Can I have $300,000 Bailout???????????

0 votes

I own a business, and employ 13 people which equals 13 families.....our sales are down, and we are at the point where we have to possibly let people go because of how the economy is going. I have been in business for 22 years, and have never witnessed anything like this.

So, the US taxpayer has spent approximately $500,000,000,000 to bail out these financial firms and probably more.....right?

Well, $300,000 would secure our company indefinitely..This would not only give us buying power, but a buffer that would make our company so strong, it would be incredible.....

I ask this question.......

Why do I have to toil every hour of every day to make sales, and worry every hour after paying millions of dollars in taxes over the past 22 years to survive??

Our company is on the brink of destruction......and yet we are small.....why can't we be bailed out?

This entire system is so screwed........

It makes me sick......

Why can't I be bailed out? $300,000 is peanuts compared to what is being thrown at these worthless companies........and I WILL PAY IT BACK WITH INTEREST........

These other companies won't....

What a world we live in...

NOTE:I will not let anybody go if I can do it.....we are having employee meetings every week...and we are struggling....but we are doing it.........just saying......HELP ME!!!

someone on anderson cooper last night

(or some other news show) sent a letter asking for a bailout on his student loans -- saying 'it's too much of my salary to pay it off & i really want to pay for other stuff, so can i have a bailout, too?'

& if anyone still has the fundraising letter from john mccain (sent b/4 the conventions), now's a good time to use the postage-paid envelopes & stuff them w/monopoly money & a note to mccain letting him know that's the only currency he's qualified to handle.

Great point. Is it possible

Great point. Is it possible for small business owners to band together and then make a class action claim for bailouts? Perhaps this could be a good publicity stunt to raise awareness of how hurtful the corporate bailouts are to main street and the middle class.

That's a very interesting

That's a very interesting idea. Imagine tens or hundreds of thousands of small businesses banding together then petitioning the federal government for a bail out similar to the businesses on wall street.

...

Sell some really big bonds. I mean HUGE bonds.

Nickel and dime bankruptcies are not bail-out-worthy.

When the creditors coming knocking on your door and you can't pay out, the fed will buy some new bonds from you so that you can pay off your existing creditors.

When it gets to the point where you can no longer pay back the fed, your company will become part of the state.

Did I miss anything?

I own my own business as well

Yesterday, I wrote a letter to my senator, which I put a link to on here, in the post script I wrote that I could be bailed out for around $250,000.
That was meant to be a sarcastic point. http://www.dailypaul.com/node/62839

The main point of my letter was to have him introduce a bill to make all current and future laws cite and prove their constitutionality prior to being voted on. Also I demanded that the Congress do their job, and get rid of the FED, this is the real "bail out" that would help us all. Real money, and a government that only does what it supposed to do.

I think that with the current mess we are in that with enough publicity prior to introduction, that this bill might actually see a vote, instead of being buried like the prior ones.

As slow as it is I have started letting my machines go out on rent to folks that I wouldn't have let have them in the past, (due to ineptness or bad credit), but now any revenue I can get in is justified by the increased risk of damage the machines may get.

Thank you Dr. Paul for making my act on what I already knew was right.

What a great idea. I have a couple of businesses for which

I could use a bailout as well. However, I'm thinking about something in the 7 or 8-figure range. This morning there was a story about Bush asking Congress to further bankrupt the U.S. by another $700 Billion (just the 1st downpayment I'm sure) in order to buy various toxic waste securities from different troubled institutions. Since payback (if there ever is any) is bound to be made in inflated/cheaper dollars, then I think I should issue some essentially worthless corporate bonds of my own and sell them to the government (taxpayers) at 100% face value. A few well-placed company bonuses, a little bit of time and bingo......bankruptcy. Oh well, guess I'll take my money and start another business. Who said you couldn't profit in a downturn?

We just need a new mindset about this: Taxpayer funded bailouts - Our Friend.

Our Society is Backwards

Imagine if they announced a 500 billion bailout to hurting small businesses. Instead about 25 of the biggest who made the most idiotic risky decisions get our money. The rise of power to the Federal govt also gives the rise of power to the large corps.

As a small business owner I

As a small business owner I feel your pain. We work so hard for so little. The stress of constantly treading water is starting to cause me physical problems, which will eventually lead to more expense I just can't cover.

Some days I feel like the merchant class is being phased out in favor of the corporate class.

I was so stressed

I thought I was goingto losemy mind last year when people started cancelling contracts by the dozens and I had tostart letting people go.

If it wasn't for cross border business I would be broke already. Detroit is completely dead.

Because the big fish eats

Because the big fish eats the little fish, and the one who strikes hardest and fastest survives?

Lets contact our congresspersons and senator

let them know we all want a "bail out" too.

I also have a business

I had to let go of three crews last year and move everything across the border. Now I have just 2 crews working only in Canada. in the last year we have only had 5 jobs in michigan. There is just no one building anything. Maybe I'll just focus on demolition.

Now that the government owns most of the U.S. mortgages I wouldn't be surprized if your new crooked landlord start evicting people by the millions.

the top brass in the company was going to split 200 million of the tax payers between them.. WTFIT! (what the FK is that) this stuff makes me sick.. while you and I go without and just pay taxes!

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐

I have read your posts.in the past...and you are a true

Ron Paul supporter....and I know of a way that you may be able to save them ... their jobs that is... it will take a few minor changes..but if they cooperate they should be ok... email me at contact and I will send you the info...

(and no its not the 300,000 you need , but perhaps it will help alleviate the need to ax some of their jobs...)

Done

I have seen you and Siehbert (SP) battling it out...and I love it. I read all of your posts......

got your email...

give me a few days to give you a reply...

PLEASE be smart!

PLEASE be smart! If you're business is about to go down, don't try to be overly social, but FIRE your staff! Otherwise you could end up in very SERIOUS debt! If you're not in debt, you can always take a time out, and start thinking for something new to start, or take it easy and go on the payroll yourself. BUT DON'T KEEP YOUR STAFF WHEN YOU CANNOT AFFORD IT ANYMORE.

Good luck!

I understand

My staff is paid on 100% commission....

The problem is.......in the old days it was just my partner and myself.......now with 13 employees selling and slower "Foot Traffic" we can not support them all. We are doing the best we can......

We have NO debt..........and are you ready for this......

We sell electronics.........and we sell $ millions of dollars in electronics...

We are $120,000 down from last year with Kenwood (19% down in sales)....so Kenwood today offered us 90 day terms with 6% discount on an order of $80,000.

HHAHAAHAHH I laughed....

I placed a $10,000 order (no 6% discount) on what we needed.....and they were upset.

I will not put my head in a noose and over commit.......

This is insane...

I'm with you...

I was a fall-out of the mortgage industry. I went from making a nice income of $50,000/year to making a great income of over $100,000/year...

but now I make $30,000/year in a different industry because they screwed the mortgage industry to hell and back.

I HAD about $120,000 in equity in my home til the housing bubble burst. Now I owe more than it's worth.

I HAD $200,000 in cash. Now I have nothing.

$300,000 would only just replace what I had.

Do you

see my point???

WE>>>>>>>you and me
are bailing out companies(AIG) for $85,000,000,000 ($85 BILLION)

Why not bail out me for $300,000 to save 13 families?

because you're not part

of the club.
