"Major Message" from Ron Paul to Come Tomorrow. Or actually today- he endorsed Baldwin.

According to Thomas Woods at the Campaign for Liberty:

And apparently he endorsed Chuck Baldwin.

How sad that

a campaign with so much promise - think back to Dec. of last year - has devolved to an endorsement of a candidate with zero chance of influencing anything.

Unfortuately the best candidate for president, Dr.Paul, had an amatuer campaign. The worst candidate, John McCain, probably had the best.

There is some hope, however, with the CFL.

I'M STILL GOING TO...

...WRITE-IN RON PAUL because HE is why I got involved in politics.

Not Barr, Baldwin, McKinnley, Nader etc.

The point is to NOT vote for either of the two "main" party fools.

They're one-and-the-same.

All we can do now is send a strong message of DIS-CONTENT with these two criminal organizations.

How DARE they be allowed to spend 100 MILLION of our tax dollars for their conventions---and then shut out any 3rd party from the debates???

I Agree!... NOT "Chuckles" O Baldwin

This writer has respect for Chuck Baldwin for doing such a great job endorsing Ron Paul. Here ends praise for Baldwin.

As a candidate himself, Baldwin is a poor one. Who is responsible for the subject line tag name, "Chuckles", I cannot remember. Someone else on Constitutionalists@yahoogroups.com did that, but I can understand why!
Chuck Baldwin is much less a Dr No than Ron Paul. Baldwin has floundered in the "Constitution Party". Doing very little to uphold the CP's own motto:"Principle Over Politics" because of events prior during and after the April 21, 2006 vote in Tampa, Florida. Just look what "unity" and bigtentism did to the Rep Party! Why does he think it'll work in another party? I'm personally, pretty much sick of "parties", but that's a whole nother subject.

Darrell Castle, Baldwin's running mate was a poor choice dating back to Tampa, when Castle was one of the 57 NO votes in Tampa. See www.covenantnews.com/newswire/archives/020518.html(Nevada Disaffiliation Roll Call Vote)

As a speaker, Darrell Castle is non-charismatic; dead fish!

I've been committed for a long time...not going to change now:

Yes,

Barr really #$%@ it up with his decision. Big strategic mistake, still cannot understand it. He could have discussed it with Paul after wards, his difference in strategy, but apparently not. He simply had to show up, gain trust and he would have received most of the Ron Paul support without any endorsement by Paul of anyone. But his actions has understandably lead to Dr. Paul's reaction. I would do the same if I was Dr. Paul in the light of snubgate.

Thats because the most

Thats because the most important issue is freedom! With out that nothing else matters.

I thought Chuck made an awesome speech at the

Sept 10th News conference on the 4 Libertarian agreements the three candidates made together as a coalition and how they each pushed against the debate monopoly.

Chuck really shone in his speech. I got gooseflesh from his tone and content. Thought it was just great.

I think some of us are grumbling

and trying to find fault with Baldwin because who we really want is RON PAUL!

Well, we can't have Ron Paul. He won't be on the ballot.

If we could all just put our nitpicking aside and just agree as a unity to vote for this one person that Ron Paul selected AS A PROTEST against the 2 party system, it would send a really strong message.

Do you really think any third party has a chance in hell of winning this time with our screwed up voting system any way? It's just to send a message, not to win! After the election you never have to see Chuck Baldwin's face again if you don't want to, okay???

understand the grumbling...

i consider Ron Paul part of the "ticket"...this is something Baldwin understands too...

and who would you choose?

and who would you choose?

Baldwin is a good choice.

Who better to wake up the evangelicals in this country than an evangelical. I know fundamentalist christians who sense something is wrong with this country, but the MSM keeps denying them the truth. I sincerely believe that fundis would vote for him if he were given equal time on MSM. That would enlarge the number of people who vote third party, anyways.

Evangelicals votes

are needed to get the C4L wheels in motion. The best way to do that is to unite all independents and vote Chuck Baldwin in this election.

What do you have to lose?

I am STUNNED that people are actually happy

I am STUNNED that people are actually happy about this endorsement. How can you go from Libertarian to Constitutional Party??? Might as well endorse Ralph Nader. Completely opposite views. Constitutional party is based on religion, and Libertarian is not.

How can anyone be happy about that? I guess there are a lot more religious fanatics supporting Ron paul than I expected, and I don't care if you are religious, just don't wear it on your sleeve, and worse, don't use it to Govern.

It's just a unified protest vote against the 2 parties

Don't you see that? We have slim pickings left and the 2 major parties are not an option. Who cares if Baldwin's views don't exactly mirror Ron Paul's? Do you think he's actually going to win or something?

it's not about "religion'...it's about...

...actually believing the founding father's words.

http://www.constitutionparty.com/party_platform.php#Preamble
(straight from the Constitution Part preamble)-"This great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been and are afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here."

...gee, that sounds just like this man...spoken 12 years before the Declaration of Independence...

Patrick Henry-"Orator of the Revolution."
“It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason, peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.” [May 1765 Speech to the House of Burgesses]

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Well, there are a lot that

Well, there are a lot that would disagree with that, but that is neither here nor there. NO to Baldwin and his New World Order scares I would never vote for someone who carries religion on their sleeve and after Paul criticized Huckabee for it, I am disappointed he would endorse someone like Huckabee.

Huckabee used it to rope in votes

just like McCain's selection of Palin, Baldwin is nothing at all like Mike Huckabee!

1. Liberty-based Voting Record - Baldwin does not have a voting record so by default he gets a 3. Score: 3
2. The Federal Reserve and Monetary Policy - Baldwin wants to abolish the Federal Reserve and has advocated for a return to the gold standard. Baldwin’s Communications Director states that Chuck supports competing currencies. Score has been modified to a 5 (see comments for details). Score:5
3. Foreign Policy and Iraq - Baldwin calls for an immediate return from Iraq and switching to a non-interventionist foreign policy just like Ron Paul. Baldwin’s Communications Director states that Baldwin has advocated for bringing our troops home from military bases stationed overseas. Score has been modified to a 5 (see comments for details). Score:5
4. Taxes - Baldwin is perfectly in line with Ron Paul on tax policy. He wants to repeal the 16th amendment and replace it with nothing. No flat tax and no consumption tax. Score: 5
5. Government Spending - Baldwin is exactly like Ron Paul on government spending. He mentions specific departments he would abolish and continually advocates returning our government to its Constitutionally limited size. Score: 5
6. Privacy and Civil Liberties - Baldwin is identical to Ron Paul here. He is against FISA, Real ID, and the Patriot Act. He would leave the definition of marriage to the states. Score: 5
7. Immigration - Baldwin mimics Ron Paul on this issue. He speaks about removing incentives and lashes out against amnesty. He allows for the possibility of a border fence, but isn’t that keen on the idea. Score: 5
8. Gun Control and Second Amendment - Baldwin echoes Ron Paul here as well just about perfectly. Score: 5
9. Internet Regulation - He is against Net Neutrality and has said he opposes federal regulation of the Internet. However, he was given an ‘F’ by the Poker Player’s Alliance for his stance on online gambling and he was not forthright with his answer in a recent interview about regulating online gambling. Score: 4
10. Adherence To The Constitution - Baldwin speaks regularly of restoring the Constitution and obeying the rule of law. Score: 5
11. Religion vs. Public Policy - Being a member of the Constitution Party it is difficult for Baldwin to score high here. Baldwin being a pastor also doesn’t help. In most of his writings and speeches he mentions religion or relates policy to it. This is unlike Ron Paul. Ron Paul rarely mentions religion on the campaign trail. Score: 1
12. Environment - Baldwin is directly in line with Dr. Paul here. He believes global warming is a cyclical act of nature and he advocates using property rights and the court system to handle environment disputes. Score: 5
13. Energy Policy - Baldwin advocates for drilling in ANWR and off our coastlines. He advocates building more Nuclear Power plants. Score: 5
14. U.S. Sovereignty - Baldwin regularly speaks out against the North American Union and advocates for strong U.S. Sovereignty. Score: 5
15. War On Drugs - Baldwin says we need to “rethink” the war on drugs, but he hasn’t advocated ending it. Instead he suggests sealing the border as the solution to our perceived drug problems. He hasn’t advocated freeing all non-violent drug offenders either. These are not in line with Ron Paul. He has however, suggested that medicinal marijuana use be best regulated by the states. Score: 3
16. Education - Baldwin is perfectly in line with Ron Paul here. He advocates abolishing the Department of Education and advocates for school choice and home schooling. Score: 5
17. Welfare Programs - Baldwin advocates for phasing out of Social Security just like Ron Paul. Score: 5
18. Abortion - Baldwin is a twin of Ron Paul on this issue. Even though he is personally pro-life he would support Ron Paul’s “Sanctity Of LIfe” act which would overturn Roe vs. Wade and leave all abortion regulation to the states. Score: 5
19. Health Care - Baldwin is exactly like Ron Paul here. Wants to leave medical decisions to doctor’s and patients. He does not support any kind of government run national health care system. He wants to restore free market competition to health care. Score: 5
20. Ability To Spread The Liberty Message - Baldwin certainly has a liberty message; however, his ability to spread it by getting coverage on main stream media outlets is severely lacking. Score: 2

Chuck Baldwin’s final Paul-O-Meter Score: 88 out of 99 possible points

So is Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, but that doens't mean I want them running things.

Sounds Great!

Post this often for all of the naysayers or people still on the fence about Baldwin.

as a matter of fact I think this would be a great slim Jim for the CB campaign.

so what you mean is that the founding fathers..

were not christian, but the principles on which the Constitution is written is based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Makes sense to me; they might want to come out and say that though. The name Jesus scares alot of people away, especially those who don't understand the gospel and its principles of freedom.

Some were, some weren't

Some were Christians, some weren't. A lot of the founders' foundations were based on Christian principles though.

I really don't think the Party is about forcing anyone's beliefs on anybody. The system we have now is about doing that.

And the sales-pitches are coming hard and fast.

Don't worry, apparently we're just venting our spleens and will fall in line once we've calmed down.

Is Dr. Paul serious?

What is The great Dr. thinking? Chuck Baldwin is a racist anti-semitic who followed the teachings of Jerry Falwell and condemned Dr. King Jr.'s Civil Rights activism. As a long time follower of Dr. Paul I am frankly disappointed.

The pic in my profile is of me holding the Ron Paul sign, throwing up the peace sign......The pic actually made it into the nov. 12 issue of Time Magazine. (too bad the article wasn't to flattering to RP. The title of the article was "Ron Paul Revolution"
