Campaign for Liberty counter now stands at around 106.000 members
Submitted by truud2 on Sat, 09/20/2008 - 15:11
To what extent are these 106.000 members supporting the 3rd. party initiative?
106.000 supporters/voters can make a difference to Chuck Baldwin's campaign, I guess. Provided they're actually committed to vote for him.
Are they?
The actual role of the Campaign for Liberty as far as the election is concerned has become unclear to me, after Ron Paul quit his campaign.
What are its primary objectives now?
(I haven't joined, since I'm not a US citizen, and so have assumed I am not interesting as a member.)
I failed to find the counter on the C4L home page, but have embedded a working copy on the front page of our Norwegian FreeForum Discussion site, in case anyone want to check out the counter.

The Campaign For Liberty's Mission is:
That came from http://www.campaignforliberty.com/mission/ and on that page is also a Statement of Principles, which is a bit too long to post here.
In addition, a bit more than a week ago Ron Paul held a unity press conference that included Chuck Baldwin, Cynthia McKinney & Ralph Nader. Bob Barr committed to attend as well, but he backed out at the last minute.
In any case, the press conference was happened in order to report that despite their differences the third party candidates were coming together in unity behind a set of principles. Those principles are in regards to: Foreign Policy, Privacy, The National Debt and The Federal Reserve. You can read the entire text of the principles they agreed to at http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog/?p=484 and you can watch videos of the press conference at http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog/?p=500
Even though you aren't a US citizen, you should still join if the website lets you. Why not? Liberty doesn't end at our borders.

Thank you
I appreciate your posting this because in reading it, I can see why we are going nowhere. C4L isn't set up to unite the third parties.
It's time to regroup or be regrouped. When I joined the rEVOLution I noted that Ron Paul kept saying, "Thank you for inviting me to YOUR rEVOLution". His final words to C4L was, "Vote for anyone but a Republican or a Democrat". In some ways, that has divided us..(as if we were ever really united..we are but we are not).
Ron Paul supporters are now going to other candidates, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin getting the majority and so they are comfortable and why do anything more? Money bombs, arguing on DP with DP supporters...that is not the case for those of us who went to Nader or the Greens. I don't know how many people went tot he Greens, but I know allot of Greens walked away from Cynthia McKinney because she made an agreement with Ron Paul. This is also trus, or maybe I should say more true for Nader because Nader went from a 6% to 1%.
Nader adn McKinney took a very hard blow, and the C4L could give a crap because "they're scoialists" and we get into the same duopoly game as the major parties.
I would like to see a campaign where Ron Paul Patriots EDUCATE the supporters of Nader and McKinney. We don't need to get into their collectivists BS arguments (as we do here).. but we need to HONOR the principle Ron Paul set us forth with.
Ron Paul said we are up against a duopoly, and the only way to fight that duopoly is forming one of our own..and that means we need to reform employing the tools we learned to use in the rEVOLution...while we can.
Those are some of my thoughts...

he said vote for anyone but a republican or democrat in the presidential election.
frankly, this presidential election doesn't matter.
We are not going to win it.
The CFL is about long term, infiltrating the positions of power from the ground up. The leninist strategy, but without the violence.

This is why I support Nader
Nader's books, "Crashing the Party" is what Ron Paul did. What Nader said was going on...Ron Paul PROOVED. How many Ron Paul patriots read Nader's book? Or did they read his book, "The Good Fight?" These are two good books for those who want to continue the rEVOLution.
The only party I ever belonged was Libertarian. In 1992 I worked as a precinct officer and to make a long story short..1992 was rigged. So where do you go? Libertarin Party was on the rocks. I happened upon the opportunity to ask Nader.
"Atlas Shrugged" I read when I was 17, and my favorite book is Letters of Ayn Rand. Have you read that? I am an objectivist..anyways..I had an attitude about Nader, but he was saying something I had just witnessed, "The elections are rigged". He was the only one saying this..so I asked him his stand on industrial hemp. He admitted he knew nothing about it and to be educated. Two weeks later it was on his ballot. No one has sued the feds more than Nader.
WE KNEW what was going to happen to the Ron Paul rEVOLution, and let me tell you, I supported it with ALL MY HEART. Look how long I've been a memeber..but telling people... the truth..among all the truthers and my gawd everyone here has what someone is calling a conspiracy theory sometwhere....what mattered to me was Ron Paul was that candidate I needed, for he PROOVED Nader was correct. Last election Nader had 22 law suits in 17 states. He was only on 37 ballots. He still took more votes than Cobb, Petrouska, Badnarik and Peltier combined. Now he is on 45 states.
This rEVOLution, if it should continue, should read Ralph Nader's 'Crashing the Party" and "The GOOD FIGHT".
I should also say, Ralph Nader is a John Galt. Galt had his engine ripped off...as did Nader with his ideas. No one has sued the feds more than Ralph Nader. MSM LIES about Ralph Nader. Google Nader. ONE ARTICLE.
Finally, it was serendipity for me to see Ron Paul and Ralph Nader together. I just wish I was a better organizer, but having been opposed to collectivism my whole life...I haven't any experience.

You should join
I haven't seen anywhere that citizenship is required.
Join not, I say
Take heed of this example and make haste to start in your own country, what has started here.
Re: You should join
The registration procedure kicks me out due to illegal Zip Code, so it's probably ment only for eligible American voters, which makes sense.
What country are you in?
I doubt they even thought about other countries wanting to join. Maybe we should suggest an international C4L
Re: What country are you in?
Hi ubetcha,
I'm in Norway, but having followed Ron Paul's presidential campaign from early on and having much sympathy for his ideas and ideals, I thought it would be interesting to see how it goes with the C4L too. I tried to ask them, if they accepted foreign memberships, but they indicated they were understaffed and overworked, and therefore were unable to answer all the mail, which is understandable. So I don't know if they've thought about foreign members. But with Ron Paul support groups having been established around most of the world, they should perhaps consider if this is an asset that can be used?
I think that ColognePaulist
