While the presidential campaigns of John McCain and Barack Obama have stepped gingerly around the financial crisis and the question of government intervention, third party candidates Bob Barr and Ralph Nader have shown no such compunction. Paul shares Barr's and Nader's view that the government's response has been inappropriate......

Why Treat Dr. Paul Like That
You just said Dr. Paul encourages people to vote for a neocon.
When people go around spitting hate about Baldwin, Nader, Barr and McKinney that is a direct insult to Dr. Paul. He basically endorsed all 4.
I have taken his stance in picking the one I will vote for and not bashing people who want to vote for another one.
Bob Barr basically stabbed...
...Ron Paul in the back by not showing up at that press conference a couple of weeks ago.
Barr said he wouldn't appear on the same stage as Ralph Nader.
But that was not the point of Dr. Paul's effort.
So Barr lost any chance for my vote.

Why on earth would a "CIA black op run by the Trotskyite Neocons" be doing all he can to take votes from an open out in the daylight neo-con McCain? Barr isnt going to win - but he may take a few votes out of McCains hide - so what would their objectives be? - to insure an Obama victory? Obama will win or lose regardless of Barr - so what would Barrs reason for running be if your allegations are true?
Youve got me wrong - I dont care if you dont support Barr - but you dont need to bash him - I also support Baldwin, Nader and McKinney. - and Im not going to bash them or anyone who supports them, I save that for McBama and their supporters. only I do it in a pleasant way - to ease them into seeing the reality of our situation - hate gets you nowhere when trying to expand a revolution.

I was also once a supporter of the patriot act - and for wars that "made the world safe for democracy" - I participated in two of them myself (Kosovo and Iraq) Would this discredit my conversion then also? Am I also damaging the liberty movement by trying to sway pro-war republicans to examine their beliefs and instead consider Barr or Baldwin?

P.S. In the movie/TV business, people fight over "top" billing, consider "second" billing a step in the right direction if they've never had top billing, and also like the last position with "and ____ ." Frankly, I doubt the writer gave any of this much thought. He built the story based on how it flowed.

Barr is a GOP gatekeeper, as McKinney is a Democratic Party gatekeeper.
Before Ross Perot, the two major corporate parties would "steal" the leaders of the third parties. Ron Paul for example WAS Republican. Nader never joined any politocal party (he's not a collectivist).
I noticed working on Nader's campaigns...maybe because I came to Nader from the Libertarin Party to work on ending corrupt elections, the Greens seemed to get their marching orders from the Democrats. In 2004, Greens put Cobb on the ballot because they said Nader needed to join their party, and he refused. Who really put Cobb on the ballot? Same stuff as the GOP we all just witnessed this selection of McCain.
Nader is the only Independent candidate, and I don't think he runs for the office to be president, because he believes what he says (unlike allot of people who want to convince you they believe what they don't believe), but Nader is in the race because he's knows it's corrupt and he LOVES to sue the feds. And that's why I've been a Libertarin for Nader all these years. I'm glad he joined Barr in opposing TX ballot laws. Where's Ron Paul on the issue..it's his state?
MSM is trying to make Barr a "Spoiler" for McCain, and why he's getting top billing. Barr is No Nader. And for those who want to tell me about Nader being a socialist. All that tells me is you believe MSM. You think MSM only lied about Ron Paul, or do you forget what we went throught in trying to get Ron Paul in the news? Nader has even less than Ron Paul.
Democrats HATE Nader. Neocons HATE Nader. Corporations HATE Nader. The Feds HATE Nader. The socialists now hate Nader for joining Ron Paul...so Nader is my kind of guy. Thanks for posting these comments about Nader. I always liked him, I have voted for him (as well as unfortunately voting for Bush) and appreciate your insights. It reinforces my general thoughts about him, very positive, definitely an individual who can stand his ground! I respect that.

Yes, Nader is a neo-LIB diversion
The reason I say, "Nader is a neo-LIB diversion, is that my experience as a Nader supporter is the Democrats HATE and BLAME Nader for giving them Bush. Twice I have been told by nicely dressed Democrat women, who I didn't know...I was collecting signatures for Nader's ballot access... "You should be shot in the head". Chilling.
Democrats who see my NADER stickers, called me a Republican, a usefull idiot for the GOP, The Democrats and GOP have more love between them than Nader and Democrats... NADER = McCain.
I show up to a peace rally with a Nader sign and Obama people are now laughing like the GOP did in 2004.
Democrats think Hannity and Rush give the GOP their marching orders. Nader's name hits a juggler with these folks. Republicans for the most part..they laugh at Nader. It's all funny. No Republicans gave a crap that the Democrats were suing Nader in 17 states.
Had Ron Paul rEVOLutionaries read Nader's books, CRASHING THE PARTY and THE GOOD FIGHT, they would have been better prepared to fight for Ron Paul. But all this Nader is a socialist BS, is more about protecting the two parties than actually FIGHTING to win.

My sentiments exactly. Ron Paul & Ralph Nader are both my heroes. They have much more in common that most give them credit for: putting people first, with corporations subservient to the people's needs. This is a very basic concept that this Nation was founded upon.
