Ha...that "real deal". Surely some sort of talking point...that's gotten loose in the system. I've heard it hundreds of times trying to attribute it as Palin.

Political Cross-Dressing

The last week has shown the American people that the Democrat Party and the Republican Party serve no other purpose than the accumulation of power. There was a time when Democrats stood for true civil rights. That time has passed. There was a day when the Republicans stood for borders, language and culture. That day is over.

Since Sarah Palin was selected as John McCain's running mate, the Democrats have developed overnight a deep concern over the propriety of teenage motherhood. And at the same time, the Republicans have said that if you question whether teenage motherhood is good for America, you must be a sexist. In 24 hours, the Republicans discarded 150 years of morality because they think it will help them gain power. In a single day, the Democrats have discovered morality because they think it will help them take the Republicans down. It's the most absurd display of political cross-dressing our country has ever seen.

The two-party system is morally bankrupt. Here's what George Washington had to say about it. "It serves to distract the Public Councils, and enfeeble the Public Administration ... agitates the Community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms; kindles the animosity of one … against another … it opens the door to foreign influence and corruption … thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another." Over 200 years ago, George Washington, our first president knew that we would come to this point. So don't pretend that your party is fighting power for principal. They're fighting principally for power.

I consider (or considered) Sarah to be an upstanding politician far removed from the blatantly corrupt, good ol' boy GOP establishment in this state, whom she took on and kicked in the ass. They are still bitter about it, and still fight her tooth and nail at every opportunity. I give her kudos for that.

With that said, I do not see a whole lot else to distinguish her from the many other big-government, big-spending Republicans in this state or nationwide. I still see precious little true libertarian impulses from her, and having hitched her wagon to that of Grandpappy Warmonger points out that she is fundamentally, and sadly, not much different from any of the others, just younger and better looking.
