Questions on the Ron Paul/Bob Barr relationship.

First, I wish to express an agreement with what RP tried to achieve Wednesday, 09.10.08 at the National Press Club. My wife and I are committed to voting 3rd party in our state. It's unfortunate that four 3rd party choices is not an option in each state. Therefore, we all must do the best we can with those on the ballot. My questions are: Did Ron Paul or his staff invite Bob Barr to speak at either the March on DC or the R4R? If yes, did BB decline? If no, why not? and did this influence his decision not to fully participate Wednesday? Yes, I'm referring to his endorsement of the four issues of commonality the others endorsed.

may have invited Barr to DC, but Barr could not attend in any case, as he was at the Freedomfest in NV. Paul has neither invited Barr nor Baldwin to the R4R as it is it about taking the GOP back to its roots, and not a third party. The meeting yesterday as about third parties.

Barr should IMHO show bold leadership and fire Shany Cory and Mike Ferguson and replace them with good alternatives, and also Wayne Root as VP and replace with Dr. Karen Kwiatkowski. This will rally the LP base, restore trust and enthusiasm and will be a very strong ticket. Karen is also attractive, like Palin, but much more experienced in all - national security, foreign affairs and also quite well known and respected from all sides and no "scandals" (unlike Palin).

Bob Barr.......

seems kind of weird to vote for,.......the guy shows up late to the "Revolution", wants to run for president, then makes remarks that are not in line of a Libertarian. What the heck is this?!?!?!
Pick any party regardless if you have agree with them or not and run for president under that banner!?!??!
He hasn't even really put himself out there as a Libertarian!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, Seems like another puppet put in for "just in case" measures.

Thanks for the thread. I now better understand my

personal choice, Christine Smith, when she said after the Barr/Root nomination, that the LP was no longer the 'party of principle' and recinded her membership.

I lost a LOT of trust and

I lost a LOT of trust and respect for Bob Barr today. An incredible amount of Barr's support was gained from Ron Paul's coattail. We need to stop handing it over to Bob Barr on a silver platter.

It's time that Bob Barr EARNS our support or gets out of the way, because the r3volution train is moving full speed ahead with or without him.

It doesn't matter anymore.

It doesn't matter anymore. If Barr made a commitment to show up, he should have followed through, or told Ron Paul ahead of time.

Instead, he didn't tell anyone and simply did not attend, even though he was in the same building.

Barr has shown his true colors and will be shunned by most Ron Paul supporters.

I am just trying to understand their relationship. Was there

some friction between them that I'm not aware of? If so, please explain. I am still amazed he didn't speak at those earlier events. Why not?
