is being kind. He wouldn't endorse McCain if the MSM started tearing his toenails off with pliers.

Oh I will reseach her that is for sure.

I have nothing against her but I would never vote for mccain so its a mute point.

bedr1 I am not saying anything bad about any of them

I actually at this point don't trust anyone but myself. To me their all in my business to much. I want them all too leave me alone and stop robbing me of my labor. period! I don't care what color they are if they are man or women. I don't care if their little green marshons. I just want to be left alone and I do not want to pay for all their pet projects or pay for all the liscenses and fees (taxes they pile on me and my family). I want the fruits of my labor And let me and my family decide where any increase should go. I have no problem paying a set tax that every individual must pay but they should have to find a way to work inside the money that is collected not raise it and lower it (which never happens) whenever they wish to purchase somehting they want.

Well then True Believer you should dig deeper

I know you are one for research, and what I am saying is that there is more to Palin than you see on the surface. She is a common person, that was leading a common life and knows what problems people have. She understands the tax issue better than most, she might not be perfect but is very good.

Those Ron Paul supporters from Alaska that are actually real delegates at the GOP said she is the real thing.

I think i'm going to write in Hilary

that way my vote will count against both idiots. hahahaha

I doubt if barr does either even if I vote for him

but does that mean I souldn't vote for him?

I believe he said he never met her

but then again, I hear that McCain only spent 15 minutes with her before making the selection. Saying you like someone, by the way and picking someone who could be put in the position to the President ( in McCains case, being elderly and unhealthy) are two very different things.

Too Bad She Doesn't Know What The VP Does

I do not know every detail of the VP spot, but I would think the person in consideration should -

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=30a_1220046965

Well, she doesn't. Why isn't the MSM spraying this around like a drunk peeing in the streets?

F' them. I hope a delegate revolt will shake it up a bit.

Fair enough, but I saw the interview and it was tongue and cheek

This is when she was being asked about the possible VP spot, and was taking the usually I am not interested stance and then commented on
what does the VP really do - it was tongue and cheek and thats why its not a big deal.

bedr1

what is your point? lol

True Believer here is my point

Dr Paul was NOT just being nice, he specifically said he hopes Palin can influence McCain. That means he knows where she is coming from and about her. He also knows that Palin is one that goes against the grain, just like he does.

What I am trying to say is look towards the future because Palin may actually be someone that we could get behind at some other date in the future.

In addtion, she was a Buchanan State Coordinator in 1996 and also said very good things about Ron Paul. She is against the Real ID and also said that oil is not worth going to war for.

Supported Buchanan?

Then why are so many denying that she supported him and calling it "Democratic propoganda?" Especially republican sites.

Dr. Paul likes to be nice.

I noticed that he's not endorsing the ticket.

Let's get a reality check

Let's get a reality check from Jesse Ventura. :)

Makes me nervous

Palin or not, if McCain is elected, McCain still will wage immoral unconstitutional wars. He will still steal our liberty and spend the country into oblivion. Sarah Palin will not change anything.

Is there a point to this

Is there a point to this comment? I am not voting for Mccain and Palin will influence no one and most of us here know that.

Dr. Steve Parent

The point is that this is "Daily Paul"

and it was something notable Paul said. Does it need any point beyond that?

Well Steve, yes there is a point

The point is its the first time I heard Ron Paul say he likes anyone in this Presidential cycle.

Of course we are not going to vote for McCain, but looking to the future there are possibilites.

I understand that you are pushing Chuck Baldwin, and thats great, but what the point? He isn't going to win, and he isn't going to even get mentioned on election night.

Its a total WASTE of time, and he isn't going to influence anyone here or on election night.

I agree

Who cares if he likes Palin, it didn't change his mind and why in the hell would it change ours. She is going to get molded into a Neocon anyway, they didn't bring her on board to change their plans. She will go along with it and like it or be done with Politics and thrown away like garbage.

Oh, she'll like it

her husband works for BP British Petroleum. She's already got the grease from lying down with Big Oil.

Hmmmmmmmmm didn't know being a production worker was off limits

Not sure working for BP is a big thing, he is just a production worker not an executive. Give me a break, how many people are typing on a foriegn made computer or driving a foreign car or work for a foreign company or buy foreign food.

The most he ever made from his job is $110,000 per year, and if you know anything about Alaska pay scale, that is not alot.

Don't tell me you've switched over from

trolling for Bob Barr to McCain? And is your new paycheck to scale?
