Why would McCain think Ron Paul supporters would vote for him?

Honnestly? The way he mocked and ridiculed Dr. Paul in all the primary debates.
He isnt consisntent in what he voted for. He is way to Liberal.
Why would you.. a Ron Paul supporter want to vote for McCain? Im guessing you wouldnt. So why is he even trying? Its all about winning to him. Who cares about standing up for what you believe in as long as you win. And thats the only thing McCain is worried about, Winning. Getting his face and name in the history books as one to the president of the untied states,

It's all about power. Power over other people's lives.
God complex mixed with false humilty.

What an example? Look at what God allowed to be done to His only son.

Probably a lot will.
I wouldn't. But there's a lot of Republicans who voted for Paul that weren't hardcore Paulites or hardcore libertarians. They're not the extremists like us who rant like us on internet forums. Remember, over a million people voted for him. Now that it's between McCain and Obama, a lot of them willl vote for McCain. If you're not going to vote Libertarian, and if McCain and Obama's foreign is pretty similar, then it's logical to vote for McCain due to him not being as socialist as Obama. I'll be voting for Barr, the Libertarian.

Because
He has a cute VP (believe it or not, I think that'll play) who has the right rhetoric, and many still have the "lesser of the evils" mentality, and to date, neocons are considered less evil than socialists by the general populace.
I'm not even sure he cares about winning
I think the presidential elections are carefully controlled and rigged, and there must be some perks to going along and playing the game.

Did you watch McCain reveiled on CNN. I dont usually watch news channels that helped in the Black out of Ron Paul but I was interested in what they had to say about McCain and I learned some interesting things about him that only fueled my dislike for the man. When he lost against Bush in 00 he had indepth deep talks with Democrats on switching parties only to become Bushes bestfriend in 04 when he was up for re-election. Alot of people describe him as always wanting to win.

if you're referring to the thing about McCain's campaign 'negotiating' with Ron Paul about getting his support here's the truth:
They were trying to get the list of his delegates so they could control them during the convention.
They were also trying to get the list of his donors (as if we'd give to McCain).
So all they wanted was our money and to keep us from causing trouble.
and in return, they were only going to give him limited access to the floor.
