What does the rest of the world know that we don't? The United States Dollar is dead.
While we are being jerked around by the main stream media here at home, the rest of the world has already drawn the final conclusion for us, and what they are saying about us isn't pretty...

"How can we justify to the unemployed and underemployed in the United States the incredible cost of maintaining a global empire?" - Dr. Ron Paul
Only Washington DC
could take a ~$13 Trillion per year GDP and turn it into bankruptcy!
These people need to be hung.
Remember MC Hammer??
Remember years ago how we felt when we heard that MC Hammer was going broke on $45 million a year???!!!!
Yeah....it's the same way other countries feel about us now.

the one thing we do have left
Is overwhelming military strength and weapons of mass destruction. In America, some politicians have enjoyed political success conflating it with "strength". It gives great power to enforce our will under punishment of mass death in the world. But is our will a puffed up, self serving sham at times, or sometimes indistinguishable from that of a tyrant? We, of course, are incapable of an objective view of ourselves. Who can judge themselves?
"Strength" looks like bankruptcy, fiscally and morally, to me (to take one man's "unamerican" stab at it, to question the military's (MilitaryIndustrialFinancial complex) role in bankrupting the nation is somehow "unpatriotic" still). If not today, then tomorrow or the day after, the trend is ineluctable and we will take the "world" down with us. But change is still possible. The question is whether we can wise up before a self-inflicted disaster or be forced to change by a REAL crisis.
