We Agree - Paul, Baldwin, McKinney, Nader Statement

From the C4L site

The Republican/Democrat duopoly has, for far too long, ignored the most important issues facing our nation. However, alternate candidates Chuck Baldwin, Cynthia McKinney, and Ralph Nader agree with Ron Paul on four key principles central to the health of our nation. These principles should be key in the considerations of every voter this November and in every election.

We Agree

Foreign Policy: The Iraq War must end as quickly as possible with removal of all our soldiers from the region. We must initiate the return of our soldiers from around the world, including Korea, Japan, Europe and the entire Middle East. We must cease the war propaganda, threats of a blockade and plans for attacks on Iran, nor should we re-ignite the cold war with Russia over Georgia. We must be willing to talk to all countries and offer friendship and trade and travel to all who are willing. We must take off the table the threat of a nuclear first strike against all nations.

Privacy: We must protect the privacy and civil liberties of all persons under US jurisdiction. We must repeal or radically change the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and the FISA legislation. We must reject the notion and practice of torture, eliminations of habeas corpus, secret tribunals, and secret prisons. We must deny immunity for corporations that spy willingly on the people for the benefit of the government. We must reject the unitary presidency, the illegal use of signing statements and excessive use of executive orders.

The National Debt: We believe that there should be no increase in the national debt. The burden of debt placed on the next generation is unjust and already threatening our economy and the value of our dollar. We must pay our bills as we go along and not unfairly place this burden on a future generation.

The Federal Reserve: We seek a thorough investigation, evaluation and audit of the Federal Reserve System and its cozy relationships with the banking, corporate, and other financial institutions. The arbitrary power to create money and credit out of thin air behind closed doors for the benefit of commercial interests must be ended. There should be no taxpayer bailouts of corporations and no corporate subsidies. Corporations should be aggressively prosecuted for their crimes and frauds.

Barr just pulled an Obama!

lol Now he'll go on Glenn Beck and talk about how much he hates the War on Terror, but wants to win it :P

Here's the deal...

Ron Paul is ready to retire his seat in the Congo...I don't blame him.

Barr Barr isn't ready to give up mainstream politics. He wants back in to the pen.

Nader...I know personally from Connecticut....he's getting old...nothing to lose.

McKinney wants the powa' again. Also nothing to lose.

Chuck, bless his heart, such a long shot, he also has nothing to lose and ....well I'll leave it at that.

So we just got a statement of philosophy that will have no impact on this election and will be a distant memory in 2012.

It's up to us.

And it WILL be the battle of our lives.
And it will take every thing we can muster.
And we will have to attack every level of this evil empire, from within and without.

Ron Paul has given us a good start. But we will have to infect every level of the culture to amass an army of true revolutionaries pry their fingers of the powers that be, off the controls.

ecorob's picture

here, here...

very well put...its a very good question

what are we prepared to do...now, and into the future...

my own experience here in tennessee, briefly...
a new "man", a republican, challenges the sitting democrat for a state representative seat...i talk to the guy and ask him what he thinks of the patriot act...he supports it, he says...i ask him to explain it, he doesn't know anything about it, he says...but you support it, i ask? i explain it to him and he says he'll have to look into it before he can make a decision...long story, short...this is a regular tennessean, not a rich guy but jeezus holy mother of god! all of a sudden there is a 100,000 dollars worth of signs EVERYWHERE you look...who funded him? he didn't do it...he's been bought and paid for already by the gop, for the gop, of the gop...

so, back to your points of what will we do? if you (anybody) "runs" for office you can not beat "their" money...you must run on a message that trumps the money...remember that point!

it will be THE MESSAGE that gets you elected...good luck, i will help and i believe everyone else in the revolution will help to

O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!

its 'cos I owe ya, my young friend...
Rockin' the FREE world in Tennessee since 1957!
9/11 Truth.

It's always been up to us

But if all 3rd party voters combined can make up the majority in this election then I think that will be an ominous sign for the 2-party duopoly in 2012 (if there's anything left of the Constitution by then)

Take your pick, except Barr, since he did not show.

This is great. It

This is great. It eliminates the Bar/Baldwin split, without denouncing Bar. And it still lets us count votes for Bar and add in the votes for the other minors as votes for Ron in the post-electon politicing. B-)

"Obama’s Economists: ‘Stimulus’ Has Cost $278,000 per Job."

That means: For each job "created or saved" about five were destroyed.

Barr

If he doesnt jump onboard with this I cant see voting for him in november.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants

That's a significant point:

I'm sure Bob Bar had his chance and rejected it. Which means there's something about the agreement he can't go along with.

GREAT!

I'd been torn between Bar (my default, due to him having the Libertarian Party machine) and Baldwin (with less visibility but a better match, consistency, and direct ties to Ron). And postings from others here tell me I'm not alone.

This settles it. Baldwin (if he's on the ballot in my state.)

And Ron pulls another one: By coming up with a statement of principle that Bar can't sign on to, he gets to eliminate this split without explicitly denouncing the Libertarian candidate. B-)

"Obama’s Economists: ‘Stimulus’ Has Cost $278,000 per Job."

wow

Thats great.
The only thing that worries me is that Barr is absent from it. It should be common sense that all of those things are desperately needed in order to bring the country back.. regardless of where you lie in the political spectrum.
I may not agree with liberalism / socialism - I dont believe a socialist government can exist alongside real liberty, but I am glad that nader and mckinney have more respect for liberty than most.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants

So Barr is really not on board?

After all his whining about how sorry he is for the totalitarian positions that he has taken in the past. I'm afraid he is starting to show (or rather rehash) his true colors and it must be creating a riff in the libertarian party.

They Agree

However, if they can agree to those four principles I think they are miles ahead of either the Republicans or the Democrats.

jOhn

This sounds about right

now how do we make it happen ?

Why did this become a religious issue ?

Stop the NWO....It's just illumi..Naughty !

So?

Many are you are ATHEISTS. The rest of us are Christians, Jews, Moslems, Buddhists, etc. We all managed to work together to what we perceive to be the common good. There's nothing subversive in this agreement. That Barr didn't sign is a real blow, as I won't vote for anyone who didn't sign this agreement, and Chuck Baldwin isn't on the Georgia ballot.

If I were you . . .

I would get in contact with the Baldwin campaign and find out how you can help PUT Baldwin's name on the ballot in Georgia.

This Revolution is not going to happen unless we take it upon ourselves to make change happen. If you want something done, you'll probably have to do it yourself!

Action = Done

The deadline has already

The deadline has already passed in GA to get Chuck Baldwin on the ballot for the Constitution Party. The Constitution Party is VERY inactive in GA, unfortunately. The Libertarian Party is the most active "third party" here.

Good Stuff

This is the message that people need to hear. Hopefully some voters will wake up and take notice when the third party candidates adopt a unified stance that challenges the status quo on these important issues. They won't hear much about them in the upcoming "debates". As JV said, neither party will talk about such things because both are equally responsible and it's indefensible.

I wonder what happened to Barr. Is he caught up in traffic or is he not willing to join in this statement? If he is truly a libertarian as he claims, he should be eagerly supporting all four of these positions.

"It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from its government." - Thomas Paine

It's a wide spectrum of political thought represented in the

panel, but the assault is on the one-party system (1 party, 2 buffet lines) and their practical ownership of both the communications media and ballot access; both very basic problems and fundamental to the Demopublicans getting and keeping power. In that respect, I'm pleased to see the press conference taking place and I do hope that it gets a good play.
