For those leaving the Republican Party: This is what THEY WANT you to do.
As Lew Rockwell put it, "It takes steel-hardened cadre to enter an established group openly, with a revolutionary agenda, and face the inevitable ostracism, rancor, and ridicule." http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/022724.html
Be part of this "steel-hardened cadre," to which Dr. Paul belongs. Don't give in to them.Take Dr. Paul as your model. Don't give in to the "ostracism, rancor, and ridicule."
The way they succeed is by driving you away to a third party, where the cards are even more stacked against you and you have even less influence on the power structure. If you leave the Republican Party, you're doing exactly what they want.
I'm voting for Barr because there is no one in the presidential race in the Republican Party that represents Paul's views. But I'm going to continue working in the Republican grassroots and voting for Ron Paul Republicans.
If the neocons could take over the party, then so can we. Then they'll be the ones ridiculed and ostracized. And if we feel generous, we may even change the law to allow 3rd parties an equal opportunity to compete.

No..they do not REALLY want
No..they do not REALLY want me to quit, at all, they just want to change my thinking.. I am sure they like me to work on their projects, and donate money to them. I am not changing my affiliation, but I decided I am not working with them anymore. I will work for bringing the constitution BACK. What I am hearing from the damned neo cons, and even the RP people, is that they want to be in the GOP for power. They want to be a team player to get power in the party. Well I could give a flying leap across a toilet for that sort of thing. They did not care about the people who voted so that RP came in 2nd in their states. They did not care about the people in Galveston that overwhelmingly voted for RP over the other candidate they threw in. They showed him no respect for the votes he had, notwithstanding all of the People he represented, and they can kiss my butt with their eyes open. They want to WIN. That is what they want. No thoughts of policy, CFR, Diebold..NONE of those things are even thought about. Winning is what is so important. WHY? They will have won nothing. They will smile their empty smiles that exhibit their empty heads on true issues, and follow each other lemming-like off the cliffs of our country's destruction. I do not want to "pal around" with that mentality (if it can even be called that).
I can not wait for Walk 4 freedom to let us know about their presentation because I am going to put an ad in the paper and try to get people together to right some wrongs. If I only get one, that will be 2 times me.
Me too!

Since no one has read my post, I'll bury it here.
What do we do now?
I have been reading some of the highly emotional reactions to the RNC experience (both first hand and vicarious) and I have tried to categorize them for discussion. I have included examples for clarification. Naturally, there is some overlap in the categories and there is no reason why some people couldn't do more than one thing at a time.
1) "Every man for himself." Moving to New Zealand (or Costa Rica or Brazil, etc.). Buying Gold, Guns, Goodies (like a year's supply of food, a windmill generator, hydroponics kit, etc.) and living off the Grid. (Presumably until They come to move you to a concentration camp.)
2) "Circle the wagons." (Sort of like #1 only with company so you won't feel so lonely.) Free State Project. Paulville. Libertarian Party. Constitution Party.
3) "Holding my breath until I turn blue." Flaming friends and allies (like the delegates) for being "wussies". Ranting online about how unfair the GOP is and how you'd rather see our country go down in flames than hang out with those creeps. Canceling your Republican registration (a grand gesture that is sure to cause much lost sleep among the elite Republican establishment).
4) "Pray and hope for the best." Donate money to some worthy organization and hope that they will restore the Republic for you.
5) "Civil disobedience and/or legal maneuvers." Tax protests. Lawsuits. Sovereign individual. Petitions. (See you in jail.)
6) "Burning our bridges." Violent protests. Paramilitary movements. Terrorist acts. Throwing rocks, urine, ink or crashing conventions/meetings (ala PETA, Code Pink, etc.) in the hope that through these actions people will finally see that the Federal Reserve is a bad thing.
7) "Save the whales!" Join the Sierra Club, Green Peace, or Ralph Nader in whatever he is doing these days because even though this doesn't have anything to do with actually preserving freedom at least you don't have to talk to Republicans.
8) "Educate the masses." Join a non-political "educational" organization to explain to the common man why HE (instead of you) should become a good citizen and start defending the constitution by reforming the Republican/Democratic Party and running for office.
9) "Organize for victory." Realize that maybe, just MAYBE, we don't need to re-invent the wheel everytime we have a setback. Give Ron Paul the benefit of the doubt that maybe, just MAYBE, he knew what he was doing when he set up the Campaign for Liberty and decided that a good goal would be to work within the GOP to take over the Republican Party and turn it into something that we could be proud of. I know this is not a very easy or pleasant thing for most of us. It WILL mean a lot of hard work. It WILL mean taking some direction and becoming humble enough to admit that we don't know it all. It may even mean hanging out with people who are not as enlightened and intelligent as ourselves. It might even mean seeing the positive things in the people we would rather sneer at.
Personally, I don't think we can afford to be angry or depressed for too long.
Let's move on.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive."
Stand Fast!
As corrupt as the Republican and Democratic parties are, the only way to destroy them is from the inside.
If you leave, then you marginalize your own efforts. Ron Paul knows this and that is why he is sticking to his guns and fighting at the heart of the Republican party.
Just the same, I will write in Ron Paul, and I will be proud to do so.
Ron Paul's Convention Speech
RonBarr is either a patriot or a smart troll,
But, I agree with him on this one, giving what we know today.
I will wait to hear the announcement Wednesday before I decide.

This is how they win??
They win by alienating their constituents? They win by driving thousands away from their party? (Maybe hundreds of thousands if all the RP Repubs vanish....)
How is that 'one in the win column'?
They win by controlling the press, the players, the money, and the outcome. If anything, I believe they really don't give a good crap about us because we really don't matter much to them.
I think the shedding of a large number of registered republicans would send a pretty clear message to the PTB (powers that be) and those around them. They can't hide that sort of loss. Neither can the democrats. If they lose a quarter of their voting base and show no concern then it speaks pretty clearly as to what role we serve in either party.
In my opinion, we've already seen how WE lose. Thinning their ranks cannot be considered a 'good thing' for them.
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

Stay Republican if you...
Hold the Bill of Rights and the Constitution to be the supreme documents of our once Great Country. Stay "inside" and undermine the neo-con base because you will not able to "do it" from outside the party.
RonBarr, what a great troll
Leave the GOP today and join tomorow after they loose the elections!

If you keep kicking a dog,
If you keep kicking a dog, it is going to bite you. If you keep messing around in other folks' country their gonna mess back. If you piss in the wind your gonna get wet.
If a private organization shows me by their actions they don't believe as I do, or they don't want me, then I leave.
Thank you Dr. Paul for making my act on what I already knew was right.
*May the only ones to touch your junk, be the ones you want to touch your junk.*
not leaving, but expect to be kicked out
Sorry to be so bitter, gang, but I just went asshole deep in debt to watch Lew Moore and Drew Ivers convince me and my fellow Patriots to ROLL OVER. I am ANGRY beyond words at the people who voted for McCain, WHAT could you possibly gain that was worth that? I have been betrayed by people who promised me one thing then went back on their word at the last moment. The lies continue to pour into my email box, and I may never know exactly how many ways we were betrayed at the RNC, but I will STAY in the belly of the beast as long as I can and I will be pointing at EVERY liar or other form of SNAKE in the GOP and making NO BONES about it from here on out.
JIM RISCH is a LIAR. Bill Sali is a LIAR and a COWARD. Norm Semanko is a LIAR and a COWARD. Lew Moore is self-serving, back-stabbing political climber and a COWARD. Dr. Paul himself LET US DOWN in the way the delegates were treated, and BLEW IT when he appointed Drew and Lew as our "leaders."
I don't even know if I belong here any more, this is not about Dr. Pual for me any longer, this is MY FIGHT now.
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
I decided to join another political party,
but I still keeping my GOP membership.
Republicans
Just because you maintain your registration in the GOP doesn't mean you have to vote for their candidates! All it means is that in the 2010 Congressional races, all of you who change your affiliation may have to change it back again if a liberty candidate runs in your district.
I'm staying GOP, and voting for Barr or Baldwin in November.
GOP...
GOP Has a good foundation that I never left and never will they left me and I'm willing to convince people to come back to the party that used to be great.
The GOP used to be great?
When?
Republicans USED to be the ones who ENDED wars
Nixon was elected to end the JFK-started and LBJ-enlarged Vietnam war. (On the other hand, it took congress to -- ahem -- finally DEFUND the war to actually bring the troops home).
Ike was elected in part because of Truman's war in Korea.
In other ways -- primarily by actually being (sorta) Constitutionalists -- with Goldwater and Taft, very much so -- the GOP of years past, as Dr. Paul repeatedly reminds us, were a force for less tyranny, smaller government, and for a non-interventionist foreign policy. In recent decades, this core GOP philosophy has been eroded, and now we have the neocons running the party, which means the GOP is now effectively a corporatist, fascist group espousing a "unitary executive" (i.e., literaly, a dictator), aggressive "pre-emptive" war, coercive-socialist programs everywhere, massive and illegal spying on Americans and other unconstitutional police-state tactics, etc.
It wasn't always thus. Of course, if you mean "when was the GOP ever working to turn the US into a socialist paradise like Sweden (a nice place slowly eroding under the forces of government-imposed socialism) or Cuba (like every Communist nation, a plain-faced military dictatorship and slave state)", then -- until recently, never.
I don't find that very persuasive...
Nixon=campaign rhetoric
People like Taft and Goldwater were rare anomalies in the GOP history--they were just two people among the rest of the GOP (hundreds upon hundreds of government loving conservatives) for crying out loud!
Additionally, they weren't even libertarians.
Dems and GOP have both mostly been corrupt, BUT . . .
the GOP was indeed the party the championed free markets, smaller government, personal liberty, and non-interventionism.
Did they always follow through? Of course not; same with the Democrats -- in both cases, lies are a given during every election cycle. Still, if you go back far enough (farther than most people today remember), the GOP was the party that opposed war and the Dems were the ones who started wars:
Wilson = WWI [which we had no business joining],
FDR = WW2 [he worked to provoke the Japanese into an attack -- not to mention his concentration camps for Japanese-Americans during the war, his theft of the American people's gold, and his threats to pack the Supreme Court aimed to protect his unconstitutional programs -- the ones that prolonged the Depression and which are helping to bankrupt us today];
Truman = Korea, plus nuking two cities full of civilians;
JFK and LBJ = Vietnam (although I believe JFK might have pulled us out, had he lived)
Carter = NOT a war-monger; unusual among Dem presidents and he deserves much credit for that
Clinton = Balkans, including first major use of depleted uranium.
No kidding, folks: Dr. Paul is not lying when he says that the TRADITIONAL, original positions of the GOP were far closer to those of the Founders -- including favoring peace -- than the Democrats have ever been.
No, it's not enough, I agree, but it's why Paul has been a Republican for 30 years instead of a Democrat.
Leaving the Republican party!
Nope! they allready left me, I know its just because there still a sleep by the MSM And I'm here to Wake them Up! one at a time if need be.
The GOP is also a SPIRITUAL matter.
I remember one thing about the Republican Party. If i am right about 8 years ago or so, they changed their symbol, in - it' s a spiritual thing - an evil way.
So I think a real change to this party can only happen, or could happen if you RECHANGE THEIR SYMBOL.
This aspect handicaps the direction of this party REALLY HEAVY.
STAY REPUBLICAN - NEVER GIVE UP!!
What you have to keep in mind, & this was stressed at the campaign strategy seminar that was taught on Sunday in St Paul, is that most voters vote party line. If we abandon the Republican party, we lose all those (essentially) free votes. When we're running our C4L candidates for office, we need to concentrate on the undecided voters. THEY decide the election. How hard will it be for us to convince Libertarians, Constitutionalist & other like-minded voters to vote C4L? Not hard at all. If we can stay with the Republicans & get those votes from the majority of the people in that party who are "yellow-dog" Republicans, plus pick up most of the undecideds, we'll have it made.
People, have faith in the Campaign For Liberty! Debbie Hopper, John Tate, Jeff Greenspan, and many others worked hard on the seminars we were so fortunate to attend in St Paul. The HUNDREDS of people who were there have this information to bring back to you & there will be much more support forthcoming from C4L.
Don't give up on the battle tactics. 2008 was just the first chapter in our novel, "Take Back the Republic!"

Absolutely
they can and should vote third party in the presidential race, as Dr. Paul also encourages/recommends, but stay in the GOP. It is possible to retake the GOP....
(clap clap clap clap clap,
(clap clap clap clap clap, clap clap clap)
Dr. Paul has made it very clear
that he wants us to infiltrate the Republican Party. We should be glad to have our marching orders at last. It will be a distasteful job and indubitably take years, but knowing that this is what he needs, and that there are others, possibly thousands, out there doing it in their districts, will keep me going.
Ummmm
I'm not sure that this is exactly true. Dr. Paul has said that "this is bigger than just one party". And he has said that each person will have difficult decisions to make. And he has said that each person has to find his own way that suits his/her own talents. I think you heard him wrong on this. However, I think staying in is a fine way to go about it. I also think that WHEREVER our calling is, is where we must go to use all of the experience we have gained, and the talents we have.

Voting for Barr makes
Voting for Barr makes sense,I've said that before. But no one can or ever would be able to convince me that working within the Repugnants is either going to get us liberty, or in any way be productive to those ends.
To all of those that said this and that about RP success this year BECAUSE he was a Repugnant, I say, maybe he had this much success in SPITE of it! It took a long time for some people to switch to the R label to vote for him. I personally know a few people that didn't do it and are now proud of that decision.
Had he ran under that party label to get some initial publicity then drop them like those anti-liberty shitwads deserve to be dropped, maybe he be polling at 45% today. How can anyone say I'm wrong as no one can prove I'm wrong. You can't go by the past as EVERYONE knows, this year is different.
Bump.
Bump.
Man oh man.
JM
So to stay in a completely corrupt party is the way to go? Give me a break. The whole damned crew needs to put behind bars. I'd sooner go out in the pasture and grab a bulll by the b@lls than continue supporting these criminals. You'd have a better chance with the bull. The Republican party is finished. There's no hope for this party. As a matter of fact, the whole damed political system is nothing more than a complete farce. Help me out...........
JM
The Republican Party is not "finished."
It's just starting. And it started with Ron Paul and the Campaign for Liberty.
