Aimee Allen > Sara Evans

Aimee Allen put on a much better show than Sara Evans at the rally. Not even close.
Anyone else surprised that Allen was so good? We've all heard her Ron Paul song, but her entire 40 minute set was great. It really put energy into the crowd before Ron Paul came up. "Universal Soldier", which she sang at Paul's request, was fantastic.
In contrast, Evans was b-o-r-i-n-g. At least 75-80% of the crowd left while she was on stage.

Aimee Allen is more my speed
not a huge fan of her (Sara Evans) brand of country

evrything started about 2 hours late
so really by the time sara evans went on, everyone was burnt out. i had to leave after jesse ventura because i had to work early the next day and i still had a 4 hour drive back home. i would have loved to see dr paul and sara evans that night but everthing ran so late. i thought amy allen was great the night before , but comparing her against sara evans isnt fair, they arent even in the same genre of music. i'm not a big country fan at all but i always give credit where it is due and she is a very talented country singer and although i didnt get to see her show i thank her very much for coming.
we love aimee for standing
we love aimee for standing up for us ... i dont even know if sara likes ron paul
Silence = Violence
I had never heard that song before... but I'm going to be sure to get it after hearing it twice...
She did rock! And I appreciate how she had Adam Kokesh introduce her...AWESOME!

I think I fell in love...
with Aimee Allen as she pumped her fist in the air and screamed the good doctor's name. Amazing performance, it truly added to the revolutionary atmosphere of the event. I want a dvd!!!
Aimee Allen was great!

Is Sara Evans an RP supporter?
does anyone know? I watched the event online and thought it turned out even better then I had expected. How was that other musican Rocky Lynn? I missed the first half of the R4R so I was just wondering
A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves.
I do know she is a Republican
She played at the 2004 RNC.
Whether or not she voted for Ron Paul, I do not know. But we do know that she is willing to be publicly and forever associated with him. Stars of her caliber do not make lightly their decisions to play political events. They know the ramifications of possibly associating with "the wrong crowd".
That Ms. Evans was willing to play at a Ron Paul event and be associated with the good Doctor, means she's a good egg, in my book.
RP2012!
Both of them top notch performers.
I stayed in the arena until they asked me to leave so they can clean up. The crowd was light for Evans because they were wasted after 3 days of non stop excitement. They should have had Evans earlier. R4R was a huge success and I for one am re-energized. Let's the games begin!

No doubt
I was so tired. It was all non stop non-stopness for three days for me. And I am young guy, but I was so tired by the end of Sara's concert. I was too tired to go to the after party with Jimmy Vaughan. Too bad, I would love to have gone.
RP2012!
I tried to go
to Jimmy Vaughan after party but the line was long and I didn't want to wait. I am so glad he sang that one song on stage. At least we can say we heard him at the R4R.

Sara Evens and Aimee Allen
I disagree. People left because Ron Paul had already spoken and they were tired from all the events. It had nothing to do with Evans as a performer. I love Allen and am not even a fan of country music, but musically Evans is superior. She and her sisters were first rate.
Aimee Allen
I got to high five her during her segment sincee I was leaning on the stage 8)
Sweet!
I got a nice firm handshake from Ventura after his talk....which was very cool!

Sara Evans
She sounded great and did a great job. I think perhaps they should have had her perform earlier when the people were there. Everyone had pretty much been wiped out by the time Dr. Paul was done, I mean we were there for liek 10 hours of speaches. I dont think they left because of her, they left because they came to see Dr. Paul and he had already gone.
She should have been a couple hours earlier in the show.
I thought it was great. It
I thought it was great. It was a long day if you were there from the beginning. I like Sara Evans but I too was ready to go. She is an incredible artist and I really felt sorry for her that everyone left. I think the fact that it ran late had a lot to do with it.
I like them both
I'm a country fan in addition to a Ron Paul fan, so I like Sara Evans. I'm not sure where she stands on the issues, if she was with us it would have been nice for her to perform during the actual primary campaign but it was very nice of her to to join us for the Rally. I think she deserved better than to perform in front of a mostly empty arena, so I wish more people would have stayed for her whole set, but then again my hotel roomate/ride pulled me out early too.
That said, Sara Evans is a great singer, but Aimee Allen is family, she's one of us, she has both the passion and the knowledge to be a proud member of our movement. And on top of that she's beautiful and very nice in person. My buddy was trying to get me to pick her up, but I think she's taken. Oh well, I'll have my photo and autographed program.
Embarrassed for us and Dr. Paul
"I think she deserved better than to perform in front of a mostly empty arena"
I was embarrassed that so many people left after Dr. Paul spoke. I think it would have been better had Dr. Paul been the very last on the agenda. I think it was rude that so many people filed out as Sara started her performance.
I understand that not everyone like country music, of course, and that people were tired because they were running an hour behind. I just hope Sara did not get too offended. She was a great asset to have on our program. Getting a multi-platinum superstar onto the agenda was a boost to many, if nothing else, then just for sake of adding the always desired air of legitimacy.
That said, I know she cannot get too political in her performances so I did not expect her to. But she did graciously thank Dr. Paul a couple times, and that was nice to hear.
RP2012!
I was also disappointed
people left after RP, but I understand. I did my part and stayed to the wonderful end. I am not a country fan, but after listening to Rockie Lynne the night before and Sara Evans I am a fan now.

"My buddy was trying to get me to pick her up"
LOL. I bet she doesn't get asked out very often. LOL. Hey, what can it hurt to try, though, right????
RP2012!
I met Aimee at my hotel, and ...
she is great! She's smart, committed to the Campaign, the Revolution and freedom. She's w/us all the way!
Her show was energizing and I loved singing out "Ron Paul!", w/the crowd and w/Aimee at the Rally. It'll always be one of those great moments I'll memorize forever!!
Sara Evans was a treat. What a great singer!!
At your hotel????
I didn't meet any VIPs at my hotel :( I guess they all prefer higher rent places than I can afford, LOL.
RP2012!
The hotel was a moderately priced hotel and ...
very nice at the same time. I'll bet Aimee struggles like most of us. We haven't made her rich yet, but when she writes more songs for our cause, I'm sure we'll help her get a little more "comfy". She deserves it!
I figured
I was just jesting, of course :)
I like Aimee quite a lot. I could not get to the merchandise table in time to buy her CD, though, and I cannot seem to find it online or on iTunes.
I hope I can get a copy soon, somehow!
She rocks, and she deserves every bit of success she is blessed with.

I'm a country fan, and a Sara Evans fan
I liked her, quite a lot. So did everyone who stayed. I'd estimate maybe 3-4000 were still around for her set. She was having a good time, and that showed. And the crowd was too.
But you could have any singer in this world at that event, and NOTHING by NOBODY would even begin to get the enthusiasm Aimee got for singing the Ron Paul Revolution Theme Song. ...twice!
I love that Aimee Allen, too. She's a great artist, very talented, and very easy on the eyes. I enjoyed both of their concerts, and each were highlights of the trip for me, in their own way.
Of course Ron's speech was THE highlight.
RP2012!
I'm not a country fan
But I didn't leave early because of anything Sara Evans did. The program was running behind, and I had to go meet my brother.
Sara Evans was great and it
Sara Evans was great and it was a shame most left. I guess it was a long day and people needed to go.
Sara Evans was very good
I liked both of them.

I think both ladies did a great job! I believe (and this is my opinion) that the reason the crowd was so small when Sara sang was people had to catch airplanes or drive back home (to other states) so therefore, they did not stick around. I really enjoyed Sara's performance and I think if her performance was boring to R3VOLUTION08 was maybe due to the fact that country isn't his/her style. As they said on stage we may not all agree on everything and this happens to be one of those situtations. The other idea is that most people just wanted to get the chance to see and hear Dr Paul. So please cut Sara some slack. She must be a Ron Paul fan or she would have entertained at the RNC.
True in my case
I was just tired and had to get on the road, otherwise I would have stayed to hear her.
