So..SirFelix composed a thread about getting the 3rd Parties Debate access and exposure....which we know is really fundamentally important because right now the percent of Americans that don't even realize they have other choices is just too damn high....
So then...FolkTheory posts this fantastic idea....and if you pop them both together you wind up with brilliance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(course...it does require some of our "Ron Paul Spammer" abilities)
So here's FolkTheory's idea:
In order to get debate access...we know that McBama aren't going to let us "3rdies" in..so we have to entice them to come to us. Yeah, that's not likely either...so how about some "save face" incentive....
The Campaign for Liberty hosts a debate for ALL Presidential Candidates and for the "honor" of their participation...WE 3rdies will have a "Money Bomb" to be donated to the Veterans of America in the name of McCain if he shows up...AND/OR Obama if he shows up.
This will acomplish our goal of getting ALL candidates in a public debate (with the Campaign for Liberty choosing the questions asked), the public gets a REAL debate, the MSM gets the story of a lifetime, the Veterans get much needed money, and McCain and Obama get to save face and look like they support our Vets.
Now, could it backfire...yes...some how McCain or Obama could come out of this smelling like a rose...but we really don't have any other options so...lets take our chances...we have NOTHING to lose.
AND...one important note...we'd have to be willing to donate to the money bomb..and feel comfortable with were the money went. In this case...I think we all trust Adam Kokesh...so we could let him pick the best venue for the money to go to.
Now to set the stage...we "Paul bots" have to slap all of the MSM with our "invitation" and what the "prize of showing up" is...
If/when they grab onto the story how could McBama back out without looking like they are afraid or don't care enough to make a quick buck for our Vets?

Instead of waiting for C4L (or whoever) to run with this, maybe it would work better for local meet up groups to organize and host these debates. Contact each candidates campaign and invite them, use your local news stations/papers to spread the word when possible, maybe you can find a local org to donate a space to host a debate, pass out fliers and post signs, maybe hold a silent auction to help pay for the event, ask for volunteers to come help out, etc, etc. I see live feed being done, perhaps a local news station will come out... Allow and encourage the audience to ask questions. Most importantly, when McBama declines to attend, don't badmouth them to your audience instead use material read verbatim off their campaign websites. Leave it to the debaters to say "McBama's voting record doesn't support that statement"... Who knows maybe after several of these debates McBama will feel compelled to attend? If not, you're still getting word out. One thing is for sure people really are not happy with the choices they have been spoon fed OR the way the establishment runs debates (among other things). Use that, maybe we can brainstorm a great title for such debates? Debates by the People?

Oxford Ms debate is on the 26th of this month!! and the oxford meet up is not active any more, this is a red state, freedom/guns but these rats jumped ship this year and voted mostly Dem. for Hitlary so that Obamma wouldn't win, I think this would be a great place for a third party to get a lot of votes now that Obamma did get the Dems. crowning. What do I do?? My thinking is if I could get some people from Memphis Tn and surrounding states to come help WAKE PEOPLE UP before the debates. and by the way all 7 candidates Will be on our ballot. what do you think?

Was the Oxford meetup the only in your state? It may be worth checking with other meetup groups nearby, like you stated... If that doesn't work maybe a pro 2nd amendment group (or some other like minded org) may help? The Ronvoys were using Craigslist... might be worth a shot? Is it too late to place a half or full page ad in some papers? Get some face to face time with as many people as possible, fliers and signs are always a plus... Don't really know what else to offer, If I lived closer I'd help where I could. Best of luck to you!

My apologies for the poor choice of words. I did not mean for us to drop the idea. I just meant for us to have patience while we wait for feedback from the C4L. Meanwhile lets develop the parts of the idea that we can.
I'm well aware that none of the third parties will win. When I said third parties, I was actually thinking about the C4L and Baldwin campaigns.
I was playing devil's advocate for the C4L in that maybe they were weighing other alternatives uses for the funds that could possibly get third parties into the debates. There is a lot going on behind the scenes that we don't know about.
This post has only been up for a few days so lets give it some time and continue to brainstorm while we wait.

Yes, Jan..I am really sorry. Without someone's support, like C4L or Trevor, I doubt I would know enough to get this going, and no sense bothering the League of Women voters if no one would help. With this sort of response it would be even hard to raise the million.

Plus! any of you that have desided on which candidate you will support, Have you thought about trying to be at THESE DEBATEs,that might be in you next state also. Make it like the campaign trail was, be there a day or so earlyer to hand out info,wave signs, talk to people to let them know that there is going to be a debate in there town and that they don't have to vote for the lesser of the two evils.This could be a great chance to WAKE MORE PEOPLE UP!! what do you think?

and you don't need the MSM. Attack the major party candidates enough, and they'll have to address the real to defend themselves. Identify the four corporations that own our media and dump their stock. If you can't make 'em see the light, make 'em feel the heat...

Adam thought the idea was brilliant!!!! (his exact words) He also gave me websites for two different Veteran's orgs. that put the money to really good use. He hopes that we can get this idea off the ground...
AND...he also said that in the event that McCain/Obama don't show up..the money SHOULD be returned to the donors. (not go to the Vets because it defeats the purpose, not go anywhere else because people didn't agree to donate to anywhere else)
The only problem with that is that the way these are usually set up is that we donate to the "mother" site and NOT to a secondary site that makes one big donation....so the only way to do this SAFELY is to have the money go to the Vets anyway...which is why PRESS is going to be sooooo important...to make sure EVERYONE knows that it's because McBama HAVE TO SHOW UP.... like they have to publicly agree to come...then we donate...then on the day if they don't show we slam them.

1. They can come to our debates where the candidate would get equal time.
(The offer has to be presented so that they can’t refuse and give the excuse that it was a hostile event biased against them. League of women voters lends credibility..)
2. Or, they invite the 3rd parties into the main debates. Suppressing the message would be more difficult for them if they had an additional three candidates keeping on message.
As much as I want the veterans organization to get the money it would be a greater negative impact on the 2 candidate if by not joining they prevented the veterans from getting the donations.
Considerations:
- If we schedule our own debate or R4R type event then the 2 parties can schedule they own debate simultaneously in a distant city with all the media.
- If we wait for them to schedule their debate then we can copy the R4R and schedule nearby if not invited and share in the media coverage. Also, we will have pressworthy news that we are waiting for the invitation so that 1 million can be donated to veterans, otherwise it will be donated to continue the Campaign for Liberty to continue the cause. Questions are raised about their support of veterans and the exclusion.
- If exclude we may want to hold an R4R type event nearby where we hit on the main issues they are not talking about. A debate might split our unity and dilute the message.
- The 2 parties said there will only be two debates. They may wait till the last minute so that Americans don’t have time to think too deeply about the issues.
- Paul/Baldwin/Nader/McKinney could start a joint speaking tour discussing their points of agreement. Public perception of 3rd party unity would be cemented and large crowds would gather.
Which choice is most likely to raise the most donations? (Depends who is donating.)
A. Veterans receive the money either way. (Very worthy but funding for freedom is limited and there would be no downside for McBama.)
B. C4L receives the money if 3rd parties aren’t invited. (Limited funds are not diluted.)

If he is not FOR it, then it is moot, probably. If he likes it, THEN we have to find out if each 3rd party candidate would show up if we did it. THEN we have to see if League of Woman Voter's would "host " it, or not. AFTER that, we have to issue the challenge, and start to raise money like HELL. It may be hard to raise the million, but NOT if all the 3rd parties contribute too..remember, if McBama does NOT show up, the million will go to them.
Also, beyond the million dollar fund, we have to start raising money for ads. They should go in NEWSPAPERS, like classified sections, everywhere, but ESPECIALLY in the states with the most electoral votes.
This can be delayed no longer or we have nowhere's near enough time.
