Has anyone else had enough of the Barr People crap here COME HERE AND SEE WHAT BARR HAS DONE.
Ok enough is enough. The Barr campaign is over deal with it.
There is no way to defend Barr after all of these issues listed below as well as countless other issues not listed. Does everyone remember revolution march? Barr said NO I am not speaking at the march speak at our march, that's right he said NO!
I am posting links to everything Barr and his campaign has done in the last 3 days.
I am also going to bump every post on these issues and I would hope everyone else helps me until they stop trying to defend him here!
It is over go to barr forums!
This includes Barr's campaign manager praising George W Bush for his great leadership on 9-11. Did anyone forget 9-11 stripped all of us of every freedom and liberty we had?
This includes David Nolan - co-founder of the LP saying the Barr campaign is officially over and don't send any money to his campaign!
This includes the board of trustees of the LP demanding Barr be removed from the ballot in Michigan!
This includes C4L staff telling all of us how Bob Barr is a liar!
This includes Adam Kokesh stating how Barr is a liar and how he retracts his previous endorsement of Barr at Barr's press conference!
Barr's PAC spent only 3% on liberty minded candidates.
Shall I go on? Barr is finished here and Chuck Baldwin is now who I support. Barr is done let's move on.

VOTE THIRD PARTY! We
VOTE THIRD PARTY!
We Agree
The Republican/Democrat duopoly has, for far too long, ignored the most important issues facing our nation. However, alternate candidates Chuck Baldwin, Cynthia McKinney, and Ralph Nader agree with Ron Paul on four key principles central to the health of our nation. These principles should be key in the considerations of every voter this November and in every election....
Foreign Policy
Privacy/civil liberties
The National Debt
The Federal Reserve

Whatever happens, just make sure your friends and family vote 3rd party. It is McCain and Obama that are our enemies. Our goal this presidential election is to support all 3rd parties. Most people don't follow this stuff as closely as we do. Some people would rather vote for McCain (BOO!) than Green Party and Baldwin is not always on ballots or is sometimes not known to people. Let's not give people any reasons to vote for the war candidates Obama and McCain.

Ron Paul
Mary Rewart 2008
I think the whole thing is
I think the whole thing is just sad. If the LP had chosen someone better than Barr, the Ron Paul supporters would have been more than happy to rally around that person. The LP was the one who gambled with Barr, and now they have to deal with the consequences. They are the party of personal responsibility, are they not?
Now, if the LP wants to bury itself instead of bringing in new people, that's their business. On the other hand, if the Barr campaign continues to attack Ron Paul (and no one else mind you), as they have done repeatedly, then that is our business.
In summary, the LP wants to sink itself? Fine. It wants to bring Ron Paul down with it? Not fine.
Attacking Ron Paul is the most stupid strategy I've seen yet, in the first place. But if the Barr campaign continues with it, I doubt they'll be happy with the outcome.
Sink yourself if you'd like -- just leave Ron Paul out of it.

It is obvious, Barr wanted something in line of an endorsement or joint meeting with only him or perhaps with Baldwin, but not Nader and McKinney. I know what they mean, but thinking over it, Ron Paul has managed to get an important breakthrough:
The meeting was not only to signal voting for a third party candidate, and Paul has NOT endorsed all 4 candidates either (miscommunication or misunderstanding from the Barr camp side?). Paul has endorsed the 4 point plan and I think it is a tremendous breakthrough, as the document constitutes a moderate libertarian philosophy with which all different four parties agree.
Also: the philosophy of liberty is NOT only promoted by the LP, anyone in any party can promote it in some way or another. Barr himself has said inside the heart of every American beats the heart of a libertarian, e.g. it is a mainstream idea. In this way also Nader and McKinney respresent quite libertarian-constitutional ideas. Nader had a very good speech (better than Baldwin that only mainly spoke about the NWO and immigration and not the constitutional breaches).
Barr should simply have attended the short news conference, and it would have been enough to gain trust and more support and he may also had the interview with Wold Blitzer, together with Nader and Paul. Hopefully he will see this mistake and rectify it. It is still not over, but Barr needs to think about all these issues and the wisdom of Paul.
Another thing: Dr. Paul (better than Barr) knows very well he received also support from Green Party members, very leftwing anti-war people etc. and based on the concept of voluntarism, he cannot tell these people vote for Barr or Baldwin.
Paul also realises you need building alliances in the liberty fight against the two party system, and that the "soft libertarian vote" - that CATO estimated to be 20% and based on primary support - it currently not going to be enough to be a dominant force. If you have the combination of 4 main third parties
get say over 25% of the vote in November, it will already form a good basis for breakthroughs later, perhaps already in 2010 or success with moving either of the major parties much more in a libertarian direction.
Look, there are differences in strategy: Barr and others wanted Paul to drop the GOP, and probably thought after the terrible treatment by the RNC Paul would be tending to join a third party, but I think our Dr. Ron Paul is so wise to not go third party/indy at this stage, also knowing that the RNC does not equal the Republican party e.g. that there are different factions in the GOP and Dr. Paul has allies in the GOP that can help effect change, including some of the candidates Barr's PAC also supports, like Dr. Paul Broun, that do not have a good record on the war-voting, but furthermore quite a good record and stance. Dr. Paul knows the power of alliances. Within the GOP, there are also different alliances. In both the LP and CP, there will be elements with which Dr. Paul would not agree also, so why go to a third party, when you can work for change within a major party. The future direction of the GOP will be determined by the outcome of the election and beyond. It would actually be the best if the GOP loses, then the neocons can be rooted out easier and new alliances formed and Dr. Paul take a leading role. Believe me,
the prime issue witht he parties is to win, they will do anything...and if the Dems win because of the war and then continue with war in Afghanistan, growing govt. etc., the GOP will go back to its roots and be the anti-war party again, in order to win congress and senate in 2010. The same happened in the UK, where the Conservative Party switched in foreign policy and went from being more hawkish than Blair/Brown's Labour to being more "dovish" than them and it is polling well for them.
If Kerry had won in 2004 - Dr. Corsi not done his swiftboat attack - then Dr. Paul may well have been the nominee of the GOPin 2008 and the GOP may not have lost their senate/congress majority in 2006.
Wonderful to have Dr. Paul still in politics. He will have a much stronger position now than ever, e.g. his vote will carry more weight and he his best years in politics is still to come. There are politicians that are more than 10 years older than Dr. Paul and still ctive.
Correction
Barr was already scheduled to speak at the Freedomfest in NV during exactly the same time as the revolutionsmarch. He could not bail out and it was important that he speak there. This is the important yearly event where Dr. Paul, Barr, judge Napolitano, Lew Rockwell etc. etc. also spoke and which some Ro Paul candidates also attended. NV is also a very libertarian state and DC NOT so.
As to the other issues: I think it is more about a difference in strategy, than in any principal. I do think Barr should have attended and the issue seems to be with the aides. The problem - as David Nolan - pointed out - is with his campaign people, Russ Verney, Shane Cory (both of them NOT Libertarians) and Mike Ferguson.
The action this week seems strange as in Barr's campaign he has reached out to left wingers by attending the Netroots meeting, reacting favorably to a right libertarian and left liberal cooperation with regard to FISA, Patriot Act etc. during his bloggingheadstv discussion with Joan "Hermsher" of firedoglake, who also has the "strange bedfellows" thing. (BTW: Chuck Baldwin has NO record of reaching out or discussion with the left, except for Dr. Paul's initiative). One should from this actually suspect Barr should have been open to attend a meeting with Nader. It was noted some in the Barr camp objected to meeting with Cynthia McKinney.
The whole thing is actually quite ironical: it is the "purists" in the LP that has been critical of Barr's "moderate libertarian" campaign (David Nolan described in an earlier article Barr's campaign with regard to PR's and the amount and quality of news coverage), while Dr. Paul was seen more as a (Rothbard) radical libertarian. And now we have "moderate libertarian" 4 point document 4 different parties agree with, while in the Barr campaign they say it is not "radical libertarian" enough.
The responsibility for "snubgate" lies with Russ Verney, and not Bob Barr, as Ed Garris and David Franke (of ultimateronpaul.com etc.) also think:
http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/022847.html
Barr could possibly shake things up and restore trust by sacking a few people, and/or straighten out the differences with Dr. Paul personally. It would be best if Dr. Paul and Barr can meet in person without any campaign personnel. Time will tell.
Barr is Barred!
Sorry, but the Libertarian Party isn't the Democratic Party.
He's not going to have a press conference say, "I smoked Ron Paul, but I never inhaled" and everything is going to be fine a dandy.
The guy shattered whatever base he had and it's over for him politically unless the Neocons are going to start funding him again.

Barr didn't do anything wrong. And you neglect to point out that
David Nolan in the same message said "By all means, vote for Bob Barr in November. I plan to, and I urge every Libertarian to do likewise. Whatever vote Barr receives will be seen by most people as "the Libertarian vote" and we want that to be as high as possible. And if you want to campaign for Barr locally, then do so. Print up flyers, put up homemade campaign signs, etc." http://www.nolanchart.com/article4805.html Leave it to you to leave out critical information.
Barr did nothing wrong. Paul's campaign staff didn't give him the full details of the press conference when he was invited. These are not minor details either. This is a pact with SOCIALISTS. Barr did the right thing. He disagrees with Dr. Paul's merging of the left and the right, which he believes will water down the message, and took a stand against it. I respect him more because of it.

yep
every time I see you, I realize your still a moron.
So the LP clearly says Barr
So the LP clearly says Barr is not a libertarian but they will vote for him anyway? Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black when they talke about the D and R parties?
Dr. Paul has made it clear what to do and the closest person to his views is Chuck Baldwin
He also stated DO NOT SEND THE BARR CAMPAIGN ANY MONEY!
YOU LEFT THAT OUT DIDN'T YOU?
By all means, vote for Bob Barr in November. I plan to, and I urge every Libertarian to do likewise. Whatever vote Barr receives will be seen by most people as "the Libertarian vote" and we want that to be as high as possible. And if you want to campaign for Barr locally, then do so. Print up flyers, put up homemade campaign signs, etc. But do not, under any circumstances, send any money to the Barr '08 campaign. Most of the money will be wasted, and the rest will be spent muddying the waters about what genuine libertarianism is all about.
But all that would be beside the point if Bob Barr were campaigning proudly as a Libertarian and taking advantage of every opportunity to reach out to like-minded Americans.
Unfortunately, he's not. Following advice from his campaign manager, Russ Verney, Barr has avoided use of the "L" word wherever possible. There's a big empty space in the banner at the top of the Barr '08 website, where the word LIBERTARIAN could (and should) appear. It doesn't, despite several suggestions that this be remedied. Barr's campaign literature, signs and bumper stickers do not include the "L" word either. And a press release issued by the campaign earlier this week describes Barr as a "Former Congressman" with no mention of the Libertarian Party.
Clearly, Barr is not running as a Libertarian; he's running as an independent candidate: "Former Congressman Bob Barr." Which may be just as well, given the way he's been behaving.

I think I'm starting to lean towards voting for Baldwin. I know there was a time I was leaning towards Barr but it seems that Barr is a douche-bag. Baldwin may be a little too much for me but he does love the Constitution. Again, I won't know until I get my absentee ballot next week or so (well, here in Chile the 18th is going to be a long weekend) and definitely vote anti-duopoly.
Don't drink too much chicha or piscolas....
you'll end up voting McCain if you don't watch it. How did you hear about RP down in Chile? I did some sign waiving at the american embassy and airport and gave out fliers at Isla Negra.
Just reminded me of that
Just reminded me of that group of girls that voted for Ventura in '98 after they got wasted the night before! No, don't worry, no duopoly here. Either we take the chance to fight the system now or never. So, are you still living in Chile? If so, where? I'm living in Lo Barnechea in Santiago.
