Ron Paul on ballot here in Montana !!
Montana Constitution Party Submits Presidential Electors Pledged to Ron Paul and Michael Peroutka
September 5th, 2008
On September 5, the ballot-qualified Constitution Party of Montana submitted its presidential elector candidates to the Secretary of State. The party informed the Secretary of State that its electors are pledged to Ron Paul for president and Michael Peroutka for vice-president. Ron Paul was aware that the party planned to do this, and has said that as long as he can remain passive and silent about the development, and as long as he need not sign any declaration of candidacy, that he does not object.

Good comments from David Hart.
I think our state R party chair (Eric Iverson) even understands that we supporters of Dr. Paul will not violate our principles and vote for McCain.
The lesser of two evils is a lie, because you do not know they are getting less evil and you are hard pressed to mobilize people against "our guy"
You are rewarding bad behavior, think about raising your children what you reward is what you get more of.
It demoralizes good people, and the lesser of evils is still evil !!!
If you want things to get better, sometimes you must accept that things are going to get worse ( for awhile) before they can get better.

Thanks Shawn...
for this info. I'm glad that we have 2 months to make a difference.
Lake County also has many Ron Paul supporters. Let's spread the word, bro!
Does anyone here have an
Does anyone here have an address that people can mail campaign materials to? I would offer up mine but I live 2 miles away from our mailbox and way out here in the boonies it is sometimes difficult to arrange for package deliveries without having to drive allllllllllll the way into town. I know that most of us here have run out of campaign supplies so it would be awesome to be able to get those left over from other states.

"A cadre of hard core believers is the key to success. The total numbers and percentages are less important. Our job now is to plan for the next phase. As was the case in the campaign, this continued effort will logically continue to be a grass roots effort and not a top down rigidly controlled central operation. Most important will be the continued emphasis on the message. That message, simply put, is the message of human liberty." Ron Paul
Thank you so much Shawn!
Your amazing and devoted efforts are forever deeply appreciated :)
I got your email.

I have a question: what are
I have a question: what are the chances of Dr. Paul getting the New York Independence Party's nomination? Does he have to sign anything or not?
amazing
There are only a couple states I can think of where the spirit of liberty really shines and montana is one of those.

Thank you, Shawn4Liberty, for clarifying
the difference between the MTCP and the National CP - now I understand more what is going on.
I subscribe to Chuck Baldwin's columns and I will vote for him here in FL, where he is on the ballot. He respects the First Amendment and I believe understands States' Rights very well. He totally supported Dr. Paul throughout his campaign, until he suspended it.
Go Montana - what you are doing is very exciting and I hope you win!!!!

Re: Switching names on ballot...
There is a lawsuit pending here in PA, because a Libr. candidate got ballot access with over 35,000 signatures, and only recently "turned" over her slot to Bob Barr. Apparently, this type of manuever has been over-looked in the past, but now the GOP is not too happy that Barr may have the Nader-effect here, thus the challenge. So.....it probably depends on any particular State's rules....

Months ago...
I suggested that there might be some Steve-Jobsian secret plan, hidden well under wraps, to get Ron Paul on the ballot under various state parties, at the last minute.
We will see on the 10th if that comes to pass.
No matter who is currently certified as the candidate of a party, in most states you have until x days until the election to change your candidate. Usually it's between 30 and 60 days.
All of these minor parties could have put Baldwin or Barr on, but may have time to change their candidate in the various states.
I said before this would require a Steve-Jobsian level of secrecy....but anything is possible.

would love that

Wow..I think the CP has
Wow..I think the CP has Chuck on the ballot here in Arkansas. Anyone know if we can change???? That would be really cool, as there was only one delegate here for McCain, and the rest were for Yuckabeen. Not too many truly like Mc, but hate Nobama.
I think, in order to destroy any Diebold influence you should start a campaign that says DO NOT VOTE AT ALL..unless you vote for Ron Paul...
That would really mess up the Diebold counter..lol

Big Sky Triumph
There has been tremendous buzz on the net on the issue of when or whether or how Dr Paul will endorse Chuck Baldwin or Bob Barr since he is no longer available as our Republican nominee. Messieurs Baldwin and Barr have their own particular detractors and proponents, but they both endorsed Dr Paul earlier in this cycle, and both intimated that he should accept the nomination of their respective parties. He has determined to stay with the Republican Party as that is the vehicle that first put him in the House of Representatives and then later put him in the national spotlight. He is presently a candidate for re-election in Texas’ 14th district, and since, one, he is the incumbent, and two, he has no Democrat (aka “media approved”) opponent, then I think his re-election can safely be considered a foregone conclusion. That’s true only so long as he retains his Republican credentials.
Dr Paul has repeatedly stated that he has no intention of seeking the nomination of a “third party,” but also never said that he would resist if such a distinction were thrust upon him. He knows as well as you that this revolution is bigger than any party or any man. And it goes on.
For all our talk of supporting Dr Paul and being strict Constitutionalists, why don’t we read the Constitution and realize that Dr Paul can be elected President without appearing on a single State ballot?

I want to vote for Ron Paul in my state,too.What are the chances of getting his name on the ballot in Minnesota?
The Constitution Party is...
...even closer to Ron Paul's principles than the Libertarian Party. Check out their party platform at constitutionparty.com.
It appears that every issue agrees with what Dr. Paul believes in.
So I'm leaving the dirty, rotten, corrupt Republican Party and will join the Constitution Party.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul
How close is the Constitution Party to The Constitution? Well...
- The real question is, how close is the Constitution Party to the intent of the Constitution?
- It would seem, farther away than Ron Paul's stated principles and the Libertarian Party's previously stated principles (at least until this year, when they had principles).
- Here is the 'quick rundown' on the Constitution Party's "Seven Principles of the Constitution Party" from their web site...:
"1. Life: For all human beings, from conception to natural death;
"2. Liberty: Freedom of conscience and actions for the self-governed individual;
"3. Family: One husband and one wife with their children as divinely instituted;
"4. Property: Each individual's right to own and steward personal property without government burden;
"5. Constitution: and Bill of Rights interpreted according to the actual intent of the Founding Fathers;
"6. States' Rights: Everything not specifically delegated by the Constitution to the federal government is reserved for the state and local jurisdictions;
"7. American Sovereignty: American government committed to the protection of the borders, trade, and common defense of Americans, and not entangled in foreign alliances."
- Immediate problems areas that jump right out are #1 and #3, but there are many more problems as one digs deeper into their political agenda.
- Their #1 principle is an obvious reference to a "pro-life"/anti-abortion stance, which is technically a state's rights issue. Dr. Paul agrees with the Constitution Party's basic belief about preserving and defending life, but as far as I know, he is also in favor of the states deciding.
- The #3 principle, their "Family" stance... is completely bible-based and an unhealthy cocktail of religion and politics. Frankly, the entire issue of marriage should be removed from all governmental interference and should instead be handled as a simple legal agreement. The myths surrounding marriage should of course be maintained by each couple/family/church/religion as they see fit, but as far as our government being involved in 'defining marriage'... oh, my! Wrong!
- Issue: "Drug Abuse"... they are completely off on this issue. Here is the quote: "The Constitution Party will uphold the right of states and localities to restrict access to drugs and to enforce such restrictions. We support legislation to stop the flow of illegal drugs into these United States from foreign sources. As a matter of self-defense, retaliatory policies including embargoes, sanctions, and tariffs, should be considered. At the same time, we will take care to prevent violations of the Constitutional and civil rights of American citizens. Searches without probable cause and seizures without due process must be prohibited, and the presumption of innocence must be preserved." .... Problem: "...we will take care..." is their weasel word. Same as 'we're the government, and we're here to help'....
- Issue: "Education"... Well, they aren't hiding what their stance is on this issue. The quote: "All teaching is related to basic assumptions about God and man. Education as a whole, therefore, cannot be separated from religious faith." ...that is a whole bucket of trouble that is too deep to delve into here.
In conclusion, the "Constitution Party" is not even close to being in line with the original intent of our Constitution, nor is it in line with Dr. Paul, again, as far as I am able to determine. The CP attempts to graft Christianity and church into all aspects of our daily lives without regard for individual beliefs, which would simply result in a radical spread of right-wing Christian theology, and ultimately the destruction of our personal freedoms, including our "right to be left alone".

The party will not be elected president Chuck Baldwin will
Chuck Baldwin is 100% in line with Ron Paul. Yes, the Constitution Party selected him but no.... he will not do anything unconstitutional. Period. Listen to his speeches and how he answers those questions. It never fails to amaze me how some people will talk about things like they are an expert and manage to totally confuse others. Listen to Chuck and not what that creed says.

If the creed is different
If the creed is different from the platform, then they need to be updated to reflect their actual answers to issues. Frankly, they look like a front for a Christians-only agenda and they are trying to disguise that fact by keeping it hush-hush in their public face.
