Just felt like ranting a bit.
It is my contention that we have become far too apologetic of a society. We are no longer being sustained by our government, but rather being preyed upon. What started as a tiny parasite taking a few liberties on its host, has become an eight foot long tape worm traversing the sinews of our intestines. An institution created to sustain us, ensure our comfort, facilitate our existence is now asking, nay demanding, that we endure a profound discomfort to salvage its existence. There are some who stop to think, some who demand accountability, and some who demand oversight. Then there are those who not only will happily foot the bill, but they will do so dutifully. They will completely overlook the fact that they are paying to sustain an organism whose sole purpose is to ensure our sustenance. Does anyone else see the irony in sacrificing one’s liberty to sustain the supposed guardian of said liberty?
