I was a self-described "socialist" for many years before I discovered Ron Paul. If you want socialists to see the error of their ways, you need to do alot more work.

1. Distinguish between people who call themselves "socialist" and people who don't even realise that they are socialist. In America, the first group is extremely small and the second group is extremely large.

2. Pin them down on the specifics of their own economic theory. Quit lumping Marx together with Keynes. They were both wrong for different reasons.

3. Distinguish between capitalism and corporatism. When you say "capitalism" they think "corporatism". They all do. Trust me on this.

4. Show them that the size of government can be strictly limited with the expedient of sound money. Show them where most "capitalist" countries have gone wrong.

5. Show them that the left-right continuum does not make sense. Give them a government-size continuum instead.
