Please Do Not Write-In Ron Paul
Submitted by Tyler Durden on Thu, 09/11/2008 - 06:40
I understand it's not right to tell people what to do. However, if you're thinking about writing-in Ron Paul, please rethink it. Ron Paul has now endorsed 4 candidates to vote for. He does not want your vote, because he's not running. I understand, he's the best person for President, but he wants you to give it to a party.
Your vote is a little bit of money that goes to a political party. Added up, it's a lot. We should vote for any party except the Republicans and Democrats. Think of it as taking money away from those parties, and going towards a fair voting system.
»

im still writing in ron paul
you do what you want with your vote but im sure as hell not giving my vote to anybocdy other then ron paul. the 3rd party has no chance. the sheeple of this country will not vote 3rd party. they want barry obama becouse they think he will end the wars. they want mccain becouse he is not black. palin was a smart move by ole mccain. were screwed 08. write in ron paul.
"Get Behind Me Satan" is what i think when I hear someone say
When someone says 'DON'T VOTE FOR RON PAUL", I wonder
about their motives... Excuse me for stepping on any toes but
that is how I feel.
I think now is the pefect time for all of us to start spreading the word to write-in Ron Paul.
I've heard that 60% of American voters are not satisfied with the main 2 choices available.
If that 60% would support Ron Paul and write him in, then I'm sure we would have a chance to save our country.
People who don't have on blinders know that neither McCain or Obama have the solution for the economy -- unless they would adopt the policies Ron Paul has been advocating.
Ron Paul has been warning everyone in Washington about
the dire situation with the economy -- YET THET ACT SOOO SURPRISED!?! I think we now have a window of
opportunity to get Ron Paul elected.
For those who are up to the challange, think of it as our last
"Hail Mary" and I hope that would inspire you.
Are the 60% going to give up? Don't they think our country is
worth fighting for by supporting Ron Paul? I think if they
consider the futures of their children and grandchildren,
they may be motivated to get the word out to everyone and vote for Ron Paul.
And,I think because Ron Paul loves his country and
knows how important the Constitution is that
he will "step up to the plate".
If not NOW, when???
Let's make the next few weeks count!
Never, never, never give up!
Voting for a legit candidate
Voting for a legit candidate can help the party grow. Listen to Ron Paul, he does not want your vote. It's not about voting in one of these 4 candidates. It's about making other parties bigger for future elections.

Diving the pro-liberty vote between 4 candidates is not going to
work!...Common sense tells you that!....The Media will ignore a splintered vote....
Ron Paul'08
We need to get Obama
We need to get Obama supporters to understand that he is not the messiah they all think he is. We need to get them to understand that he's just another worthless politician out to screw you over for your vote, so instead, vote for McKinney or Nader. Anyone but McBama.

THIS SUCKS!!!
As much as its gonna KILL ME to NOT write our good Doctor in, I know that he has said on many, many occassions that those votes are simply not counted. Someone said below to just write his name down on a piece of paper before you go in the booth...LOL.
I love McKinney
I like Nader
I HATE Barr (watch this Wash. Times interview about the 6:20 mark where Barr wants to make it a "3 way race" shows his complete disrespect for all other 3rd Part Candidates http://www.libertymaven.com/2008/09/09/bob-barr-interview-wi... )
I'll vote for Chuck Baldwin because he worked HARD on RP's campaign and he stands for the same beliefs.
I'd be willing to bet $$$ that RP endorses him at the end of this month.
"Whether you think you can or think you cannot, you're absolutely right!"
"Whether you think you can or think you cannot, you're absolutely right!"
But I want Dr. Paul to know I voted for his principles
But I want Dr. Paul to know I voted for his principles. Unless he is a valid write-in in my state, then I'll make a vote that the doctor can see and so will the press. If the MSM ignores the vote for principles then I would scorn them, if I wasn't already boycotting them.
Might I suggest voting for
Might I suggest voting for Chuck Baldwin then. Dr. Paul has said that Baldwin is the closest candidate to his views.

Write in votes will be ignored and candidates that just happen t
o be on the ballot(but have no underlying pull in the polls) will be ignored.....even if they get a bunch of votes....You need somebody that had a campaign with a party that is actually running to make an impact...

So I Will
If you live in Oklahoma, you have no choice. Write-in Ron Paul.
If you live in Montana or Louisiana, rejoice! You get to vote for Ron Paul!
If you live in New Hampshire, please vote for George Phillies (the other Libertarian).
If you live in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, The Dakotas, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming vote for Chuck Baldwin.
If you live in Arizona, California, The District of Columbia, Kansas, or Maine, you have my condolences. You may as well vote for Cynthia McKinney or Bob Barr.
If you live in Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, or Texas, you have my deepest condolences. You’re stuck with Ralph Nader or Bob Barr. Sorry.
If you can’t abide my recommendations, then, your State permitting, you could write in Ron Paul, your mom, your dog, or even Bob Barr.
But never Never NEVER vote for McBama!
This decision is rather painful for me, as it will be the first Presidential election for me (since 1976) in which I will not be voting for the Libertarian. It looks as though the Barr Campaign has burned that bridge, and it likely won’t be rebuilt until at least 2010.
For all our talk of supporting Dr Paul and being strict Constitutionalists, why don’t we read the Constitution and realize that Dr Paul can be elected President without appearing on a single State ballot?

Ron Paul didn't endorse anyone
Ron Paul basically said: Here are the 3rd party candidates (that aren't completely insane).
Vote for one in protest of the 2 primary parties.
The point is that he doesn't care who you vote for as long as you aren't buying into the 2 party system.

RP more or less did endorse
RP more or less did endorse all 4 candidates for agreeing to the 4-point agreement (bring home troops, down with big brother, balanced budgets, and lose the fed). He did not support the following candidates:
Brian Moore (Socialist Party), Roger Calero (Socialist Workers Party), Alan Keyes (America's Independent Party), Charles Jay (Boston Tea Party), Gene Amondson (Prohibition Party), Ted Weill (Reform Party) and Gloria La Riva (Party for Socialism and Liberation).
If you vote for a third party, you are directly giving them money (without giving them your own money). There are funds that get split up among the parties based on how many votes you get. Also some states allow for easier ballot access next election. Please, help get votes to the four candidates RP suggested.
Imagine people waving signs at busy intersections for 4 presidential candidates. That's never been heard of. We should do it! Support all 4 publicly, but ultimately vote for one. Afterall, that's what the good doctor did.

I don't disagree but
would point out that in my home state, New Hampshire, whomever gets the most votes gets the electoral college delegates. It doesn't matter if they are "write-ins".
h-daddy
Electors, not delegates
And this is how it works in every state: whomever gets the most votes, gets the electors. With the exception of one or two states that divide the electors proportionally among the candidates.
The problem is, if a person is not a declared write-in candidate, then who are the electors that will vote for him?
When a candidate declares and gets ballot access, he or she submits a slate of electors who are the true candidates in the November election.
A certified write in candidate also submits a slate of electors. But if a candidate did not certify as a write-in, then there are no electors who will be elected if that write-in were to win, which is why write in votes are only counted if the candidate has filed as such.
RP2012!
might as well write in mickey mouse
if you want to write his name down so badly, then write it down on a piece of paper before you vote.
Remember that Ron Paul is 73
I guess it's time for us to to realize he's 73. And on this picture with Ralph Nader he really looks tired and a bit haggard: http://www.votenader.org/email/general/2008/09/10/Ralph_and_...
He will undoubtly want to be consulted and contribute to whoever becomes president, but he's much too bright not to realize his own physical limits at the age of 73.
yes, exactly...because of his age...
Ron Paul will not run for President again, He has already said so. he is doing the only job he can and that is to mobilize the troops to step up to the plate in all political races (national, state, or local). that was the reason he decided to run for President, knowing that winning would be all but impossible. his motivation was pure...to bring a wake up call to this country on how far away the 2 parties have taken us from the rule of law laid out for them to abide by, which is the constitution of these united States of America. for that i will always appreciate Ron Paul.

In Kansas
unless Ron Paul files as a candidate for write-in then any votes for him as a write in will be not allowed.
So if Chuck Baldwin is not on the ballat then it looks as if I for the first time I will be voting for a socialist Cynthia McKinney.
