Bob Barr is an Enemy to Ron Paul's Cause
The facts are that Bob Barr;
1) Stabbed Ron Paul in the back by not attending a press conference that he had committed to showing up for.
2) Further, he did not even have the decency to tell Ron Paul he was not coming - leaving Ron Paul hanging - thinking and saying on TV that Barr was still going to show. Barr was in the same building.
3) Then Barr apparently tried to humiliate Ron Paul, or outdo Paul's press conference news coverage, by asking Ron Paul to be his VP on the same day he snubbed Ron Paul, and then going on the news to talk about it.
Let's get this straight.
Either Bob Barr could not see the forest for the trees of what Ron Paul is trying to do for this country, is completely selfish, or is working for the GOP.
I believe Bob Barr was encouraged to run by the GOP in order to catch the votes of all disaffected Republicans; rather than risk having them go to Obama.
Bob Barr is literally a piece of GOP garbage.
Especially in politics, words mean nothing, actions mean everything.

You are probably one of the people who helped Dr. Paul lose in the primaries with your anti everything posts on major blog sites. There are a vocal minority in our movement that are doing great harm, by they think they are leading.
Our movement will never succeed when some are so out of touch with reality and think everyone is out to sabatoge our progress.
It will never go mainstream if people like this keep putting the face on it.

I don't think Bob Barr is our enemy. I don't like him, but I think he's just acting like a politician. That's what he is, after all. I think what's happening here is that the LP decided back in 2006 to water down its message to appeal to a broader audience, and the Barr nomination is the natural result of that. They didn't count on the Paul phenomenon, and that screwed everything up for them. Barr doesn't have the record to back up his stated positions. Ron Paul does. Baldwin is NOT a politician. I see him running an educational-type campaign seeking protest votes. I choose Baldwin in this case. I have that option in Virginia. For those who don't have that option, there are other choices. None of our choices will win. None of our choices will be in the debates. But... we still improve our chances in 2012 choosing either, if those choices lead to a bad loss for McCain.
Ron Paul 2012! I don't care how old he'll be. I'd still vote for him if he were confined to an iron lung, and only able to communicate via Capt. Pike-style beeps and lights (Trekkies will know what I mean). The thought of President Paul beeping NO continously warms my heart.

It was a faction within the LP who managed to gain an advantage, maybe because too many hard core LP'ers had joined the RP campaign. I doubt this will happen again in 2012.
A faction with a winning majority. Twice.
This faction apparenty is large enough to have changed the platform at one convention, and nominate Barr at the next. That's a big faction. Dr. Paul wasn't running in 2006, so that can't be the whole story.
