The REAL reason Barr didn't attend the Unity Conference

Two days later, it finally hit me like a bolt of lightning.
It's so obvious:
Barr DOESN'T AGREE to one or more of the Four Points. He didn't want to appear, because he realizes he's not in this movement for the long haul, and he doesn't want that document on his permanent record.
The question is: Which one(s)?

I never liked or trusted Barr, and he is showing his true colors.

Mr. Barr missed a tremendous opportunity.
People were holding out still and they feel Dr. Paul has now released them.
If in eight years this turns out to be an important event, I can only imagine how the LP will be viewed, much less Mr. Barr.

That's Dr. Paul's fault
for Nader's fundraising going up. He inadvertantly is helping promote socialism.
Barr appearing at the conference would have helped fundraising for Nader go up to. That's not what Barr wanted to accomplish. I think Barr made a great decision. Neither Barr nor the libertarian idea of free-market capitalism would not have benefited by attending by Barr attending the press conference.

I don't know what kind of reconciling would be in order.
Barr doesn't have a problem with Paul. He even asked him to be his VP after the press conference.
The main problem is Paul's staff.
I really doubt Dr. Paul's feelings were hurt.
I think it more likely that Paul is bitching out some of his staff for not telling Barr what he was being set up for.

I see a little pride in that statement.
Beyond that, I am sure you are at least half correct.
Now all Mr. Barr has to do is swallow his pride, forget about that half that he is correct about, and get it done.
Some of us are waiting for that.
I have no doubt that Paul will be voting for Barr, but will probably not endorse because of his ties to Mr. Baldwin. He may, and I stress "May" come out on the eave of the election and say that he is voting for Barr, but will not come out with a clear endorsement.

I guess it's too much to ask that all of us be adults about accpeting politicians having differing ideas about the best campaign strategy for liberty. I think Dr. Paul is going about it the wrong way, but I'm not going to disown him because of that. These are just strategic disagreements, not disagreements on philosophy.
