Cafferty on Palin
Submitted by Forge on Sat, 09/27/2008 - 08:15I always thought Jack Cafferty was one of the more sympathetic journalists with regards to Dr. Paul's bid for the republican candidacy. He seemed to have a bit of that same "tell the truth, consequences be damned" attitude that we all love and respect w/ Dr. Paul. Here recently, he weighed in on Sarah Palin with commentary that is at once hilarious, honest, and frightening:

She's not an idiot but she was
screwed by McCain's incompetent campaign staff. Basically these days, all these guys just work around parroting talking points. So, rather than allow her to have a free thought, they probably told her "if they ask you anything, just say this." That's why she got confused/freaked out--you're in front of TV cameras and you don't want to screw up a Presidential Campaign by just trying to say what's on your mind--that's a lot of pressure--because in your head you don't want to be THAT person that everyone remembers for derailing a campaign--if you think about it from that perspective, it could happen to anyone.
They should have explained the situation to her with the typical b.s. justification they're using every MSM shill to deliver: "Hey Sarah this is what happened -- banks gave out a lot of money that couldn't be repaid, so they don't have money now, and if they don't have money to loan to people and businesses like Ford and CAT, then folks will go out of business and lose their jobs and things will keep getting worse...so we need this bailout. And we can't just give the money to the people directly because then they'd just blow it buying $3000 Gucci purses instead of paying their bills...er...I mean that wouldn't solve the problem of businesses being able to operate because it would take too long for regular folks to put that money in the banks and by that time, a lot of businesses would go under and banks wouldn't know exactly how many people would make a deposit, so they wouldn't know how much money they could lend--that's why we have to give the money straight to the banks."
If you explained that to ANYONE any REGULAR JOE on the street, they'd get that; and if you understand it you can explain it in your own words. Instead it's just the idiocy of the McCain campaign spreading its tentacles and taking her down with their sinking ship.
With this bailout vote today, I think McCain is pretty much done. The last option he had after all the "I'm suspending my campaign" B.S. was that he could have let Obama vote for the thing and pulled a "maverick" and said "Country First MotherF(*cker -- no bailout" then he would have had the popular support and won in a landslide. Now, after completely torpedoing his own VP and coming out like a total buffoon on the bailout, he's finished unless he pulls some amazing stuff at the economic debate.
The Look on Couric's Face
Says it all!
Wait till you see
Pelosi !!! Its even better !!!!!!!
Ya know,
I am not a politicain and I could have played devil's advocate and had given a better response than her. I am not particularly smart, so I must conclude that Palin is an idiot.

Freedom may be worth searching for.

Now that she's revealed
Now that she's revealed herself to be an idiot, she's no longer "hot", if you ask me. She's just another moron hoping to turn our country into Nazi Germany.

Truth is treason in an empire of lies.
ha
She funnier than than Tina Fey.
The real version is much funnier than SNL
I watched it twice last night (the full version).
I did not feel bad for her one bit.
She should have known what she is getting into.
These softballl questions from Couric deserved to be knocked out of the park.
Looks only get you so far folks....that accent makes me cringe!
Tina Fey is brighter
Even when Tina Fey tries to act stupid, she's only acting -- Sarah Palin is the real (stupid) deal.
No kidding
I've only been studying economics and foreign policy for a few years now, but I would bet my house (which by the way is worth 75% of 2006 value) that I am more qualified.
Biden is going to fillet her in the VP debates. Can't wait to watch, although I don't prefer either side.
I saw the SNL version first,
I saw the SNL version first, thought it was very funny, but halfway felt bad for her thinking "She's not THAT stupid".... then I saw the real one and realized that they quoted her verbatim.
Yes, it scares me.
Cafferty Is Still Being Misleading
The misapprehension is that she is somehow less qualified than the other three, when in reality they are equally dishonest, unqualified, and given to utter goofy non-responses that betray ignorance, corruption or both.
Come on, Jack, you can do better. You're giving credence to the rest of the Gang of Four by focusing on only one.

Yeah, but the other three have been in the game
longer so they are better at lieing and it is harder to catch them on it. I like Cafferty alot; he is one of the few meida types to support Ron Paul you know.
lmao!
"it was not her best answer"!! LOL!
Well said, Jack Cafferty
He's right on the money. She should never have taken the role of VP and the fact that she did tells you a lot about her over-ambitious side. Which isn't good.
She was a really promising governor who was still learning her lessons the hard way but seemingly learning them and seemingly doing some good for the people of Alaska. She has absolutely no business whatesoever being a Vice Presidential candidate. That piece of tape alone is enough to cement that fact.

Republican losing by design
You all haven't caught on? There is a false left and right paridigm. The election is a scam... there is always gonna be a side that sounds stupider than the other stupid side. So its the lesser of two stupids. By design they make McCain and Palin stupid, so that Obama can win handily. They have learned that when they make elections tight with the Diebold voting machines, it ticks people off.
She is either rock stupid, or an absolutely brilliant closet
Obama supporter that infiltrated McCain's campaign to take him down. If she is really that tied for words, I feel sorry for her.
Jack being Jack
My favorite Ron Paul "Pump-You-Up" video is titled "Land of the Free": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsDlO2Lr_cg. Jack Cafferty is highlighted in this video and portrayed as being in favor of what Ron Paul stands for. I think he does the best that he can considering his position and who writes his paychecks.
I think Jack's critique of what amounts to about 1 minute of Sarah Palin's response is a bit exaggerated. She stumbled in her response, no doubt about that. But many of us can look back and honestly say that we've all done that at one point or another while we were asked a hard question under the spotlight. Ron Paul has certainly done that. That's not to say that she is excused for the content of her response, however, especially considering the high-level of office that she is seeking. All I am saying is that the backlash from Jack, or Jack-lash, is a bit melodramatic considering the circumstances.
With that said, Palin as VP is still scary to me because we don't know enough about her.

If voting could really change things,
it would be illegal. Here is hoping for change!
That was beyond pathetic.
I won't be able to vote my choice for president since I live in Oklahoma, but that little clip is "almost" enough to make me vote for obamba.
Wow.
I hadn't seen that part of the interview. Absolutely pathetic.
The poor woman is completely rattled. Yet another McCain f-up.

comedians
I haven't seen a comedian make use of this yet, but it seemed like the obvious joke: take a Palin quote and just add a couple of "and such as" phrases.
Cafferty is a sexist!

Thank you Jack! Telling it
Thank you Jack! Telling it like it is. I cannot wait to see this train wreck in the VP debate on Thursday night!
