Original story: "U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is talking about a Resolution Trust Corp-type solution to the financial crisis, CNBC reported, citing Wall Street sources."

Current story: "U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson has been shopping around a proposal to congressional lawmakers that would create an entity to deal with the bad debt, similar to what was done in the savings and loan crisis, a congressional aide said."

Translation: The government is going to create a bureaucracy that absorbs all of Wall Street's bad debts and shady investments, leaving the large banks with nothing but the creme. That means we will be soon inheriting trillions in debts from corporate America (at a near-nothing cost to the banks), and will be paying the bill for generations to come.

Ugh

Morally Reprehensible Comes To Mind

Wouldn't it be nice...

...if middle class Americans had a suppository to put the debt they don't want?
