Yeah, this last month was pretty troubled for stock markets world wide but I am confident that things will get better sooner than we think. Anyways, it's good to have best experts by your side when risks get too high, in fact it's good to always have them working for you. That makes me think about how really important it is to invest in young promising stock brokers, they can have vital roles in the future.

Try Oct Puts
Sept puts came off the board a few weeks ago!
Id recommend dec or jan puts in the spx if you wanted to get short. Those puts are priced at a lower volatility compared to the Oct and Nov puts. This means they cost you less. The trade off is that they are more expensive but you do get to own them longer! We should have a good panic sell off even as early as next week down to the 1000 area before we try and form a bottom.

I could not even get work as a WAITRESS for a while in the 80's. My little family ate a LOT of pancakes.
Then we got our degrees, and got on the "yuppie track" and watched our life savings burst in a tech bubble - as the experts our employers relied on to handle our retirement had heavily invested in the Nasdaq. But my little family had been through this once, so we hunkered down, kept paying our mortgage, and waited.
Our little town grew, and our neighborhood got slated as future Central Business District. We hopped the hoops to get rezoned, and put the place up for sale - May of 2007. We bought a little house out in the country, thinking we could handle the 2 mortgages if we had to, but having been assured that commercial real estate was FINE - we would have our other place sold in a few weeks...
Well, we are hanging on, but only because my husband is SMART. We would have lost at least one of the houses by now, but he got an old diesel and converted it to run on fry oil, and he put an SMACK booster on it. The increase in price in gas would have put us over the edge.
So, yeah, I never really bought the "American dream" garbage. They screw people out of their money, and from time to time, toss a few coins back at them to watch them dance around like fools over the crumbs.
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

12:00 MARKETS AT CRITICAL POINT!
Here we go folks. The Markets poked down through a critical level. They are currnetly chopping around at this level.
If it breaks down we are going back to 2002.
If it holds and the markets rally into the close we have a bottom.
I say "a" bottom. Given the record breaking criminal activity in our government this probably won't be the last time we see markets looking for a deeper bottom.

Lots of high volume spikes indicating buying (possible accumulation) on lows in the Nasdaq QQQQ's 5min this afternoon. Do you think this is a possible set up for a Monday rally?

Got short the Dow Futures before the first down 500 day.
Mitigated what could have been a huge portfolio hit.
Basically selling breaks of support and rallies to the trendline resistance.
Looking at some of the interest rate spreads and have started nibbling on a short term short in T-bonds. My estimation is that inflation is going to pop back up as something to combat and rate hikes are comming.
I'll miss the volatility once it settles down.

I'm no expert on Economics
I'm no expert on Economics but all the proof's out that the markets have been controlled for some time. Not surprised!
Manipulated, not controlled.
Sorry to nit-pick, but let's be clear. If the market were actually controlled, it wouldn't be collapsing. Controlling the market isn't feasible, no matter how the government tries. That's why the bubbles can't just go on forever.
