GOP Resignation BOMB!!!

We need to pick a date for everyone to mail their Republican registration card back to the GOP, with a letter stating how they can go fuck themselves with their corrupt ways and you're leaving them for real candidates.

A few hundred thousand pieces of mail all arriving at once, a mass exodus, a rapid withering of their party!

Because it is a terrible reflection on Ron Paul...you remember how he dodged the question at the debates? He did not want to be associated with the movement...Consult him if you want to affiliate him, because like it or not he is going to lose credibility with the public...We need all of the positive attention we can get, and this is not positive...

Ron Paul is finally gaining

Ron Paul is finally gaining legitimacy, and this extremely fringe issue that has nothing to do with his message can only hurt him. Praise Liberty, praise the philosophy that the R's are not abiding by, I don't care, but this associating RP with 9-11 is nothing but counterproductive.

We are going to have to agree to disagree...

If I quit, they win again.

There are counties that have almost NO Republican party.....Prime for RP supporters to take over and work their way up through the system.

There are other areas with old/inactive members that will be retiring/dying en masse in the next 4 years (in case you didn't notice from the delegates on TV).

We are younger and more energetic.....And we're pissed.....And we want it worse than they do. Quitting is exactly what they want you to do.

Kick their asses at their OWN game. Reconnect with all of your MUG members (you know, the ones that silently slipped away after the primaries)....Drag them into the party and change the party. We can NOT change the party from the outside; it must be done from the inside.

We don't have to support (or even vote for) McKeating 5 or any other neo-con. Just spend our energy and money helping those RP Republicans that went out there and ran for office to represent US!!

Please consider making this a long-term effort. I know that we are accustomed to instant gratification in this day and age.....But this is a long-term effort.

It would be easy for me to be angry right now.....But I refuse to let THEIR actions control MY emotions. Getting even will be so much sweeter than getting angry.

I would rather try to convince my conservative friends to begin supporting third parties such as the constitution party, libertarian, etc. I think that kind of revenge would be just as sweet.

Sistagirl86, you keep a cool head in a crisis. I hope you'll write more as we work through this rage and search for the most effective ways to promote freedom and depose the 2-party NeoCons.

Fact is, no one wins every time. We will likely LOSE far more than we will WIN. Do I like it?....No, but that's the way it is.

If we can't accept losing as well as winning, we don't need to be in this. Savor the victories, accept the losses and MOVE FORWARD.

Remember, we have some GREAT people running for office....People like BJ Lawson are counting on us to help push them UP into office. There are others all across this country that stepped up to the plate on OUR behalf. They're counting on US.

Those RP Republicans that do make it into office will absolutely need for us to work for them WITHIN the party.....Without us on the inside, they'll be 1-term only. The neo-cons in the party will barrage them with primary opponents EVERY YEAR that our people run. WE have to be their support system, their fundraisers, their blockwalkers. WE have to assume leadership positions within the party to make sure these folks get a fair deal.

If you can't stomach the ENTIRE establishment in your county, look for some of the smaller sub-sets (students, young, women) of the larger party and start there. Many of these are basically dead and would be extremely easy to overtake. Way easier to start witht the "soft target" than to try to take on the entire organization at once.

2 years from now we have a whole new set of opportunities to get even more C4L people running for office. There are shitty governors to get out of office (Texas, anyone?), there are ongoing issues (NAFTA Superhighway, RealID, etc) that must be addressed, not to mention all of the local races where our people can get their foot in the door. Use the ISSUES to hi-light the C4L candidates and beat up the neo-cons.

The fun part is over.....And I had a blast working on RPs campaign.

Now, we get down to the real work.

If you simply MUST resign from the GOP, please consider forming or joining an issues-based group (voter education, property rights, whatever interests you) and use that to lauch legitimate attacks against incumbents. Maybe you can help make sure the bad guys get removed when C4L people are running against them.

I just don't have any "quit" in me. I guess sometimes being stubborn can be a blessing. The party has changed around me, but I will not let it change me. I will stand and do my level best to deliver for those that are still counting on us.

but I'll just almost resign. I can only become a Republican in my state when there's a primary - it might even be just presidential primaries - and I have political plans between now and then. I'll still send something, but it'll be an explanation why I'm not fully resigning - because I'll be working to throw the bums out (more indignant in my case, considering my state's rules).

ETA: Oh, yeah, we have another rule that makes full resignation iffy. I wouldn't be able to sign ballot petitions. My "I wish I could resign, but I'm gunning for your bosses" letter will be supporting the bomb in spirit.

I did that already just a few weeks ago after registering with them for the first time in my life this year. I wish still feel the slimy feeling of being registered with that party for these past bunch of months. Its Libertarian to me and I will die before I ever go back to that party for a second time.
