I've never been more disgusted in my life.....You had a chance to make an impact on the election and the GOP and you threw it away for conspiracy theories and nonsense like dissipating our vote among 4 candidates(if not more)....the Liberty Movement was NOT about one man!...It was about an idea!....The best person who had the most support and name recognition to carry that movement on in this Presidential election was Bob Barr...When the LP is "fixed" it will go back to being a debating society with little or no impact on the political issues facing this country...and it's members can hold it's meetings in a telephone booth...IDIOTS!

And not worry about what others are doing. Did he support our guy? No. Could he have emerged as a leader from that press conference? Probably.
Would he have had a much better chance by not alienating Ron Paul supporters? Yes. Would he still be a neo-con shill? Definitely.

Barr may be easier to stomach than some of the others, but what does it mean?
He won't get in the debates, i'm certain of it. He won't get any time. At best, any vote outside of McCain or Obama is a protest vote and will be viewed as such.
Barr may be good, but he isn't what drew me to this movement. Ron Paul has been right since his first step into politics. He was right economically to oppose the financial system, he was right about overstepping the constitution. He was right about foreign policy, and we'd be a better nation if more people thought as he did in the 1970's.
I care about who out leader will be for the first time...I truly have a man who I believe is what we need in a president. It may not be a bit of difference in the CNN reported vote count, but I will have done what's right for once.
I'll be damned if i'm called a moron jeopardizing the efforts we've made by voting my conscience for once. I'll know in my heart that I voted for the right man for the job.

If Ron Paul would have won, he would have probably staffed his entire cabinet with LP people. I have a long memory. NO single third party candidate can win... period. The point is to get people from all walks of life to vote for someone other than a major party's candidate. If everyone not voting for one of the major party candidates voted for Barr he still wouldn't win. If Dr. Paul endorsed Barr or Baldwin, Obama wins. If he endorsed Nader or McKinney, McCain wins. What he did was the only way to not help either major candidate win... that simple. It may also help the people realize that they don't have to pick one of the major candidates, even if they don't like either of them... the lesser of two evils garbage.
Ron Paul did the right thing... the thing that actually benefits the people... as always.

voters arent different colored Skittles that you can group together and drop in a cup marked "Skittles" and be done with it. A third party will not win this time- even if all voters DID vote on the same guy. The same protest point will be made by having Nader and or Baldwin in the debates and a number of votes counted for any of the 3rd party candidates. Simple truth is that some people want to vote their CONSCIENCE- which made barr a really tough sell. Im sorry for your loss though- for whatever reason barr really made you excited by being behind him- maybe you can put that energy behind Baldwin or Nader or the 3rd party candidate of your choice.
