Why doesn't Ron Paul try to do anything about the economy?

He gives great speeches, but I see no action. I would like to see him do 3 things:
I'd like him to file a bill to break up the ratings agency oligopoly.
I'd like him to petition the SEC to force all credit default swaps onto an open exchange, to eliminate off-balance-sheet anything, and to force mark-to-market on all financial assets, every day. If there's no bid, the price is zero.
I'd like him to get the banking committee to launch an investigation into the failure of the SEC, Federal Reserve, FDIC, and others to enforce the law.
3 simple things. That would be a start. Any reason why he doesn't?

He has sponsored literally dozens of bills that would have prevented this disaster, none of which gets passed. One man alone can't win this fight but none has done better or tried harder than Ron Paul. What have you done to solve this problem?

He is only one person in congress
out of over 200. Thats why we need to elect more like minded people to congress. He did mention some congressmen/women are coming to him now...except for the leaders.

do you people need it in black and white? our government has been infiltrated and taken over. our government is NOT our government. nothing will be done for the people. the way for this to end will be when enough people get angry enough to stand with fellow patriots. i see this as a real opportunity to FINALLY be done with the illegal monetary mess. in hind sight, whom amongst you can say that you did enough? i know for certain that Dr. Paul has and is doing everything he feels he can. Thank you Dr. Paul, for having the balls to stand up to the criminals- something noone else seems to be doing. Maybe I am wrong, and behind the scenes there IS something going on that we know not. This is my hope and intention.

Ron Paul knows the root cause of the problem is the Federal Reserve. Anything else is just attempting to stop the bleeding.. Come on folks don't forget he's a doctor, his job is to save the patient by getting to the root cause.
EVERYONE here needs to
contact their Congressmen and ask them to PLEASE speak with Rep. Ron Paul, TX....so that he can enlighten them. Ask them ALL to do something! Otherwise, it's our Lone Wolf crying in the nite again. (I wrote Congressman Charlie Dent, 15-PA yesterday...no response on this idea yet...not even a canned one!)

He walked up to Dr. Paul and asked for a book, then called us all back home and told us he had been "working with Dr. Paul." There is no hope for our representatives, but give it the old college try on yours.

for what? Because he dares to suggest that Ron Paul needs to take action?
We all know what a great man Ron Paul is, but he is a man, not God.
The "Ron Paul-can-do-know-wrong" crowd had better wake up to the fact that it doesn't really matter what Ron Paul has done in the past 20 years to try to prevent the financial crises we are now in, because PEOPLE WEREN'T LISTENING.
But they are listening NOW, and NOW is when he could effect the kind of change that is needed.

to Paul's recent interview with Rockwell, he explains that he is going to re-introduce his legislation to audit the FED. Ultimately, while this is an opportunity, the legislature will cave into the Fed like they always do unless there is a huge push of outrage. So Paul can go on all the media programs, put out his legislation, but we need to talk to people, educate, and explain what causes the problem.

bear in mind, it is TOO LATE to avoid any economic pain. But we have to stop them from making it worse. The debt has to be liquidated, and we should push for a return to a system that doesn't create the bubbles and the empire.

It's all on his website.
The man authored an act to abolish the 16th amendment, for pity's sake. Among other things...I don't think the problem is a lack of courage or the will to take action. Hardly!
The problem is none of the losers in Congress co-sponsor his legislation. When he submits it, it routinely gets referred to subcommittees, where it dies a slow, but quiet death by means of being ignored forevermore.

He CONSTANTLY has written bills to fix the economy. NO ONE HAS LISTENED. Why don't you read some of his economic policies and congressional bills, and votes, before you speak so rashly..

Ron Paul has a tendency to underestimate people.
First, he underestimated the overwhelming response he would get from the American people when he entered the race for the White House.
Now, he is underestimating America's willingness for substantial change to occur in our current financial system. Yesterday on Fox News, he said change will not occur until the dollar loses its worth.
Ron Paul needs to call another news conference, only this time it should be about the financial crisis in this country. He should lay out for the American people, for Congress, and anyone else who will listen just what exactly has been done wrong, and what needs to be done now.
People are listening and looking for answers. Even Harry Reid admitted that Congress doesn't know what to do. Of course, it goes without saying that Obama and McCain don't know what to do.
Just because Greenspan and his corrupt ilk don't want to dismantle the Federal Reserve does NOT mean that the average Joe wouldn't be open to the idea- but Americans need to be educated!
And who better to do that than Ron Paul?
