Spoke With Bob Barr today
Bob Barr was in Austin today filing a lawsuit to prevent McCain and Obama from being on the Texas ballot since they both missed the legal deadline. (Barr did not miss the deadline.)
After his press conference, I asked him about snub-gate. He re-iterated his position that it made no sense for the Libertarian Party to be endorsing voting for other parties (paraphrasing). I stated that I understood his position, (I think Barr should have participated, but I didn't go into that), but that I would like to see a statement on his website clarifying support for the 4 principles that came out of the 3rd party press conference. Could he at least do that? (Foreign policy, debt, etc). He seemed to like the idea and suggested he would. It wasn't definitive, but he did express support for the positions. We will see.

The press conference was generally anti-Republicrats / anti-2-party-system as well as unity in regards to the 4 points "despite their differences" as Ron Paul said during the conference.
The worst part of all of this is that Barr stood to gain more than any other candidate out of this press conference. He would have walked away with a clear gain in support. He threw that opportunity away and he still succeeds at making snub-gate worse.
How hard would it be for him to say something like "You know, I should have attended that press conference. Even though I didn't feel it was in my best interest, many of my supporters clearly felt that it was."

Texas couldtake away the possibility of any candidate having a clear majority of electoral votes to outright declare the presidentcy.
Once again it may be a minor point but another sign of the illegitimacy of the next President. The less they are able to do the better!

I agree- we should support anyone who would endeavor
to further the cause- be it through legislation, throwing stumbling blocks toward the 2 party system- whatever. Regardless if its Bob Barr, The Grannies, SGP whoever. Im not going to attempt to circumvent ANYthing that is being done for the good of the cause simply because I cant stand the constant harrassment from the Barr trolls. Let Barr work on side projects- Ill support them- just not him as POTUS.

he really could have handled this whole situation better.
If he had just attended the press conference he'd have saved himself a lot of trouble. All attending the press conference would have done was shown that he supported the agreement on the 4 issues.
He could have taken the opportunity with the media coverage to stump and get the most votes possible for himself if that's what this is all about.

Except the part where you suggest they aren't telling the whole truth. Ron Paul and his staff have proven to have impeccable integrity, and the way they handled this was no exception. I'm sure you probably agree.

Supporting Bob Barr in a state where Baldwin is not on the ballot (Texas) doesn't make someone a mole.
I was disappointed with Barr's action at the conference, which is why I took the opportunity to focus on it.
Because of the 4 principles, I think anyone voting 3rd party is a friend and anyone voting for McCain or Obama is an enemy.
