Charlotte, NC and Atlanta Completely Out Of Gas

I just heard that both Charlotte and Atlanta are completely out of gas city-wide...anyone else heard any news about this???

and while a few stations are out, there was plenty available. I paid $3.78/gal. for regular.

If the government would let the market work, the price would go up and consumers would cut back 20%. Problem solved.

Or, consumers would cut back 10%, the extra profit of the price rise would pay for gas delivery from further away.

Or suppose there was a real shortage, say half what is needed; then the price would really have to go up, gas companies would scramble to get more trucks in there at double-overtime and maybe flood the market until the price comes down.

The laws of economics are no more breakable than the laws of phyics. Money is water seeking its own level. In this case, the government built a dam across a river by enacting anti-gouging laws and encouraging consumers to rat out "price-gougers."

site earlier in the week about that very subject. I recall the line of stalled vehicles on US-290 during the hurricane Rita evacuation in Sept. of 2005. At one point, they were lined up from the 610 Loop to Giddings, Texas. Stations had shut down. No gas, no food, and no way to get any gas.......because the anti-gouging laws prevented the supply-demand equation from working. If they had removed those laws, and allowed prices to meet the demand and the conditions of that time, there would have been people pulling gasoline trucks in there with their teeth if necessary. I would have been out there on the highway myself, selling my own stored supplies while my wife was selling food that we had stockpiled.

Start cutting back on energy consumption, this is a war, we can't buckle under little inconvienences like not having gasoline. Take a bus, walk, carpool, Revolutionaries of the past would laugh if we were to complain about something as frutile as this.
Stock up on food and supplies. Take your money out of JPMorgan and put it into your own personal bank, be sure to exchange it for real American money, silver and gold. Work together with family and friends and protect your neighborhoods.

price of gas. Gas should be dropping in price all over....now there is a shortage. Raise the price of gas to slow down consumption....Hmmmmmmm

Last week it was the same way here in Nashville. The interesting thing is that reportedly, the hurricane damaged facilities that only provide about 20% of the gas for our region. For some reason, however, we had an almost 100% shortage...... the math doesn't add up, but I guess with our government, that's to be expected, huh?

I can confirm that this is the case in Charlotte. People weren't able to go to work yesterday because of it. In Asheville(Western NC) the city/county government has shut down.

town in south central N.C.. I had to search for gas yesterday. I found just 1 station that had gas. There are 15-20 stations in my small town. The local nightly news aired video of people getting into fights waiting on gas in long lines. This is not good. This could very well cause civil unrest. How long this will continue I just don't know, but people are missing school at the community college and postponing activities because of this. If this is ture with diesel, then I don't have to tell you what this will do to the grocery stores. One school system reported on Friday that they had enough fuel to last 3 more days.

My sister there reports that the convenience store are closing, and last week there were long lines and fighting breaking out in the long lines.

Here in Tallahassee FL we had the same problem a week ago, but now have gas. I was running on fumes for a couple of days.

This is one more thing they threw out there in MSM a couple of days ago. Just in case we don't panic and put Paulson on the throne we will be looking forward to nationwide gas shortages. They said partly because of the hurricanes but mostly because of "gas liquidity" of using up all of the reserves and that of course would also lead to major food shortages. Does everyone remember the last shortage at the pumps, with the even and odd days, which turned out to be a complete scam? The propaganda fear machine is on full throttle.

I live in East Tennessee, about 2 hours from Asheville NC.

There is all the gas I want here, with no lines and no shortages, and the price is $3.69 per gallon.

Perhaps it's a "city problem" where there are large numbers of people wanting to buy gas. I live in a rural area.

This whole thing is ridiculous. They did it last week in AR, and everyone said when it came back it would be $7 a gallon. Instead, it started to drop. I guess they are somehow forcing this to happen in different towns. Someone should get to the bottom of this and at least TRY to get it on MSM. I am thinking back on how stupid I was, thinking when we went into Iraq it would mean $.25/gal gas again for our country. I was so naiive.

I am originally from Walland area and talked to my daughter after the hurricane. She said they were out all over. Very strange as I actually live in Texas now and the hurricane came right over my house but our gas only went up 30 cents for a 1 1/2 weeks. Never had a shortage here even with all of the evacuee's that came to our area. Something smells about all of this.

No problem where I am at either. Whether real or fabricated if you go to CNN.com right now, you will be told to be ready for gas shortages across the nation soon and we will be faced with "a crippling run". Did the hurricane cause that much damage to our major sources of oil, or what exactly is the reason? We have known here for a long time they pull the strings on all of it, so be ready for any shortages to the best of our ability to do so. I wouldn't put anything past these criminals to get what they want.
