POLL WORKERS!!

0 votes

If someone has already brought this up, I apologize...but...

WE NEED RON PAUL SUPPORTERS WORKING THE POLLS!!

Its really easy, just go to your courthouse or board of elections and volunteer to be a poll worker. We need people to secure voter integrity. You get paid for it too!

why not vounteer to be a die-bold sabotore

when you go to the polls this year drill screws in the slots , cut the power cords put crazy glue in the voteing machine do anything but vote in these un unConstitutional black box demons.

Well..I'm not a criminal and

Well..I'm not a criminal and dont want to go to jail or pay substantial fines. Thats just me.

I, however, and voting absentee..on paper.

A is for Anarchy nothing personal but

when are we gonna say "Ive had enough of this shit" THE PEOPLE are the only means of prosecution of our Liberties -Thomas Jefferson.

Some people have their

Some people have their panties in a bunch about my intentions here. These are my reasons.

1) Here in Ohio, our Democratic Secretary of State has personally spoken out against the voting machines (for the same reasons we all have) and, at least a year ago, was working to get rid of them. I dont know if we will have paper ballots this year, or maybe next year, but its a step in the right direction.

2) Here in Ohio, in 2004, there were thousands of reports of disenfranchisement. Democrats were turned away in mostly Republican districts, and hundreds of thousands of blacks were turned away. I want to ensure that, at least in my precinct, every voters has a chance to cast their vote.

3) It counts for community service, which I need for school.

Look back to about ten days ago

You might want to take a walk through this thread:

Have YOU signed up to work this November's voting polls?

A lot of good information and ideas shared in that Sept. 11, 2008, thread.

I was a poll inspector (worker) in FL

for the primary election last month. And we had the large paper ballots to count afterwards. What you may want to do if you volunteer for the General Election (Presidential vote), and since you will be part of the paper ballot count at the end of the day, is to make a note of the precinct totals and keep it on file. Then demand a recount afterwards to verify the official numbers compared to your number. If wrong, you can file a grievance with Supervisor of Elections.

good luck, it's a great experience (and yes, a bit boring, but hey...whatever it takes for more transparency in voting, right?

I don't know about

I don't know about elsewhere, but here in Chicago they pay you $10 an hour to do it... but it also requires a 5 hour training on a separate day (but you also get paid for that).

I decided not to do it though because the shift is from 5 am to 7 pm.... and even if you're getting paid $10 an hour, that's a bit of an extreme shift.... plus I have classes/my job, so it's kind of inconvenient... and they usually try to make you commit to future elections....

but if they're using DIEBOLD machines/any machine, it's kind of pointless...

What would the poll workers be watching?

Electronic voting machines leave no paper trail.
Nor do opti-scan machines.

Voter integrity?!! How about Diebold and ES&S integrity?

Instead, you need to get the word out about VOTE COUNT FRAUD and help to abolish all electronic voting machines before the next election rolls around and our votes aren't counted EVER.

poll worker vs. poll watcher

I have been a poll worker/election judge for 20 years. This will be an unprecedented year in elections. I was election judge when Bill Clinton was elected (twice) and George Bush (twice) and it was busy, but this year will be like any we have seen in many years. A poll worker assists voters in voting, sets up the polling place, does all the paper work etc.

But a poll watcher is very different. Anyone can be a poll watcher, but must first fill out the paper work with the elections division of your county. A poll watcher makes sure the poll workers follow to the letter! the rules of the voting rights. The poll watcher makes sure that all registered voters are allowed to vote and all questionable voters are verified to vote, and a lot of other things.

I do recommend that RP supporters begin getting involved by becoming poll workers or poll watchers. Move to the inside of the system in subtle and small ways. This experience could go a long way in your future activity in politics.

I was a Poll Worker

during the Primaries and it was the most boring day of my life!!!

Im 33 and I probably need another 33 years before Ill be ok with doing

that again!!

LOL!!

can't say I blame you!

I signed up to work the polls on election day.

I am a Ron Paul supporter in the Republican party and will be watching the process. Regardless of party affiliation this is important. And for those of you wondering...I will NOT be voting for McCain.

Go Pee Up A Rope You Idiot

we don't have a vote in this country anymore.
Or is your name really Rumpelstiltskin and you just woke up?

The time to deal with this was before the primary's were over and Ron Paul got the royal shafting in his own home state of Texas when he garnered around 70,000 votes for his congressional seat but only a little over 6,000 votes for President on the same ballot. Ummm can you smell the fraud, smells good isn't it?

If that wasn't a missed opportunity I don't know what the hell one is...

Why be so mean just because you disagree?

The original post was a call to positive action, one that compliments Dr. Paul's strategy of working from within the system. That doesn't appeal to everyone, but it's right for others.

It's good that we each have an individual approach even as we all pull together in the directon of liberty. No one of us has a perfect view of the future, so diverse solutions are, among a freedom-loving group, not only natural but healthy.

What will work best is for folks with a strong plan to promote that, get others to join for a combined effort. No way we'll get everyone on the exact same page. But we can be at least civil, and hopefully encourage all positive action.

you wouldn't have opened up your piehole neither.

We had better get on the same page or we are going to all wind up dead before our time.

I'm mean and I'm rude get used to it. I don't suffer fools easily.

If your head is on straight and you are teachable I'm the nicest guy you will ever meet all you have to do is ask and I'll spoon feed you until you can hold the damned spoon yourself.

No, I think your rudeness and meanness

is just bullying and intimidation to avoid dealing rationally with people who have other views. What you don't suffer is anyone who disagrees with you.

No Cigar reedr3v

rationality doesn't fit in when you are dealing with people with synapses that can't send a decent signal. Kinda like..........You!!!

I completely agree that the fix is in, but

you shouldn't be rude to a fellow Paulite. I've known McCain will win since I saw it on the Onion : )

The Guy Is A Butthead Plain And Simple...

and I will respond to asininity however I please and from his prior post's (and yes I've bumped heads with Blackheart before). People that come on this site and make fools of themselves by not putting in the time to know what is FACT and what is not shouldn't even open up their pieholes. I've put the time in here and decades before that. They should study keep their mouths shut, listen, ask question have genuine discourse before directing people to
"become pollworkers" which is claptrap and moot at this point in the game.

Cameron would garner much more respect from me if he would do something like selling 12 oz ball peen hammers on ebay to destroy these evil Electronic Voting machines on election day which is where we are right now.

And for your information Pearl my original dailypaul user id is #527 and I know the potential this site had because I've been here from almost the beginning.

And yes I emailed Napolitano,We The People, Black Box Voting made phone calls ect giving suggestion and trying to guide the way to another way to save our vote and reinstill the integrity in our system with Paper Ballots Hand Counted At The Precinct. Nobody listened. Hell I even suggested that someone write an emergency bill into Congress since we have concrete proof that at least the last 2 election were fraudulent, I guess it could still be done.

I might be rude but I'm right and thats what counts to me and maybe cameron will think before posting next time.I'll volunteer as a pollworker myself if they reinstate paper ballots and relish staying up all night counting, but to go to try to count something you cannot see (electronic votes) is just plain stupid.

You cant justify your rudeness

No one said anything towards you or about you, I've never talked to you before, I believe.

And you come in here with a stick up your ass. Excuse my language, but fuck off! I have been called negative on here before for disagree with people, but that was in the heat of debate, when this campaign was at its lowest. But you're gonna come in here, out of the blue, and tear me down from trying to make a difference? Please.

Somehow my advocacy of people going out and watching or working the polls is a bad idea, because it isnt as extreme as physically destroying voting machines? Get real, man. Its the system we have right now. If you dont like it (no one does) then go fix it. But dont bitch and moan and act defeated.

Execellent idea. I think the

Execellent idea. I think the local Libertarian Party and other parties on the ballot may send people to the polls to watch.

Here they only hire Dems & Reps
