Pat Robertson to endorse Rudy Giuliani - MSNBC

I will be writing a letter to David Brody at CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) about Mr. Robertsons endorsement of Rudy and will post it here later on.
I would like others to do the same thing. Please keep the dialog civil, and to the point.
His email address is thebrodyfile@gmail.com
As a Christian, I find Mr. Robertsons endorsement of Rudy Giuliani abhorant. Mind you, I find Mr. Giuliani abhortant, but that is for another rant.
Here is a the text from MSNBC
WASHINGTON - Pat Robertson, a prominent Christian leader and social conservative, endorsed Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, at a news conference this morning in Washington, D.C.
The former New York mayor backs abortion rights and gay rights, positions that put him in conflict with GOP orthodoxy, and has been trying to convince cultural conservatives to overlook their differences with him on those issues. That makes the support of a high-profile religious conservative like Robertson a particular boon.
Giuliani, the front-runner in national popularity polls, and Robertson will make the endorsement official later Wednesday at a news conference in Washington. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to avoid publicly pre-empting the announcement.
The endorsement is a blow to rival Mitt Romney, who has been making inroads with the powerful network of social conservative leaders. Romney recently announced that Paul Weyrich and Bob Jones III were on board with his candidacy, and he had been seeking Robertson's support.
Robertson, who unsuccessfully ran for president in 1988, founded the Christian Broadcasting Network, the Christian Coalition and Regent University in Virginia Beach.
In addition to the Robertson-Giuliani endorsement, former presidential candidate Sam Brownback, R-Kan., is expected to throw his support behind the presidential campaign of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., at an Iowa campaign event later today.

Here was my email and reply from Mr. Brody
Mr. David Brody,
Here is my open letter to Pat Roberson currently being circulated on every blog and forum community. Thank you for your time.

Mr. Pat Robertson,
I was an avid participator in your show and programs for a number of years. Today, it has be brought to my attention that you will be endorsing Rudy Giuliani for president. I would like you to know that I will be canceling your subscription and no longer partaking of any of your affiliate programs. I think that you have picked the worse candidate in the field to represent the values of common decency and those of Christ. I am extremely disappointed in this poor decision.

His Reply:
Josh,
I realize you may have a lot of questions about today.. first, here is the CBN statement regarding today's development that is up on CBNNews.com and The Brody File
“Pat Robertson as a private citizen has recently endorsed a candidate for public office. As a private citizen he has the right to participate in the political process, and is entitled to express his personal views. CBN, as a public charity, does not support or oppose any candidate for public office, and as a result will not address or comment further on this matter.”
Please pay particular attention to that last sentence and its implication regarding non-profits, their tax exempt status and the IRS.
It’s been a long day. I’ve been in the road in Iowa where I got a sit down one on one interview with Barack Obama Wednesday, the same day this happened. I’m now back in DC traveling all day.
I hope you keep reading

I got the same reply....LOL

When I read this I was sick
to think of the craven manipulation afoot. But I feel fine now, with the realization that such blatant god awful hypocrisy will only serve to destroy the illusions of many good people...who will be open to a little Ron Paul reality. Pat's extremity is Ron's opportunity.
My e-mail to Mr Robertson
Dear Mr Robertson,
I feel you have made a terrible error in judgement by endorsing Rudy Giuliani. I truly believe you have been misled to think Rudy is a person to represent Christians. Divorces and pro-abortion aside, he doesn't reflect any biblical views whatsoever. I urge you to reconsider on behalf of the decreasing followers of our religion. We all make mistakes and we certainly have the option with humility, to further investigate the situation and re-evaluate this importnt decision. I'm sure you have your reasons for your actions, but I'm convinced that there are other candidates that are more qualified to represent your base voters, specifically Dr Ron Paul.
Please look into this situation and then think and pray on this matter, and I'm sure you will realize that an error in judgement has been made and you will feel obligated to correct this situation.
Thanks for listening.
Numbers
I just wanted you to know that the number of followers of your religion (Evangelical Christianity) has been the largest growing religion in the US for over 10 years and shows no signs of stopping. It is not decreasing at all with a new megachurch build every week in the US. This is important in the aspect that even if Robertson loses those of you patriots with brains and morals, he is still going to have thralls of people voting for whomever he picks with the percentage increasing every month. This has been the plan all along by the neocon fringe. I appreciate your efforts, but perhaps the energy needs to be directed at making his followers you may know into "former followers". If Robertson does pray when not on television (which I highly doubt), he is going to pray for success with their campaign, not for the Constitution.

So much for Pat Robertson
So much for Pat Robertson's bid to lead evangelical America.
"Government is not reason, it is not eloquence; it is force. Like fire it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."
This hurts Pat more than it helps Rudolph.
If the evangelicals won't back Rudy then why would Pat?
Support for Isreal maybe?

Proof that Pat Robertson is not a Christian
Pat Robertson has shown us that he is a member of the Church of Satan.

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐
Shame....
How long does it take to taint your entire career and give up any credibility you had left? Let's see...How long was that press conference? Amazes me to no end...not that he had didn't many faults, but mainly that a man who has consistantly advocated Pro Life philosophies dump them in fear of Hillary and the idea that you or I face a real grave danger from Islamofascists. This will most likely start many Christians (even the millions who thought he was theologically off the mark like myself) scrambling for truth. I promise you this will rock the waters and our man, Ron Paul, will benefit from this. God Bless Ron Paul and God Bless this Nation.
Thank Goodness!
It will be a lot easier to get his "former followers" now. Now that they realize even Pat Robertson never believed what he was preaching (and making tens of millions as a perk) Now is the time - any relative or friend that had been boondoggled by this guy, just as when his cohort and business model Jim Baker went down, is ripe to hear truth, liberty, justice!

Letter I wrote to Pat Robertson
Dear Pastor Robertson,
I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn of your endorsement of Rudy Giuliani for President. Mr. Giulliani is NOT a Christian Conservative. The following scripture comes to mind: Acts 20:28-30 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
Surely there will come a PRO LIFE ,CONSERVATIVE, CHRISTIAN CANDIDATE, emerging soon from the lower tier of candidates with a message and a platform we can support.
We must remain patient. In only a few short weeks that leader will appear and it will not be Giulliani, Romney or McCain.
Sincerely,
Steven Orrange

Dear Pat
Dear Pat,
He is an excerpt of a conversation you had with Jerry Falwell discussing why 9/11 happened:
Falwell said, "The ACLU has got to take a lot of blame for this. And I know I'll hear from them for this, but throwing God...successfully with the help of the federal court system...throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools, the abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked and when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad...I really believe that the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who try to secularize America...I point the thing in their face and say you helped this happen."
Robertson - "I totally concur, and the problem is we've adopted that agenda at the highest levels of our government, and so we're responsible as a free society for what the top people do, and the top people, of course, is the court system."
Just how angry will God become if America elects as its president a man who:
1) supports abortion under all circumstances;
2) supports homosexual marriage, cross dresses, and marches in gay parades; and
3) openly commits adultery and lets his mistress cohabit with him in the mayoral mansion of NYC?
More to the point, Pat, don't you think endorsing a man like Rudolph Guiliani for president will make God angry at you? Of all people, you should know better.
Letter to Pat Robertson
Dear Pat Roberson,
How could you OPENLY betray the true meaning of Christianity, by endorsing Rudy Giuliani, a man who’s not even been loyal to his own family, a man who is on his third wife, and who is openly pro abortion?
How could you support a man who is directly responsible for the deaths of countless firefighters regarding the 9/11 twin tower collapses, due to his own form of corruption as mayor of New York City?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaCYEEO-58I
How could your support a man who knowingly and opening lied before the congressional hearings about why those fire fighters did not get out before those buildings collapsed? A man who lied to congress, by saying they chose to be patriots and fight on, instead of getting out. A man who absolutely knew the real reason they did not get out was because their radios would not function in high-rise conditions. A fact he fully was aware of since 1992, which ultimately led to their deaths. I suggest you CHECK OUT THE FACTS.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaCYEEO-58I
Giuliani, has since fought very hard to keep this information suppressed from ever seeing the light of day, but it is just now getting the attention it needs.
In conclusion, I supported you personally when you ran for president yourself in the 80's. I became a delegate back then to help you get the chance at becoming the Republican Nomination for the general election, because I believed in you back then. I CONTINUED to endorsed you even after your most ‘embarrassing comments’ during your election campaign, where you stated you had confidential sources, ‘confirmed proof’, that there were nuclear weapons in Cuba and the Government wasn't doing anything about it. The President back then was Ronald Reagan, and he challenged you to bring forth your proof, which you could not do. He called your bluff, forcing you to completely recant your story as being unfounded (most people considered you a liar back then). The press had a field day with you on that one, DOES THAT BRING BACK ANY MEMORIES for you.
I will never support you, or your religiously hypocritical organization again, as long as I live. I will be publishing this email as far and wide as possible... YOU MAKE ME SICK!
May God continue to bless Ron Paul, a true Christian, a man without ungodly ambition.

The Winds of Change!
The Spirit of AntiChrist
It's interesting the spin that some of these so-called Christians have on the events before Jesus returns. They don't seem to study the Bible much but more rely on their own ideas and what suits their selfishness. We are not supposed to be thirsting after war and bloodshed and supporting liars, we are supposed to be making disciples of all men (teaching people about Jesus) and Peter says in 1 Peter 4:7-9
"But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "Love will cover a multitude of sins." Be hospitable to one another without grumbling."
Somehow we keep missing the message of the sermon on the mount and insincere people calling themselves Christians but are really the Antichrist (acting in place of Christ and against Christ's principles) seem to be getting the most publicity.
Ron Paul is the real deal and God knows it. We know it, too. So set us follow Peter's instructions and pray for him and love one another, be hospitable and stop grumbling. ;0)

Well written.
As a lapsed Catholic (I now attend a non-denominational southern church) I can attest to the difference in attitudes between Catholics and Evangelicals. Indeed, the mindset of many Evangelicals is "the end is near, now come get some." I cannot begin to fathom this rationale in contrast to Christ's message.
This is simply just sad, better to try and recruit Catholics

I Disagree
Pat Robertson is not the "end all" for Evangelicals. He is a self-proclaimed leader. He is out of touch with growing movements within the community.
I don't think discriminating against a large and influential base of potential supporters is the best idea.
I don't get it. "FLASH: Pat
I don't get it.
"FLASH: Pat Robertson To Endorse Giuliani... "
Gets the front top page on drudgereport and our history making 4.2Mil haul got the bottom of the page yesterday.
They must be under order to keep Dr. Paul's profiling low, but not completely off, that is the only that makes sense.
Now Obama is front page and
Now Obama is front page and center. His plane landed at the wrong airport.
Ohh and not to mention and
Ohh and not to mention and Hillary is front center with big a big picture of her and bill.
Christian Leader Endorses Ron Paul
Does anyone know any other Christian leaders who endorse Ron Paul?
Perhaps efforts in letter writing could be used to re-inforce their support and leadership and influence.
Here's one that I know of named Chuck Baldwin:
http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2007/cbarchive_20071106.html
Just like the Iranian President believes
...that by inciting a world conflict that the savior will come about, I feel this is the same attitude many Christians have toward global conflict. It's like they want a scenario where the sh*t can hit the fan, so long as they are not personally inconvenienced, so that their savior can also return. It's the epitome of selfishness. For generations people have wanted the return of their Messiah in their own lifetimes, which is why peace really doesn't suit the agenda.
And we've already been conditioned to believe that the only "peace" that will come, will be a false peace by an "Antichrist". So the conditions to have peace overthrown is already in place.
It's almost a self fulfilling prophecy, and years upon years upon years of this bloodshed and nothing happens. No one rides out of the sky to put an end to anything.
And here we have a true champion of peace, a literal, physical person you can see, who's led an exemplary life, who's made it his life's work to promote liberty for all, and he gets shafted for a pie in the sky.
I mean seriously. I don't have a problem with faith based propositions but there has to be a sense of reality when you look at whats going on in the world. People need to look to themselves before they look upward to the sky. People need to collectively be the change that they want to see in the world, and Ron Paul is the catalyst to making that happen, along with the many others who are also working toward these goals.
...But then you have people like Pat Robertson who need death and destruction, who need force and fraud, who need coercion to bring about change. That is not freedom.
My question is: Why is the return of a Messiah exclusive to only world calamity? Why can't we maintain a peaceful world to wait for this return?
I emailed Brody
"Dear Mr. Brody:
I find Pat Robertson’s endorsement of Rudy Giuliani very offensive. The Value Voters gave Mr. Giuliani less than 2% of their vote. Mr. Giuliani does not represent what I feel are Christian and family values. "
Actually I find Pat Robertson and Rudy Giuliani both extremely offensive, but Robertson puts himself up as a Christian. How can a Christian endorse Giuliani? Robertson is obviously more of a Neocon than a Christian.
Write your local Christian leaders instead
Pat Robertson is the Al Sharpton of the Christian Right. Don't waste your time with him.
There is a progressive movement within the Evangelical community and the Christian community as a whole towards real Christian values like peace and respect for the environment.
Write your local Christian leaders instead. 10,000 endorsements from local priests and ministers is worth 10,000 times more than arguing with a brick wall.
Why I didn't suggest contacting Mr. Robertson
The reason I recommended that people contact David Brody instead of Pat Robertson is that people don't like to self analyze their problems but if you have someone else that works with you telling you there appears to be a problem, most people are more receptive.
Mr. Brody might be able to talk to Pat Robertson and make him realize that he is not only hurting himself but CBN and the 700 Club with this asinine move of his part.
Just my two cents
christians need to bombard the idiot Robertson
Man oh man, what a historic day for "my-head-is-deep-in-my-ass christianity". As an orthodox, bible believing Christian, I always knew Robertson was a bit braindead, but I didn't think he would ever actually climb in bed with pure evil. Christians need to bombard him with email letting him know that he didn't gain any votes for Rudy the cross dressing abortionist dictator, but he simply lost the support of any true Christian out there. It's now clear that Christianity as practiced by Pat Robertson simply means as many bombs dropping as possible on as many other countries as possible. He needs to know what a perversion of the Holy Gospel this is, and that he can repent now, or have all eternity to think about it in hell with Rudy. Man, it would almost be worth going to hell just to see to look on Pat Robertson's face when he gets there.
