I just read the thread on the Houston Chronicles attack on Ron Paul for not voting for the billion dollar bailout. Let's show them the power that is freedom. Let's set up a money bomb for the Galveston, Texas area. Let's show them that in the middle of this economic meltdown that we, as Americans, are willing to help our fellow man. If there is any way to set this up I've got $40 hard earned that says human compassion beats govt. misappropriation every single day. What do you think?

I have a question:
While I am all for helping others, I am curious how much of it will actually go to the effort, and how much will go in to the pocket of someone from the salvation army?
True or not, I have heard some things about administrators getting the greater part of things like this and would like to be more informed before happily giving to help others as long as that's what is being done.
I hope it doesn't make me seem insensitive, because I would give my last FRN to help someone if it is really going to them.
So someone confirm for me that there is no hanky panky with the funds, and I am jumping on the band wagon with all I can spare.

I have been trying to find out how to help Ron's district and am also wondering if he still has a home. Was it destroyed, does anyone know? What other organizations are bringing aid and resources to Texas because of Ike?

Well, except we get to see a bunch of freedom-loving patriots standing up for their fellow Americans. And others see us r3volutionaries band together to bring aid to those in need!

I think if you want to live in a coastal area your insurance rates should determine your ability to do so, based on historical weather patterns. If there is a history of highly damaging weather, your insurance should be very high or non-existent. Why reward ignorance?

I agree absolutely. But let's not rely on govt. handouts...EVER! Take care of your own. Live within your means. The govt. should never appropriate any of our money...EVER! I will spend my money as I please, and if we can set this up then $40 bucks to Galveston. If you don't want to send anything, don't. No hard feelings. These are hard times, spend your money as you wish.

It's coming from me and anyone else who decides to do the same. As to why...to help rebuild, to help remove FEMA, to help send a message to the govt. We can take care ourselves. If no one wants to donate, fine. It's optional. It is ten thousand times better than the govt. deciding for you.
