Attention Libertarians:
The 2008 Conservative Leadership Conference will be held on September 18-21, 2008 at the Tuscany Suites Resort in Las Vegas. Four exciting days of conservative debate, discussion and networking just weeks before perhaps the most exciting presidential election in memory. And now you can attend one day, two days, three days or all four days…absolutely FREE. Here’s what it’s all about…
The conventions are over. Now the real fight for the White House begins.
While most Republicans have now rallied behind John McCain, a significant number of conservatives, libertarians and Ron Paul supporters remain undecided. And just a small percentage of third-party votes in key swing states could tilt the election to Democrat Barack Obama. That dilemma is at the heart of the debate which will take place among hundreds of grassroots conservatives and libertarians who will meet in Las Vegas for the 2008 Conservative Leaderhship Conference.
The overriding question will be: “Should conservatives and libertarians vote for the presidential candidate most ideologically similar to themselves…or for the candidate polling says is most likely to defeat Barack Obama?”
A couple dozen of the nation’s top conservative and libertarian leaders will address this question at the conference – many making the argument that the only logical choice for conservatives is John McCain, while others will make a case for voting one’s convictions regardless of the potential for helping elect Barack Obama.
In addition, the three third-party conservative candidates for president will speak at CLC ‘08…
* Former Republican Congressman Bob Barr – with impeccable conservative credentials while in office representing Georgia – left the GOP and has secured the Libertarian Party nomination. Barr is the LP’s most credible candidate since Ron Paul back in 1988.
* Conservative talk-show host and columnist Chuck Baldwin, highly regarded by both social conservatives and constitutionalists. Baldwin is the Constitution Party’s presidential nominee this cycle.
* And former U.N. Ambassador Alan Keyes – who ran against Barack Obama for the Illinois U.S. Senate seat in 2004 – is now running an independent presidential campaign in a handful of states, as well as appearing on the ballot in California as the presidential nominee of the American Independent Party.
The conference will also open up Friday morning with be a three-way panel debate over which presidential candidate limited-government conservatives and libertarians should support in November featuring Michigan Republican Party Chairman Saul Anuzis, Libertarian Party vice presidential nominee Wayne Allyn Root, and Constitution Party National Chairman Jim Clymer.
Also discussing the 2008 presidential race and the future of the limited-government movement will be a number of top conservative leaders, including:
* Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform
* David Keene of the American Conservative Union
* Pat Toomey of the Club for Growth
* John Fund of the Wall Street Journal
* Talk-show host Roger Hedgecock
* Richard Viguerie, author of “Conservatives Betrayed”
* Ward Connerly of the American Civil Rights Institute
* Rich Galen of Mullings.com
* Congressional candidate Lt. Col. Allen West
* Alan Gura, Counsel of Record for the recent DC gun ban Supreme Court case
* Paul Jacob of the Sam Adams Alliance
* Former Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth
* Chris Simcox of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps
* Danny Vargas of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly

I went last year
It was great, if you can stand the cigarrette smoke in public places (though enough of us were from California, it wasn't too bad on the convention floor).
Ron Paul's name was mentioned several times last year, as I recall.
I think Ron Paul won the straw poll -- but I can't remember that far back; he did very well, I know. The local Ron Paul Meet-up was out in force, and had a table. At that point in time, the LP was far from having a nominee and still hoping for Ron Paul to throw his hat in the ring as a Libertarian.
There was supposed to be a debate between the chair of the LP and the chair of the GOP, but the GOP chair changed his mind.
Romney made a hit and run appearance with obvious audience plants and a decided avoidance of audience questions from those wearing Ron Paul gear.
I'll bet several DailyPaulers were there besides me!

Has Ron Paul
been invited to speak? This conference, if it was genuine and informed, would build a concensus to back Dr. Paul for president in all 50 states, hard and fast and determined. If they don't do this, they have their own agenda, some of which agree with the elitists agenda of globalization.
There you go, forgetting to treat people as individuals
Who do you mean by "they"?
You're invited. Are you going? Are you going to "build a concensus to back Dr. Paul for president in all 50 states"?

Yep. Barr and Baldwin rank right up there with Keyes
I can't wait for Barr and Baldwin to dry up and blow away.
THEY ARE A DISTRACTION...and they could be an expensive one and one dangerous to our Revolution.
The most expensive and dangerous mistake
The most expensive and dangeous mistake is to pin your hopes on any single individual or party including Ron Paul.
Men are flawed. Electing Ron Paul would not solve all our problems and guarantee liberty for the rest of our lives. Believing THAT is the big mistake.
Barr and Baldwin are not the solution, either, but they're a heck of a lot better that McBama. They don't even have to win to have an impact in the right direction. We need them in the debates and they need to get as many votes as possible.
Ron Paul said it's easy to get politicians to change direction--they've got their fingers to the wind.
