Song: The Last American Statesman

This is a new song by my friend the stranger

Don't need rose-colored glasses
With a brand new wide-screen TV
Coup d'etat now in syndication
Coup de grace for a pole marquee

Congressional shadows, marionette
Executives out of control
Silverware stolen, now its war eternal
And a gallon of gas for your soul

Lyres, Lawyers, psychos and thieves
Zombies just dance to the spin
Crowd is chanting, "Barabas! Barabas!"
Not that again

No hard feelings, jump if you can
From the Undead Railroad Line
Every moment gets more expensive
As you're running out of time

Twilight approaches the empire's edge
Darkness and liberty lost
Quick, say a prayer, light up a candle
Bow to the Rubicon crossed

Parchment empowered, the many make one
Echoes a Latin refrain.
Pray for the last American Statesman
And all on board this Hell-bound Train

Super old post bump

For my friend the strangerr, who wrote and recoded this song. And for Steve Dore, who co-produced it.

The Stranger(r) wrote this for Ron Paul in 2007. It is one of the songs on the new EP, along with "Something is Coming" - which is a masterpiece, in my very humble opinion.

The EP is called Precipice Moon

Looking

forward to the CD. Man, that is super old school. "User #4" I've always liked his posts. It's really hard to believe it's been over 5 years.
Good talking with you..

THAT was soooo fine!

mr. stranger: Enjoyed! Really like the lyrics on the BullNotBull site, too. Will have to put the music to the words on that one soon. Wonder how many people here understand the story of OZ or know the history of the battle that raged ($/gold/silver panic) in our land during the 1890's and up to 1913? Isn't History grand? We still have a silver land patent over here in MT. Thank you!

Thanks for the kudos

I'm surprised Michael posted it, he's brave. Just in case people get tired of high quality music, great vocals, etc., well now the daring have an option; more dark blues. And this kitchen table recording didn't even have the dog howling - one track from a one track mind.

Montana, excellent, I may move there. A lot of people want to come to California, I really should split, just to free up some space.
