Army website: Army, other branches to "patrol homeland" of USA
This sounds an awful lot like Washington is planning to turn America into a larger version of Baghdad. Do we really need armed troops patroling our streets here at home? Setting up road blocks, tasering citizens, and who knows what else?
In case the page becomes unavailable, here are some excerpts from the article at the Army Times:

Brigade homeland tours start Oct. 1
3rd Infantry’s 1st BCT trains for a new dwell-time mission. Helping ‘people at home’ may become a permanent part of the active Army

The 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent 35 of the last 60 months in Iraq patrolling in full battle rattle, helping restore essential services and escorting supply convoys.
It is not the first time an active-duty unit has been tapped to help at home. In August 2005, for example, when Hurricane Katrina unleashed hell in Mississippi and Louisiana, several active-duty units were pulled from various posts and mobilized to those areas.
But this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to NorthCom, a joint command established in 2002 to provide command and control for federal homeland defense efforts and coordinate defense support of civil authorities.
After 1st BCT finishes its dwell-time mission, expectations are that another, as yet unnamed, active-duty brigade will take over and that the mission will be a permanent one.
[snip]
The 1st BCT’s soldiers also will learn how to use “the first ever nonlethal package that the Army has fielded,” 1st BCT commander Col. Roger Cloutier said, referring to crowd and traffic control equipment and nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them.
“It’s a new modular package of nonlethal capabilities that they’re fielding. They’ve been using pieces of it in Iraq, but this is the first time that these modules were consolidated and this package fielded, and because of this mission we’re undertaking we were the first to get it.”
The package includes equipment to stand up a hasty road block; spike strips for slowing, stopping or controlling traffic; shields and batons; and, beanbag bullets.
“I was the first guy in the brigade to get Tasered,” said Cloutier, describing the experience as “your worst muscle cramp ever — times 10 throughout your whole body.
“I’m not a small guy, I weigh 230 pounds ... it put me on my knees in seconds.”
[snip]
Other branches included
The active Army’s new dwell-time mission is part of a NorthCom and DOD response package.
Active-duty soldiers will be part of a force that includes elements from other military branches and dedicated National Guard Weapons of Mass Destruction-Civil Support Teams.

we have worse things coming at us than a revolution or an economic collapse unfortunately. that is what this is about.
if you're so inclined... check out www.ramtha.com
the ram warned the world back in the 1980's. most didn't listen. it didn't have to be this way but here we are... and it ain't pretty.
there are three must have cd's.

Sounds like DOD is prepping for a Revolution
Does the Government know something we don't -- namely the complete collapse of our economy and the USA as we've known it? I've been noticing that Herr Bush has been drawing down troops in Iraq; now look where they're being re-deployed to!
Do not rule out a false-flag nuke attack on US soil just before the election. Bush/Cheney will then be installed as permanent dictators, the Constitution will be relegated to the dustbin of history... and Americans will be PISSED.
This is what's coming folks. Prepare yourselves for a revolution.

I find it helpful to think that each and everyone of the military, police, soldiers who are going to be ordered to do something stay a person, a human being, at last. This is very helpful for me not to get in panic. The policemen are just men.
The Biggest Landord in the World
Brace yourself.
After Congress, this week, rubberstamps the Paulson plan, and Gov't assumes essentially "title" to every single default property as "owner" (by default... no pun intended),
you now have a "landlord" that can ignore basic landlord/tennant "rights" like privacy and "notice".... and enforce "their" rights with their "own" property management company..... THE U.S. ARMY! Banks could never do that..... which is why you have all the "holdover" tennancies in Florida/California.... people remaining on properties that are in "limbo".... that will stop very quickly now.
If there was ever a question as to who's in charge of Washington.... the people or the Corporations.... this Paulson plan tell's it clearly.
People's revolution now--
Governmental transparency, bank & media nationalization, civil disobedience and armed citizenry!

While, I think it's probably useful having army involved in emergency disaster relief, I'm not too keen on the 'crowd control' ie people control aspect.
Thank you for passing this on...I've passed it on to my email list.
Whatever happened
to Posse Comitatus? I know someone else has asked this, But I think it deserves another mention. How can the American people be so complacent and so blind as to look the other way when this, our fundamental right to live our lives is being threatened by our own military. I understand that the DOD has been actively involved in trying to brainwash our servicemen and women with "de-sensitization" techniques, but I only pray it hasn't been successful. I'm sure there are some bad apples in the mix, i.e. those who have taken part in torture, but I hope most of them are still Americans and faithful to the Constitution and the mission of protecting their country.
Oh, they are faithful...
to protecting their COUNTRY. Just like John McCain says... country first. Country is not the same as the people.
I've pretty much ended a life long friendship with someone who since going to the Marines 10 years ago, seems to think that launching an assault on the american public, is protecting the country if he is ordered to do so. If the military is basically taking over, we need to accept it.. we have on right to fire upon military forces if they have turned against the american public basically. If we fire on them, we are then a threat and open game.
Don't for one second take this to think I am saying, or advocating open firing on troops you see walking down your street. The scenerio me and him were talking about is having troops ordered to basically start going door to door, assaulting people, etc. They are told the people are a threat, so they go after them. In that situation, he thinks the american people have absolutely no right to fight back. So he would have no problem going after them with force if needed, if he's ordered to do so.
Same here...
I parted company with a policeman "friend" who just said "awww...too bad (sarcasm), they shouldn't have brought it there in the first place"... when I told him about the Secret Service illegally confiscating things like autographed books and such from the Ron Paul delegates in MN. He has anger management issues and loves playing with guns...perfect for enforcing the NWO.

I did that on Friday when I heard about it. I bought 2,000 rds of 7.62x39 for my AK arsenal. I also bought about $300 worth of food for the long term storage. (I'm up to about 6 months now!)
the prolific use of the word "homeland"
just plain creeps me out.
what happened to CONUS, Stateside, United States?
Heil.
what really gets me
is that when they selected that name, they had to know that its connotations to anyone of mature years were bound to be negative. They had to take a Nazi word and try to buff it off a little? What made that the first word that popped into their heads?
I feel the same way!
Seriously, it makes me feel like I should be giving govt officials and military members a nice hitler salute.
"Consequence Management
"Consequence Management Response Force"
Wow that's pretty catchy! As in, "Hey, what ever happened to Billy?"
"Oh, you didn't hear? Taken away by the Consequence Management Response Force"
OR...
"Knock knock"
"who's there?"
"Consequence Management Response Force"
Get it? hahahahaha
I love it!
I've always wanted the Army to "help" me by coming around with lethal and non lethal weapons. "Hey army guy, my house got destroyed in this disaster, can you come help me search for survivors and help me clean up my mess? Oh, and be sure to bring your weapons... they are definitely going to be needed... I am hungry, I am tired, and I lost everything.... that makes me dangerous and makes me want to try and kill everyone.. so you may just need those weapons to take me out"
Thanks for the help!
God I cannot wait for the day I am stopped ty military personnel on public streets in the USSA! USA! USA! USA! God bless the USA! God Bless Our Troops! We are FREE only because they sign up for the military! The US military IS our freedom. God bless them!
I don't even know why our founding fathers wrote the declaration of independence and the constitution. Had they been thinking right, they would have just quit being opposed to a large standing army, and instead made sure we had 10 soldiers on every street corner in this country. That would have definitely guaranteed our freedom from oppressive government from the very beginning!
Long live the police state!
ok folks put 2 and 2
ok folks put 2 and 2 together! we have just seen the unraveling of the American financial market.. by the 9th of October, we will see this financial hurricane get worse and worse.. these bailouts of over 2 trillion dollars will only delay the inevitable. Remember the secret congressional meeting last spring and word leaked out that the financial system would collapse this fall! with what we have just seen the past 3 weeks think there was any truth to it? I think the Government is expecting rioting etc.. this is why we are seeing headlines like this.. now all we need is a big terrorist incident in this country to blame the collapse of the US economy on. please be very carefull and please prepare!

Can we get this Digg on the
Can we get this Digg on the thread itself? This is worrisome...
Implications and ramificaitions
Some things to think about:
1. Using a regular combat unit for homeland security and disaster work is like using a finely tuned instrument to do the job of a shovel. In other words, don't let anyone sell you the idea that this brigade is going to do a better job than local authorities and Nat'l guard units in assisting in a disaster. Its all about the President, being CIC, having direct control with a military force, and not having to worry about upsetting governors using Nat'l Guard troops. Its the executive's own private army
2. Don' let its small size as a Brigade fool you. The amount of firepower and mobility this unit has is out of proportion to its size. Air, armor, and artillery support give it firepower way beyond the number of troops it has. In the Military, this is known as "Projecting Force" Think of it like our Aircraft Carriers that go around the world. And you can bet that other Brigades will be joining it soon.
3. NorthComm has within its creation the permission for US and Canadian troops to cross each others borders in pursuit of Terrorist. Don't be surprised to see soldiers with Maple Leaf patches on their shoulders in the US someday.
4. Since these are not home grown Nat'l Guard troops, they will be less likely to worry about pushing around citizens that they have no local home ties to. Plus, with all their experience breaking and entering houses and interrogation techniques they honed while stationed in Iraq, they will stop any protest brutally and effectively. I would not be surprised that they will soon treat us fellow citizens as second rate human beings in the same way they view all Iraqi's as "ragheads". And in our failing economy, they will want to keep their paying jobs in the military, because the job market is so bleak. So given a steady paycheck, housing, food, medical, and the power of a gun, these soldiers will fight to protect their jobs so as not to become one of the helpless sheeple. Hence, we will have the a society where you are either the hammer or the nail.

Could there ever be a military 'civil war'?
If, somehow, following civil unrest martial law becomes a reality, with the use of force and FEMA camps (couldn't imagine me writing this even 2 months ago), could there ever be a situation where factions of the armed forces, led by dissenting high officials, unite to form a strong balancing force in support of civil action for liberty? It would look like a military 'civil war', with all the underground forces surfacing, on both sides of the field, revealing more of reality to the sheeple.
Imagine if the forces supporting freedom overwhelm evil and the whole truth surfaces. with charges ensuring?
Some have said that the election could be suspended. But I keep asking, why suspend it when Mc/Obama would do just fine? Moreso when even if Obama could not be fully trusted, McCain can be elected any time.
But could there actually be a schism among the ruling elite? Is this the end of Cheney or are greater accomplishments planned for the stooge by some?
Posse Comitatus
And what of posse comitatus? There's a reason only National Guardsman are able to be used for "civil unrest". Here's some recommended reading on the subject: http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=5115.
This is a dangerous giant step closer to WWII style fascism. I know I personally will not follow such orders and will encourage my Marines to think for themselves as well. As with any other grievance we have with our government, I suggest contacting your congressman and/or senators. If they don't answer with a changed policy, they'll get some serious civil unrest and might even be surprised at just how many servicemembers refuse to follow unlawful orders!
