Could Electronic Voting Systems Be Prohibited? Read this....
Submitted by sophonia on Thu, 11/08/2007 - 12:35We The People Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of liberty in America, has filed the National Clean Elections Lawsuit (N-CEL) against all 50 states. This is a landmark effort to eliminate the use of electronic voting and return to paper ballots counted in full view of the public. Please go to the following link to read a Nov. 6, 2007 update on this vital effort:

Our right to vote is the foundation upon which our other freedoms rest. We need to take peaceful steps to ensure that our vote will be counted accurately.

Update
Is there any updates on this?

Paper Ballots
Paper ballots in public view from start to finish. It is not those who vote that counts but those who count the votes.

I wish I had a valuable stance either way...
As an engineer I know electronic means can be very secure, but I also know the faults of solid state equipment and 'user error'.
As a FL resident, I do not want to go through the hanging chad and pencil mark nonsense again.
Software is not secure
Sorry to disagree, but even when voting software is not designed by criminals [as happened in 2004] it is designed to be updated - i.e. modified. Do you trust every hacker in the world *not* to mess with it?

Transparency is the key
The way electronic voting can work is to have a machine readable paper ballot which you fill out and scan, the paper ballot gets marked with an anonymous serial number and filed, and you get a voting receipt from the machine that shows your serial number and your votes. Afterwards, a list is published of all serial numbers with corresponding votes, with a method of disputing the given votes if not matching up, such that the paper ballot can then be checked out.
This leaves verification at time of voting, as well as a paper trail, and verification after counting. Am I missing anything?

Here is a topic to keep at the top
This is the type of topic that should stay in the top 10 all day!
This is the type of topic that will inform us and help us ensure Dr. Paul has a fair shot in his bid for presidency.
I have a ton of conspiracy topics that I feel very strongly about. But, I will refrain from posting anything on this site that might not 100% benefit Ron Paul. Some of my previous post were removed or censored and I was upset at the time. However, I now understand that people who are trying to learn about Ron Paul, for the first time, need not be introduced to topics that Ron Paul himself might not endorse!!
Call it being PC or whatever, but it must be done for the ultimate goal...Ron Paul the 44th President of the USA.
ny state drivers licenses
now anyone can have a drivers lincense in ny state regardless of immigration status. will this effect voting? there was another thread on this that was just deleted. I would love to hear more about ny state in particular; I think they rejected electronic voting.
